Took minutes to even need help and the person up there seem like they hated their life more than anyone I've ever met. Once I was helped you are required to tip, even though the person looks like they'd rather be anywhere else but talking to me after that. I spent more time waiting for my pins to set up then actually bowling. I spent six minutes where my pins wouldn't even come down even after I reset them three times, I went up to the front and after three minutes, he saw me four times and still didn't come up. horrible experience don't go here. As a ex employee,i would not recommend here, the management is very unprofessional, no communication, and very rude, The owner never failed to make me feel like i was dumb, talking to employees with much disrespect, getting onto employees infront of customers for common simple mistakes, and overworking the workers, as a customer service representative, was told to do things out of my pay range and would be sent home if not done, doing demolition work, moving grout, concrete and heavy tiling around all day, cleaning the owners car mats, does not sound like customer service representative, the owner treats his employees differently based on how much he likes them, the owner is just very rude and has made multiple employees cry, the other manager on the other hand was very nice but was not professional when it came to scheduling, hours, and communication, there have been plenty of times when the schedule for the week was changed without letting employees know it has changed and expected them to figure it out on their own when the schedules are sent out from her and only on paper. This place could be so much better but its simple things that need to be fixed in order to do that, i wouldnt recommend this place and i hope someone higher up steps in and takes a closer look at whats really going on. read more

All my son wanted for his birthday was to go bowling. Him & my husband frequent here so why not go for his bday too. The only big issue I had was trying to reserve lanes. I was told on a Friday & again Saturday the manager would call me that day & didn't. Instead emailed me late the day before I wanted to reserve. read more

The A/C is super cold!!! It was 110 outside but so chilly in the alley. We loved it. Lots of families and birthday parties were happening at 7 pm in a Saturday. Friendly people all around. Arcade has a lot of pay-to-win games but we all won easily and the prices were from 50 cents to one dollar to play. Outside the exterior is very outdated but inside it's been redone. Yes there are some minor cosmetic issues but you came for the nostalgia, not the overpriced-Main Event-commercialized vibes. The concessions are cheap, too! $2 for a huge soda (Pepsi products) and $3 for a box of popcorn. Wonderful time. If you want to have a true bowling experience then come down. read more

First time here, there were pros and cons. The staff at the front was nonchalant and he was vaping at the cash register. The facility was clean and they had almost all the lanes open. Had a chicken Philly and tots. The food was fresh and the bread was toasted, it was very good for "bar" food. I was going to get a drink from the bar but they only had beer and the bartender did not stay at the bar, he would go sit in the back so not the best service in that regard. read more

Well maintained floors and lanes Great place and is very hospitable with people and visitors Has a friendly atmosphere and great food Don't mind the parking lot that is semi empty It is just that no one comes here and it is realy a great place There are pro bowlers in this bowling alley that are willing to help you at any time It is much cheaper than main event although it doesn't have black light but it is a very fun place on weekends. It is a hole in the wall joint that not everyone knows about so that's why the parking lots are empty and it looks kind of sketchy but it's a very nice place well-maintained well-kept, and Very very very friendly hospitality I have been bowling here for the past three years. The only problem that I would have is that in the past three years, the prices have jumped because of economy from about $15 an hour including shoes to 25 an hour including shoes. read more

The building is kept way too cold for anyone to enjoy the bowling. When we asked them to turn the temperature up, the reply was that Josh the owner kept it that way to keep the smell down. As a long time league bowler, I will always support the centers that support the bowlers equally as well. Having said that, Cityview is at a crossroads. The current general manager has been in the bowling industry for many years and is one of the nicest people that you will ever meet. However, he is recovering from a recent health scare and has not been able to devote nearly as much of his time to the center, compared to recent years. As a result, the day-to-day duties that are handled by the current staff are simply not being taken care of. In particular, the mechanic's team has slipped dramatically when it comes to repair and maintenance of the pinsetters, lanes, approaches and lane conditioning machine. A summer league recently concluded their 12 week schedule and in at least 6 of those 12 weeks, there was at least one major breakdown every single night during that stretch, with some problems being so severe that the teams were forced to go to a different pair of lanes to complete their session. A recent upgrade of the computerized scoring system malfunctioned on several occasions and even had times where the weekly schedule couldn't be downloaded into the system to let teams know what pair they would be bowling on, along with the intercom system with the front desk being totally inoperable the final two weeks. The current ownership group also has USA Bowl in Dallas and has been spending a considerable bit of money and resources in upgrading that center, which had not seen any significant improvements since the last renovation in 2000. Although Cityview has had a few cosmetic adjustments done within the last 18 months, including new flooring along the concourse and a complete upgrade of the Pro Shop (Ballard's Bowling Solutions, the best in Fort Worth), the restaurant and bar have had no significant upgrades or changes in nearly 30 years. The snack bar in particular looks like a complete throwback to the '80s and not in a good way. Hopefully the owners will realize sooner than later that they have a "gold mine" in their possession and will open their pocketbook to give the facility the TLC that it truly deserves. Cityview is one of two remaining bowling centers within the Fort Worth city limits and their only competition was from a center about 4 miles away that closed last year, so in effect, they are the only option in that part of town. read more

The management is terrible! I am in a league here and I left my shoes there. I called and told the young man he went and found them and said he had them behind the counter. Told him I couldn't get them right away. Said no problem. My Brutha had a stroke in Augusta so I missed the next week of league play. Came in the following week and told him I needed my shoes. He went into the office area and she (manager) told him she through them away. She couldn't look me in the eye ansd tell me why? She mumbled "we can't keep them forever." Forever!!! It hasn't even been 2 weeks. She has always been a nasty angry women but this itakes the cake. Play offs next week and I will never step foot in there again. Not only is the staff unprofessional the lanes will destroy your bowling ball. I don't recommend anyone going here and using their personal ball. Two of my balls that were purchased last week had chunks taken out of them from the ball return. Even though both balls were purchased at this bowling alley they only want to replace one of them. Also the overall appearance of the bowling alley is honestly disgusting the bathrooms are never cleaned and you can tell the floors are never mopped or vacuumed. I watched staff at the end of the night clean certain parts of the floor with a napkin instead of mopping. I would say you get what you pay for, but this place is also overpriced. I'd rather pay more money and bowl at Main Event. read more

Although there is a mandate in place for wearing masks, THIS establishment does NOT enforce it! While you're eating out drinking, it's understandable not to wear a mask, but otherwise they weren't concerned. There are signs saying no masks, no service, but they're crying Wolf! When asking management about their policy regarding masks and mentioning the mandate regarding it, the employee responded that they have been very busy and he hasn't had an opportunity to check the lanes. After which, he called for someone over the intercom. I told him that the same way that he called for someone, was the same way that he needed to remind his patrons to abide by the current mandate. This used to be such a nice respectable place that my family would frequent during the summer. I hope nobody becomes ill being their carelessness and relaxed state regarding the mandate. COVID is a real thing!! There isn't even 6 feet spacing between the lanes! City view lanes is pathetic!!! Money over people's safety. I'm very disappointed. read more

My son was treated poorly and when I called to discuss it with a manager, the manager laughed at me and insulted me, with another employee when he thought the phone was hung up... but it wasn't. When he came "back to the phone" I told him that I could hear what he had said and he simply replied, "So!" My bf and I recently completed our MASTERS DEGREES! We were on a budget but we knew we wanted to have fun so we tried out the bowling lanes!! On thursdays (and im assuming the rest of the weekend) they have $1.99 games after 9pm. This place has a bar and an extensive food menu. It was truly the perfect place to drink/laugh/play on a budget! The place is clean and the staff is very friendly! I suggest coming here for sure :) read more

Nice place to bowl. Lanes are well lit, approaches are in good condition. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The food is surprisingly good. Especially the pizzas and quesadillas. I wish they carried Landshark lager, but they only have the sign over the bar that makes you THINK that they do, lol. Been bowling here for 3 years. Very good pro shop as well. The lanes and spectators seating is nice. We travel Nationally for bowling tournaments and are prepared to pay plenty for food. But if you don't want us to carry in our own food you need to offer more than popcorn and hot dogs. read more

It's a okay bowling ally. It's nothing fancy kinda old and dirty but it does the job. They don't treat walkin customers the same as they do the leagues. Also their food restaurant area only seems to be open during league times or in the evening. I'll be back just because it's the only one in the area but if a nicer one opened Id definitely go to the new one. read more

Howdy. I have been coming to these lanes for about thirty years, and I have never received an indifferent, oblivious to customer service attitude as I received from Colleen, a retirement age lady with short gray hair working the afternoon and evening of Friday, September 9th, 2011. I was the straggler of a party of 10 that showed for our third work party get together at the lanes that afternoon. My only fault, if you could call it that, was arriving at the lanes in a hurry, and not noticing the "no outside food or drink sign" at the door, the fact that I was wearing a ball cap didn't help either. We'd two other work parties there, and enjoyed the pizza on site in the past. This time, the office boss didn't buy the pizza. I asked a worker of the large pizza size, decided to do something different and order a pizza from a local business as the pizza didn't seem big enough. The pizza arrived, and as I was tipping the driver, Colleen was on hand to demand that I was not allowed to have the pizza as it's posted outside that no outside drink or food is allowed, and that you (as in me) were offered the food package and turned it down. She was obviously upset and emphatic. The truth is this; I was never offered a "food package" by any staff, she was confusing me with the person that had arrived and paid for the shoes, lanes, etc. as I arrived late. This was her first mistake: bad information. Incidentally, the "food package" in question was for six people, we had nine people at the time, so our supervisor passed on it. After the awkward moment, the puzzled-pizza delivery guy left the lanes, as started to leave with the pie, I returned to my co-workers to advise that we could not enjoy the (cheaper and better pizza, I'm sure) because Colleen was just informing us of the rule. Our boss said something to her, and she was indifferent. I was flustered, I can't leave a pizza in a car at that temperature, it could go bad, she obviously wasn't going to leave our area until I took the pie outside and literally hovered (another mistake) over our work party until I left with it. As I exited, I turned to her and said that this was our third work party there, and it would be nice...She immediately interrupted and said "No!" (a rude mistake) Luckily, a co-worker was leaving at the time to pick up her child at daycare, so the pizza was enjoyed by others at least. After this rather dramatic incident, thanks to Colleen, I was informed of two things by staff working near our lanes. This person claimed that he didn't know the reason that she was behaving in this manner today. She was harsh, this person admitted. This employee approached me to tell me this, I didn't approach the staff. The worker also allowed that when we call ahead to let them know that we are having a get together, how many people, etc., they are more likely to let us bring food inside the lanes which made no sense. We had called ahead, and, upon arrival, we were treated with indifference by yet another employee, the fit general manager, Bill, who acted as if we were less important than the league players that were soon to arrive. I am not a malicious person. If I would have seen the sign, I would not have had the pizza man deliver the pie. I would have purchased the pizza(s) on site as in the past. I still find it odd that none of the staff said anything about the 72 oz. cup that I had with me the entire time. It's hard to miss that. We actually discussed the fact of moving the party to newer lanes closer to our office near downtown Ft. Worth in lieu of driving the distance, but we decided to return to the familiar bowling alley. It's a shame. The lanes are stunning with the aquatic mural along the back wall, everything one could want at an alley, etc. I made a mistake, I'll admit that, but, as is typical in these instances, that's not the point. It's the way the staff handled the situation that is most disconcerting. I have been coming to these lanes since 1985, give or take. I have to laugh; that was the only building on Oakmont at that time, but I will never return, my peers, and supervisor agree. We will go to the lanes that are closer to our office instead, and we will recommend that others do not patronize the facility because of the management, or mismanagement that day. The website is misleading. It is not priced only per game, it is priced per game and per person. So weekend price says $4.50 per game; however, it is $4.50 per game per person. That comes out to be $18, not including shoes, for two people to play one game. I asked to speak to the manager to question the website pricing and she was very rude. She said it is per person and any bowler knows that. I said the website doesn't say per person, it only says per game, so maybe I'm not a bowler and she came back saying clearly I'm not. Instead of trying to earn my business and correct the misleading website prices, she gladly turned me away without a problem. I, personally, will not be going here ever again! read more
