Alan is simply the best Land Rover mechanic around. If you have a Rover it should go to Alan. Forget ECR or the 4x4 Center or any other place. He will diagnose the problem quickly and find the most cost effective way to resolve the issue. He never upsells or tries to sneak anything by you. I wish Alan could fix all my cars.... read more

If you own a Land Rover in southern New England... this is THE PLACE TO GO FOR SERVICE. I brought my Land Rover in for routine service, with a check engine light on... let me tell you, without a doubt, walking through the door and seeing all the Land Rovers up on lifts, and watching the mechanics work on them, they know their stuff. They performed all the work I wanted in a short period of time, looked over a few other areas, and made suggestions on how to care for my Rover. I got in my Rover to leave, and noticed it was cleaner than when I brought it in. Started it up, check engine light was off, and it stayed off. Engine sounded great, and it drove perfectly. I have had a few bad experiences with the dealership that I purchased my Range Rover Evoque and am extremely distrustful of the dealership. I came across Cityside Garage Limited and read the reviews on Yelp. I took a chance and called them and explained it all and they took my car in right away. From the beginning Kylie was fabulous at helping me and answering my questions. Bob, the mechanic who worked on my car, was fabulous, honest and trustworthy. They did a great job on my car and the follow up. I can't say enough about how glad I am that I found this company. I had my p38 serviced at Cityside for 7 years. Probably spent between $6,000 - $7,000 for repairs over this time period. For the first several years I thought they were great mechanics / people, but over time my perception changed. Initially, my perception was changed because I was driving my vehicle one day when the rover stopped running. I then discovered that Cityside had installed a boat battery in my vehicle without telling me.....and the battery had quickly died... yes, a boat battery.. The last straw occurred when I was informed that my alternator had worn out after I had purchased it new from Cityside approximately 1 1/2 years earlier. Being a loyal customer, I contacted Alan to ask what he could offer to do to help me to remedy this situation ( as my experience with new alternators is that they generally last 6 - 10 years ). He responded that he could not do anything. He did not even offer to do a free installation or anything to assist me. Not a mechanic I will ever go to again. Alan is wealth of knowledge when it comes to Land Rover. We take our Discovery 2003 for all repairs and many times Alan can diagnose problem over the phone so I can anticipate how long my wait will be. We drive about 45 minutes each way to have our LR serviced because Alan is simply the best and his rates are much better than the dealer. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Bob is fantastic. He was so wonderful to work with. I brought my 1994 Discovery 1 in here for a full overhaul after I bought it at auction. I wanted to make sure that it was safe and good to go before I brought it home. I left it with Bob and he went through everything with a fine tooth comb. He explained everything to me and fixed everything that it needed. They are also super respectful and patient. I had lots of questions and at no point did I ever feel I was bothering them or they thought I was being a pain. I need to travel 5 hours to get to this place, but I will never bring my Disco anywhere else. I also found their prices to be very reasonable. I did not see a large mark up on parts, and their service rate is very fair, especially in light of the fact they are true experts in their field. When you walk into the shop you see cars with license plates from all over the country being worked on. People bring their cars from very far away to come to here and I think that speaks for itself. I've been taking my 1982 Land Rover to Alan since the day I bought it over 5 years ago. He is not only an honest mechanic, but a superb Land Rover mechanic as well. I had to write a review about one of the really great guys that works here - I haven't had my car worked on here, but Gerald got a scanner from me and found an old slide of my mom in it and tracked me down and sent the slide back. He didn't need to do that at all and I think it speaks volumes about the sort of person he is and I have a feeling they probably treat you right here. read more
