    The service was fantastic with 100% uptime for the first 14 months. I was praising them and promoting them to everyone I met. Then came Black Thursday down for all of the entire business day - total loss of work for me. And for the last entire month since then it's been up and down unreliably with more than a dozen outages lasting from 15 min up to many hours. They started up again and announced planned maintenance periods from 1-5a and then take hours longer than the plan to finish but after signaling that maintenance has ended but the service still goes up and down. Today again after planned maintenance I'm completely offline in the middle of my workday. I call and open a ticket faithfully every single time. I faithfully restart the modem. I request reprovisioning, firmware version checks. I do all due diligence within my control. But it's the same repeated story. So I've lowered my yelp rating of a once stellar service. What choice as a consumer do I have as recourse? They would now need to have zero outages for 6 months to earn another star back, and it's not looking good.

    Do not let Cityside contractors run any lines through your lawn or they will destroy it. They contract a company to run their lines and they destroyed my sprinklers and lawn. They left it in a complete mess. I complained and they came to fix the busted sprinkler pipe but did nothing about my lawn. I sent an email to get compensated for lawn repair and was ignored I also signed up for service which has not been great. I get outages all the time and internet is no longer as reliable as it was with Cox. I am going to give it another month and will probably switch back to Cox.

    You can't even make it up. Since I last updated my review, there was yet ANOTHER outage. Then they finally came by to clean up the cable on the back of the house (the day after they said they would). The tech said he wouldn't be able to reach it but he'd try. He tried and could reach it fine, but told my wife there was no slack and nothing could be done and he left. My wife went back in the house. No internet. I contacted them (I'm working out of the country but she said she's not dealing with it) and he came right back and said he broke the cable trying to pull on it. His tool said the fault was inside of the attic and he'd need to go in through the house and splice it. The baby was sleeping and my wife was already so pissed she told him I had to deal with it when I get back. I've been gone all week so the house will end up being without service for several days. We have starlink as a back up for working and TV, but all my development servers and automations (and security cameras, etc.) have been broken all week since they're all wired through the Cityside service and the cameras would need to be reset to connect to them to change the WiFi config over. The customer service attempts have been a 7/10 (it's not perfect, but I'm not mad at their customer service) but they can't deliver the product at all. When it works, it's fine but as far as reliability goes, it's like third world internet.

A few months ago our Internet speed went down from 100Mbps to 3Mbps. Yes, three. It took them about 3 weeks to get it fixed. In the process I have been in contact with mediocre customer service reps that are trained to copy/paste boiler plate responses. It doesn't matter whether they've given you an answer or ETA. They'd always ask, "Is there anything else that I can help you with?" so they can end it asap. This time around I had to move my service to a different address. The first rep that I talked to set up the install schedule. A day later I still didn't get any sort of confirmation. I contacted them again. Turns out that the schedule wasn't made at all. So I had to make another request. The rep that I chatted with this time was extremely slow and couldn't get a grip of the issue and task to be done. In the end, the install was scheduled. But wait... I ain't falling for this again. I immediately contacted them again to see if there was an install scheduled. Yes, there was, except that it was scheduled to be done at my OLD ADDRESS!! How can they mix this up?? Come on.. transfer of service to a new address that you were aware that was not in your system yet. Need any more clues on where to send the technician to? So, it took me the third time to get this simple job done.

Tried over the phone to get it set up / no luck. Went into the Lake Forest Verizon store on El Toro - a nice representative assisted with the set-up. Took the phone home, only to find out that the screen was locked, and we could not access the phone without inputting my husbands pin number every time. My husband is 84 years old and has dementia. I don't want that feature on his phone. Called Verizon phone customer service several times, finally thought we had the problem solved, but turns out, it was not. Went back to Verizon to get the lock feature removed. Lock feature was removed. Came home, and there were multiple additional problems with the phone. Went back to Verizon AGAIN, this time near closing. I ended up getting a gentleman who said his name was Felipe (and said he was one of the managers). He was extremely rude, wouldn't listen to me when I tried to tell him what the phone was doing, told me he would just reset it to the default settings and it would be fine. I get the phone home, and all kinds of things are going awry (i.e., when the case is closed, it shows battery full / but when you plug in the charger, it shows battery dead. An error board of about 5 messages pops up - primary message says "device failed compliancy". (Yesterday it said something about IT Admin., which I have no idea what that means). I have exhaused probably 5 hours of my personal time trying to do a simple swap-out of a phone that did not work for a phone that does work. (In addition to my complaint about the El Toro location, in the past two months, we are having SERIOUS reception issues with Verizon in our home in Lake Forest. I've lived in this house for 33 years, work full time out of my home, and NEVER had reception issues before. Now, for two months, calls get dropped / clients cannot hear me, sound goes in and out - reception is horrible!) I give the Verizon El Toro store a -1 for service / and right now I give Verizon corporate the same score for their service. I have four devices with Verizon, and I will be shopping for a new service provider...
