I am so surprised this place is still open honestly. I rarely come here, its my husband who does often. I decided to join him and wow, these employees maybe need to either find something that makes them happy or take a course of customer service. Upon entering altho the "employee in training" did greet us and smiled :)), that was nice. Now fast forward, I was looking at some fencing and clearly you could tell I needed some help. Tell me why an associate, literally, I mean literally just looks at me and walks right past me with a "im tired pls dont ask me for help" face. I had already found what I was looking for right before she got to me, but seriously did not ask not one peep if I needed help. I let it go, clearly she didnt want to be there. Now lets go to the line for the registers. We were standing in line and honestly didnt even know there were 3 lines open. Tell me WHY, there was a customer at the "employee in training" register, while one was away talking to the guys standing at the door and one literally was just looking at us. Now I didnt know she was an open register till we got to the employee in training's register and was baffled that the other cashier literally looked at me and didnt even offer for us to go to her line when she clearly wasnt doing anything at all, but instead just stood there letting everyone go to the training cashier. the customer behind us even asked if she was open bc all she was doing was looking at us all. Like come on people, your job isnt hard, its not hard to call the next customer so u could help them. Now if they just want the training cashier to do it, than they shouldnt be behind their register just standing there. and last but not least, PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACES, a SMILE goes a long way, TRUST!!! read more

Starting off the year not so good on YELP... went this morning around 9:30am to find 4- light bulbs for my Ceiling Fan. When to the cashier and show my old bulb now sure which one to get, needed customer service...Well she told me look at the end of the bulb and find a matching set...went back to the aisle and opened around 6-boxes to see if I could find the right one...Which hopefully I did, the cashier told me if it doesn't fit you can bring it back. Went to paint dept and female sales rep was talking story with a female customer about a dog. Waited about 5mins and when female customer noticed 2 customers standing in line behind her she ended her conversation and left. I ordered my paint and was informed of a 20 min wait time. I browsed around the store for about 5-10 mins and passed the paint dept to see the same female customer again talking story to the paint dept sales rep. I waited about another 5 mins and when the customer left, I told the sales rep to cancel my paint order. Another sales rep called a manager for me at my request. The male manager never introduced himself (no smile) and asked how could he be of help. I explained the above occurrence and also related that I understood that the sales rep was being nice to her customer but at some point and time she has to stop socializing and acknowledge others in line and not wait for the customer to recognize the line. The manager offered no apology and his facial expression depicted him as being disinterested. His only words were "Is there anything else you want to add"and "I'll talk to them". He spoke with a detached tone. I've always supported my local hardware store when working on many home improvement projects and more so in the past 10 years since retirement. I guess City Mill does not value its loyal customers anymore. read more

Don't come here even if it's your last resort. Came here to buy screws and it was so hard to find help and when we did the guy gave us the WRONG ones. Came back to change them out and again hard to get help, after we finally did they detected us to the wrong area and were hard to start back a square one. We finally found the correct area and all the screws are not organized and worker was no help. read more

I found everything plus more...specifically Badger 1/2 HP garbage disposal, vegetable seeds, Neem oil, two seedling trays, (2) water bladders for storm season, and bag potting soil to transplant some small trees. I'm holding off on garbage disposal until next month. But I'm able look and plan while I'm here. I need some tools I'm the future to build a 8x10 shed. I checked the whole tools section with cost of batteries plus a 6 bed slot charger...nice! Moreover, I need to compare prices. Store clerks have lots of suggestion for what wood is best for your projects. They are very friendly while on the floor making sure if you need help. I like this store, very organized, clean, and neat. Masks are required for all, hand sanitizers, wipes for your carts, and social distancing. I wasn't expecting to stay long... Oh, well? Went in looking for a plumbing item. Looked through the whole section, including Aisle 8 where I expected it to be, but couldn't find it. Asked a worker, who had been chatting with someone he apparently knew and was walking away, where the item might be. He told me "Aisle 8" and kept on walking away quickly. Looked again, but of course it wasn't there. Poor customer service. read more

Once a female associate sold me a cool, long yellow plastic item to twirl unwanted hair in a bathtub drain. Did the job well then and now. They have closet storage, things to put under heavy furniture to easily move them without getting a hernia. Lamps, lighting, plumbing and even grab and go packaged snacks and beverages can be found here. Sometimes you can find clear acrylic containers, liquid soap dispensers, glass cannisters and more for your kitchen or bathroom. We came here because hubby was looking for a specific item. He found what he was looking for. The store was pretty big and everything was well organized. Each aisle was labeled so that what you're looking for is easy to find. Check out is near the front. As I was walking, I was greeted by an employee and he asked me if I needed help. I told him that I was fine. Then he proceeded to say Have a great day! I told him you as well. He was polite and kind. Too bad I didn't catch his name on his name tag. Plenty of parking up front. I do not home improve, garden or do any construction type of projects. I figured this was a popular store for dudes. I probably check out City Mill a couple of times a year for random things like a single screw, or bolt. But honestly when I do end up walking around, there are interesting things. I like looking at the little furniture area. Because I have so many shoes/sandals, I love looking at shoe shelves and storages. Apparently I have a mild obsession with lighters. City mill has those too lol. There's a small section for household items. And I think there were snacks and drinks in front. Kind of a convenient store for a bit of different things really. Lately they've been pretty well stocked with cleaning items, gloves, sanitizers and face masks. Right now, summer heat is kicking in and its a good place to check out fans and ac units too. read more

City Mill saved the day after a very frustrating experience at a big box home improvement store! MAHALO City Mill!!! After calling the other big box home improvement store and confirming they could cut PVC pipe and being turned away, I called City Mill Mililani. The lady who answered the phone was friendly and helpful and she double checked that the saw was in fact up and working. I went into the store soon after my call and easily found what I needed. A guy also helped me with getting the pipes cut and he was friendly and worked quickly. I highly recommend hitting up City Mill for your home improvement needs! read more

My go to hardware store in my neighborhood because... -it is convenient -it is open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (12 hours) except on Sunday's. They close at 6:00 p.m. Wow! That's cool! It opens early. I like that! -it is part of a local chain which I support..."Go...local!" -it is small and easy to shop around...not large and overwhelming -it is not intimidating unlike other big hardware stores -it has "awesome customer service" -it has everything that I need for my household projects -it has friendly staff who takes the time to listen to you and assist you in any way that they need to. They are very personable, too. -it has an area that customize window screens -it has a place to make keys and car remote keys, too. City Mills is busy! So many people doing home improvement I guess! It's interesting that we all slow down to fix this and that when we stare at the same disrepair that has been present for years. But now that we have to "Safer at home", we have become motivated to help ourselves as DIYers! Bought some foot covers to add to the end of the security dowels for the sliding door. Helpful safe at City Mill once again. City Mill has retrofitted plexiglass screens to protect the cashier and customer and 6ft markers on the floor. Everyone was wearing a face mask. Tip: keep several handy in your car for when u scurry out today the house and down the street without one. This will prevent u from having to drive back, like me! LOL. read more

Being a 5 star business owner, I expect the same from people I do business with. I wanted to take advantage of this furniture sale statewide but by the time I went to the Honolulu store they were sold out. I then asked them to check all other stores and Mililani only had ONE left...the display model. I asked the clerk at Honolulu to call and check if there were any damage to the product. They told me there were just a few small scratches. I asked if they could take a photo and email it to me and they were so nice and supportive I received the images instantly. I didn't want to drive all the way to Mililani so I asked to speak to someone at Mililani store to see what would be possible. The name to remember is... Addition, it's an extra point when your personal info is important to them and no credit info was given until they were ready to punch it into the system vs just writing it down. I usually go in with a purpose of course. This is not my type of regular shopping store, but if I am in need of a part for my DIY project, I will hit up City Mill first since it's the closest hardware store. They have door locks, wood, paint, lamps, nails, screws, you name it! Prices are decent, not too low yet not too high either. Associates are usually scattered around the store, try to catch one if you need help in locating an item. It saves some time asking for the location of an item rather than running through each aisle with some luck on your shoulders. I Bought a bunk bed for my son and need some extra wood to create gate from him falling over and was able to score super cheap wood in the scrap box. I also wanted to paint some rooms and was able to score paint and primer that was on sale as well. Throughout my times shopping here I haven't had any issues yet. read more

I hardly ever have to go to City Mill, but when I do, it is always a pleasant experience. This City Mill is located across the parking lot of Walmart by The Town Center of Mililani. Parking is hardly ever a problem as there is always people coming and going at a steady pace. Prices are always reasonable for what you are paying for. Store associates have knowledge and it definitely shows! They do an excellent job at acknowledging customers in the store... Even the associates that are up on ladders, stocking shelves check-in with customers browsing the isles below them! Alex R at the register is extremely personable and rings quickly with great accuracy. Most recently, I found myself inside City Mill, staring at all the different varieties of sand paper. An associate explained to me the differences and even recommended which one would be best for the project I was working on. I almost always leave with what I intended to. read more

Before your workers accuse me of being a man walking into the Women's bathroom, make sure you know what you're talking about. Don't assume because I don't have makeup, jewelry, a dress or long hair that I must be a man!!!! I also did not appreciate him pointing me out and telling another employee about a man (me) going into the Women's bathroom within my earshot. And yes I AM A WOMAN!Ass***e!! State law also allows you to use the bathroom based on your sexual identity, whether you like it or not!! Would he have said anything if I used the Men's bathroom? Highly unlikely!!! Stopped by this store this morning to pick up a few things for work. Ropes, nail gun staples, zip ties and bungie cords. If you know me, this is not my store and I am always lost! BUT... this store's customer service deserves 100+ stars. Whoever does the hiring and training knows what they are doing. The service started as soon as I walked in. "Good morning", "hi, how are you"... I found a couple of things right away but had a hard time finding a certain length of the bungie cords so I flagged down one of the store associates. Very helpful and walked me to the location. They were out of the item but was willing to call another store. The only thing left on my shopping list was the staples. I must have looked totally lost because another associate asked me if I needed help. Luckily I had a picture of what I needed and she walked to me to location and grabbed the item for me. Check out was efficient, fast and cashier was very friendly. Convenient, locally owned, great parking and store is very clean and orderly. Excellent service! This store is a good example of how customer service should be! read more

Prices are slightly more than your bid box stores but their buyers are bringing in products you can't get elsewhere. The selection is smaller but someone feels more diverse than the difference between Lowe's and HomeDepot. The furniture selection is awesome. The employees are more friendly and more available than the big box stores as well. read more

This store has gone down hill. At least the paint department. Went in there today and pretty much got ignored. I have been going there for years. They are usually very helpful and attentive. Went there today. Asked the employee if they have "those dripless lids to put on a quart can of paint". She looked up and pointed in a vague direction. Couldn't find it. She just continued on with what she was doing, then disappeared. So I spend about 10-15 minutes trying to find some other things I needed. I found them Gave up on waiting for the paint person to reappear. I proceeded to cashier with items I did manage to find. "Did you find everything you needed?", asked the cashier. "No, I didn't. Nobody in the paint dept", I replied. I look to the right and the paint dept person is a couple registers down talking with a cashier and customer! Cashier in front of me calls the paint dept. No answer. By that time I was totally frustrated and I just left the items there at the counter and walked out of the store! read more

Rarely would I ever need to shop here, except if it's to accompany my mister. Otherwise, they got some pretty nifty home necessities I wouldn't think to shop for. I like to browse while I'm waiting. This place is super duper expensive though, they do have some marked down prices of items, but not very much. The Mililani City Mill is our favorite CM to shop at, it never seems crowded, and lots of parking up front. read more

Went back here with a sink clog/plumbing question because we'd had such a good experience with a salesperson last time, but this time had a bad experience. I had to go to the paint department and wait while an older bald caucasian man and a younger male associate finished whatever they were laughing about to ask "Is there anyone who can help us with a plumbing question?" The older guy says "Not really, but I can try. What do you need?" I asked for a plumber's wrench and he waved his arm across an array of random wrenches in the plumbing section. Aren't employees slightly trained in each area of the store? Anyway, he seemed very put out and the tool didnt work, now we're returning it. Back to Lowes or Homedepot next time. read more

If you are looking for propane, window screen, unfinished tables, allen wrenches, paint thinner, economy brushes, fertilizer, high end flashlights, DIY brochures, toilet bulbs, and MUCH MUCH more you are at the right place. The staff is knowledgeable and/or quick to find someone that can help you. Plus the don't do the "roll the eyes" at the non-DIYer like me. I am such the brok-can-ic that it is not even funny. The workers here are always smiling and willing to answer any question, no doubt. The parking here is easy and there are CLEAN bathrooms inside too! What more can you ask for?? Went to buy some yard supplies and a stick for taeko drum class, walked in to buy the stick and want to cut it but no one around to help, i did it myself at home. walked all around and look at some other stuff and staff doing what they are doing, no one said hi. i don't expect to be greeted anyway at the hardware store. went to the front to check out and normal cashier setup and checked out, with credit card. overall no bad or good service, there was no-service at all, because there was no one around to help. read more

i went in by myself, asking for hardware to mount a ceiling fan... they said no they dont carry and I should try ace hardware... so i let my husband know... he and my brother went in to make sure... five minutes later my brother and husband come out with exactly what we needed, hardware to mount a ceiling fan... I wish this city mill would make an honest effort to check and help out people who actually need help... lucky thing my husband knew what to get and where to look, otherwise I would have to mission it somewhere else, even though it was right there the whole time. read more

If you don't want to drive to Lowe's or HD, and you're willing to pay extra, try this place. Very limited, but the clerks are friendly. Stay away from their birch plywood. Not even a rated product, very heavy, prone to splitting, and looks like grade 3 or 4 both sides. Plus several dollars more than HD. If your toilet leaks, you need to change lights, or the other routine maintenance stuff, they're convenient. read more

City Mill in Mililani used to be my favorite place to shop. Not so much anymore these days. Needed a heavy duty extension cord to run to a charger in my garage. $94 +tax in the store vs. $38 on Amazon delivered to my front door.....which do you think I bought from? I get it, overhead, inflation, and shipping problems have all contributed to higher prices, but $100 bucks for an extension cord?! I desperately want to support the local businesses, especially after this COVID-19 nonsense, but as my economic professor at UH stated time and time again; "most things point to economics." And another thing.....looks like they've had a great deal of turnover in that store when it comes to employees.....long check out lines and cashiers that have poor cash-handling skills or simply cannot compute a customers change without looking at the screen 3X is a recipe for disaster. read more

I hardly come to this location, but this is one of the few times. The layout is almost the same as other locations. This is in the Mililani Town Center, close to Walmart. There are some things that are sold here that I haven't seen in the town locations. One example is the Purell disinfectant solutions. This is convenient to have during the COVID times, and also in general to sanitize surfaces. They also seemed to be fully stocked with other things, so you may find other stuff to buy. read more

There was a time years ago when this establishment touted itself on the high level of personalized customer service of its floor staff. I find the customer service at its Mililani store to be no better than its competitors. In particular, a few of its cashiers need additional training to properly address customer questions without "attitude". Experienced this at least several times during the past 18 months. I now prefer its competition and only frequent City Mill as a last resort. read more

Went in today in search of steel pole for a home project. We entered with an idea & Joshua D help us walk out with success.
