I'm checking for a garbage disposal and seeds.
    Debra N.

I found everything plus more...specifically Badger 1/2 HP garbage disposal, vegetable seeds, Neem oil, two seedling trays, (2) water bladders for storm season, and bag potting soil to transplant some small trees. I'm holding off on garbage disposal until next month. But I'm able look and plan while I'm here. I need some tools I'm the future to build a 8x10 shed. I checked the whole tools section with cost of batteries plus a 6 bed slot charger...nice! Moreover, I need to compare prices. Store clerks have lots of suggestion for what wood is best for your projects. They are very friendly while on the floor making sure if you need help. I like this store, very organized, clean, and neat. Masks are required for all, hand sanitizers, wipes for your carts, and social distancing. I wasn't expecting to stay long... Oh, well? Ciao!

Are you a handy man type or a DIY (do it yourself) aficianado? Your neighborhood City Mill may carry just what you need. If you aren't quite sure where to look or what you might need an employee in a company shirt can assist you. You can get duplicate keys made here, paint, rubbermaid products, picture hanging gadgets, outdoor furniture, dowels and more. They have an assortment of drawer or cabinet pulls, functional, blingy or even whimsical knobs, screws and washers. Once a female associate sold me a cool, long yellow plastic item to twirl unwanted hair in a bathtub drain. Did the job well then and now. They have closet storage, things to put under heavy furniture to easily move them without getting a hernia. Lamps, lighting, plumbing and even grab and go packaged snacks and beverages can be found here. Sometimes you can find clear acrylic containers, liquid soap dispensers, glass cannisters and more for your kitchen or bathroom. You can easily fill up your shopping cart and buy more than you came in for. Happy shopping.

I do not home improve, garden or do any construction type of projects. I figured this was a popular store for dudes. I probably check out City Mill a couple of times a year for random things like a single screw, or bolt. But honestly when I do end up walking around, there are interesting things. I like looking at the little furniture area. Because I have so many shoes/sandals, I love looking at shoe shelves and storages. Apparently I have a mild obsession with lighters. City mill has those too lol. There's a small section for household items. And I think there were snacks and drinks in front. Kind of a convenient store for a bit of different things really. Lately they've been pretty well stocked with cleaning items, gloves, sanitizers and face masks. Right now, summer heat is kicking in and its a good place to check out fans and ac units too.

My go to hardware store in my neighborhood because... -it is convenient -it is open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (12 hours) except on Sunday's. They close at 6:00 p.m. Wow! That's cool! It opens early. I like that! -it is part of a local chain which I support..."Go...local!" -it is small and easy to shop around...not large and overwhelming -it is not intimidating unlike other big hardware stores -it has "awesome customer service" -it has everything that I need for my household projects -it has friendly staff who takes the time to listen to you and assist you in any way that they need to. They are very personable, too. -it has an area that customize window screens -it has a place to make keys and car remote keys, too. Much cheaper than the car dealerships -it has an area to refill propane tanks If you want to support local businesses, please shop here for your hardware needs. You'll thank me for that!

Unfortunately when I walked their garden department they didn't have any. When I asked an employee for help he responded that he only does "Plants". I asked the cashier about purchasing the exchange tanks for propane. She had to call someone to check if they had any (although online they showed 253). She directed me to the self checkout at the front of the store to purchase and pick up. Cashiers up there were swamped with customers and told me they would call someone to help me get my tanks exchanged. It took a while but they finally got it done . Their pricing is inline with other home improvement stores on island. Nice store too bad about the service level.

Today I tried calling and all I get is the virtual assistant. I keep asking to speak to a human being or customer service person and I wait on the phone for over 10 minutes and nobody answers the phone. I literally had to drive down to the store and asked them if the cutting machine was working, which they replied no. They said I can take it down to the honolulu store and get it cut. This is so frustrating. I agree with everyone who says that they don't answer their phone.

They frequently walk to over to the right aisle or at least walk you part way in the right direction. They may not have as much selection as the bigger name mainland chain home improvement/gardening stores but their service far surpasses the others. Their prices are a like higher, but they are smaller, and they are local. Went during their bucket sale where everything that could fit in their yellow bucket (which you had to purchase) was 20% off. It's a sturdy bucket and quite a bit could fit. I also had to but a large garden pot that was bigger than their yellow bucket But fortunately it was 15% off so it was still a decent deal. I've had keys made here and they always say to bring it back if it doesn't work, but I have never had to bring it back. Shop local when you can!

To my surprise, it was finished within four days. The only thing is, at the time of my purchase it cost around $95 for a screen around 5ft x 3ft. If you're needing to replace your screens, be sure to check out this City Mill.

What you get: a free kid sized Home Depot apron (just like the workers wear!), a wooden toy to put together, instructions, a commemorative pin, and a little certificate of completion. They have paint and hammers out to paint and put together the craft. We've been coming for over a year and we absolutely love it! We especially love when they have vehicles like planes, construction vehicles, and emergency vehicles! We also love functional toys like piggy banks and trinket holders! They are pretty well made and last a while. Go to the Home Depot website and click or search for Kids Workshops to see what crafts are available for the next couple of months!
