This was my first time in Texas. I'm here for work and this place was on the suggestion list. The location was beautiful. It is at the corner of an entire upscale shopping plaza and the prices reflected that. The atmosphere was very lively and chic. The Cowboys were playing and there were several televisions to watch the game. Although they took reservations and the place was packed, the hostess was able to seat us where we had great seats to view the game. The wait staff were attentive and very friendly. The drinks and queso were okay but I was rather disappointed in the cheese curds. They were appealing but did not have that crunch or flavor. The flatbread for the win. It was flavorful and filling. Bougie Prices, Meh food. We ordered the Mac-n-cheese with bacon and chicken, smash burger tacos, and smoked fried chicken. The Mac-n-cheese was made with weird giant spiraled noodles...newsflash, Mac-n-cheese doesn't need fixing. The smoked fried chicken was two thin breaded patties that were extremely dry....Meh! The smash burger tacos were the best of the 3 entrees we ordered. Pretty full and hardy. We also had queso for an appetizer. It was pretty good with very good thick, chips that were good for dipping. Dinner for three with tip $85. It just wasn't very good. Def won't go back by choice. Also, half of the booths have chairs that are higher than the booth benches, so everyone sets uneven across from each other. Weird. read more

I absolutely love City Works. It's one of the best bar experiences around, boasting an impressive lineup of 90 beers on tap--with many rotating regularly--so there's always something new to try. The atmosphere is lively, energetic, and perfect for kicking back while catching whatever game or event is playing on their many TVs. The service has consistently been great, and everything I've tried from the menu has been solid. Stopped through here to catch a few college games and get some good. First off the hostess and waitress were phenomenal. They had numerous reservations And we didn't so we ended up having to sit outside. They had a cancellation and instead of giving that table to someone else they recalled we wanted to sit inside and they came and let us know about eh cancellations we were able to move inside and still have our same waitress They have a multitude of beers to select from and specialty burgers as well. I got the Oktoberfest burger which wasn't bad but could have used a little sauce but the cheese curds were delicious and made from real cheese. No question about that. read more

Okay! So it's been way too long since my last review been slacking sorry about that a lot going on LOL. I heard today was National cheeseburger day and being the cheeseburger aficionado and connoisseur that I am I decided to seek out a burger somewhere I've never been before and ended up at City Works. After some debating I decided on City Works because I've never been there obviously and based on a couple of recommendations from Friends who's opinions I value on burgers. I ordered the Scorpion Burger with french fries for pickup, the burger had Pepper jack, pickled jalapeños, five pepper jam, arugula, vine-ripened tomato, scorpion pepper aioli. I arrived about 5 minutes early and my order was not ready yet as expected but did come out on time, the burger was a bit messy but cooked a perfectly medium rare as I requested and pretty tasty too, fries were well seasoned and yummy however a bit mushy which I know can happen in to go containers so no biggie. I'm definitely gonna have to comeback to try a different burger before I can place City Works at a number on my list so stay tuned lol, better yet go check out yourself! read more

Such a nice place to try if you're looking for yummy food and great service. We started out with the cheese curds and they were delish. They had just the right amount of cheese and batter and were crispy yet airy. My boyfriend ordered the fish and chips and the fries had good seasoning, the fish wasn't overly battered and had great flavor and the slaw was nice and fresh. I got the brisket biscuit and gravy. The brisket was so tender, the biscuit was like a cheddar biscuit. So good. Overall, it was a great experience. read more

Burgers were great. Very interesting flavor combination . Husband had bacon cheeseburger, said he loved the seasoning and flavor combinations. Fries were heavily spiced for his tastes. Yelper had Southern burger. Loved the sauce, pimento cheese and candied jalapeño peppers. Food is worth five stars. Didn't get that fifth star for service reasons. Though servers were fun and well spoken, polite, we believe our simple order was misplaced when our server was pulled in to assist behind the bar. Shouldn't take over 30 minutes at 2:30 in the afternoon with only ten percent of the tables seated to get burgers out. Ambiance for a sports bar is great. We went on a Tuesday for trivia, yes on purpose. I had the bacon burger and really liked it: messy and indulgent in all the best ways, just how a burger should be. The fries were more than decent too. You could tell they were bagged, but the seasoning they used was the real star. Everyone at our table (all six of us) loved them. The nachos looked amazing, but they didn't get eaten because, well, there was a hair in them. The server apologized right away and took it off the bill, as expected, then sent the manager over to say sorry again. He also gave us a gift card to come back, which was a nice touch. On the bright side, the chips and queso were solid. Housemade chips always get points in my book. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and plan to go back, not just because of the gift card, but because, aside from the nacho mishap, we genuinely had a good time. However, the sweetest hostess was on the lookout for a table inside and not even 10 minutes later she helped move us back inside (too bad I can't remember her name). I had a very uncomfortable experience here. I arrived alone and waited for someone to take my order, but I was ignored while other whithe customers who arrived after me were helped right away. I normally don't leave reviews like this, but the difference in treatment was very noticeable and disappointing. I'm writing this review out of genuine concern for what I believe is a highly unethical practice. I've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food and service. But after my recent visit, I'm not sure if I'll be back. I ordered two specific dishes. They were initially made incorrectly--which I understand, mistakes happen. The staff was kind, remade them, and the second round was perfect. No complaints about the service in that regard. The issue was at checkout. To account for inventory, they rang up four dishes instead of two, then comped two of them. While I was only served and charged for two, the system still displayed the inflated total--including the two comped items--when calculating the suggested tip amounts. So when the screen offered 18%, 20%, and 22% tip options, those percentages were based on a falsely elevated total, not the amount I was actually paying. This means unless you're carefully watching, you could unknowingly tip a much larger amount than you intended. This isn't a technical glitch--it's a manipulative design that misleads customers at the point of sale. It exploits the trust people have when tipping for good service and can easily result in significant over-tipping. Frankly, it feels borderline fraudulent. Tipping should be based on what the guest actually pays--nothing more. I hope whoever oversees this system takes a hard look at this practice and corrects it immediately. It's not just misleading--it's wrong. Please be aware and look at your bills if they make a mistake on your food. I hope someone from ownership or executive leadership can reach out to me and explain this. This needs to be someone higher than the store level. read more

Hmm hey you mislead me by your cleaver sneaky words. That is not smoked fried chicken! And when I asked for the item the girl said that it's allot of food so I'm expecting a big bucket of smoked fried chicken(never had that) and what you served was just chicken fried steak. There was no image on the menu and your description was misleading. If it was worded accurately I more than likely would have passed but I was expecting fried chicken.honestly it's just chicken fried chicken patty with a hint of smoke. You're description on your site "Buttermilk breaded smoked chicken" What you left out was "chicken fried chicken" and you forgot to mention that it's two patties. That's misleading. Non the less it's an ok meal I believe it's premade and just reheated because the center was still cold. The honey sauce on the mash potatoes didn't mix well with the seasoning and artificial smoke flavor from the chicken patty. Putting the patties on top of the mashed potatoes and greens was not it for me I wish you had separated them. It made the chicken fried steak soggy on the bottom. The service was fabulous! We ordered an appetizer of queso which all 4 of us enjoyed. The cheddar burger was very good. The fries were too salty for me. This is a sports bar and there is a whole wall of large screen tv's so you won't miss any games. Very comfortable. Nicely decorated. Great place to visit with friends. A huge selection of beer. We made a reservation online for 6. We were quickly sat in the round table behind the hostess stand at the far left of the bar. Our waitress, Syerriah greeted us and because we had a few that had never been were looking over the menu she brought us water. A couple of us ordered beer (she referred us to the QR code since we were so far from the chalkboards) and we ordered cheese curds with caramel sauce, fried pickles and buffalo chicken dip. We started out great. Apps came out, beer was brought but when the time came to fill the two people at our table we tried to make eye contact with our server who stood at the far right end of the bar talking. I finally grabbed a hostess for help. She just had a hard time checking on us, clearing app plates to make room for entrees. Our party ordered wings, Korean braised ribs, the meat combo and the classic breakfast. All food was deemed good by all. The tv's were great for watching a very snowy Eagles game. What do you expect from a $75 lunch for two? Well I expect tasty food served and fried at the proper temperature and attentive service. But this is too much to ask at this place. We ate here during restaurant week and it was a big disappointment. Food is mediocre and service is slow. Which is very strange as it's obvious that the food had been cooked earlier and left to steam and get soggy. From the special menu my husband ordered chicken tortilla soup, smoked meatloaf with mashed potatoes and chocolate peanut butter dessert. His was much better than mine. My order was Caesar salad, fish and chips with fries and slaw and fried donuts for dessert. I don't fry at home so usually order fried things as a restaurant is far better equipped to do this. My salad was overdressed and gloppy. The fish had a nice crust but served at room temperature. The slaw was overpowered by the red onion and tasteless. The poor French fries had been cooked much earlier and were limp from being fried at the wrong temperature. The fried donuts were hard as a rock. Large upscale dinning, lots of drinks to choose from, Simple Menu and a relaxing patio. We came here around 3pm on a Tuesday. Our waiter was friendly and personable. He recommended various drinks. I love how all the drinks were displayed across the wall. This helped me pick which one I wanted. I tried the seasonal cranberry mojito. There's lot of Tvs displayed around - perfect for watching sports. It also has a modern industrial vibe going on.I recommend this place for grabbing drinks with friends or having a date night. I saw the ad for Southern Burger on the display stand right outside the restaurant doors. I was SOLD the minute I read the description! And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Slightly sweet, savory, spicy, and juicy that hit all the tastebuds in my mouth. The French fries were cooked to perfection, too. Walking by our table, one would think there were a hungry pack of wolves consuming their prey.. no talking, no interruptions, just mauling our food. Just went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and it did not disappoint. They have a nicely priced brunch menu until 3. We ordered two mains and a dessert of a cinnamon bun. My main dish was the chicken and biscuit. It was sooo sooo good. Let's put it this way, it was so delicious my husband kept stealing bites even though he said his lunch was good. The cinnamon roll was huge! Big enough to feed 4. Our server was very attentive even though the place was full. I would come again and highly recommended it.
