Stopped in here today with my oldest son. As soon as the chips arrived I knew this would be different, there were still a corn based chip but nothing like the tortilla chips at a Mexican restaurant. The dip seemed to be mayonnaise based, tasted fine but that much mayo isn't my thing. We started with the Colombian empanadas and they were really good! I had a horchata as well. Being honest the chips, horchata, and empanadas were almost enough to fill me up as it is. The sandwiches came out, and they were massive and dense. This was nothing like the Cuban sandwiches I have had elsewhere. Like the description was the same - melted cheese, ham, roast pork, pickles, on a roll with mayo. But it was done totally different. The pork was a pulled pork which had obviously been slow cooked. The ham wasn't just deli ham. The mayo had garlic mixed in. The bread was a fantastic Cuban loaf. This was just so dense and filling I could only eat half. My son had the pastor sandwich and reported about the same. He had the plantains and I had the green fries. The fries were interested but not really to my taste; again, they seemed to have a mayo based sauce on them which just is not to my taste. Found this little hole in the wall off of Yelp! I ordered the Asada Sandwich with fried plantains. The sandwich was a good size. I ended up taking half home. It was delicious. Plantains were really good as well. They had a good menu that I can't wait to try. Service was very good. Really good Cuban/Latin food. Small restaurant but quaint. Go and give it a try. read more

I thought I already posted a review of this incredible little restaurant but seems I didn't so here goes. This is a jewel in the crown of Summerville and I'll probably be sorry I gave the secret away. Designed to be take out rather than dine in, this little spot has food quality and flavor I haven't had anywhere else in the Low Country. There should be a line out the door every day. It was certainly ok, but not great. Service was mediocre but nothing over the top. Our sandwiches seemed a little sloppy and the Cuban had an entire knuckle bone in it! I guess that means it's cooked in house but still a little sloppy. Flavor was bland and canned sodas certainly were surprising. We won't be back. read more

We got there at 7:45 not realizing they closed @ 8:00. We were going to go somewhere else. The staff (believe the owner) insisted we come in and eat. The food was amazing, the Cuban sandwich was very filling and the Green fries made a great combo. The hot sauce was spicy but had great flavor. We sociable staff made the ambiance nice. Incredible flavor. Great service. The line to get food from this establishment should be out the door every day. This is a hidden gem in the crown of Summerville. We had such a wonderful experience here! We ordered the chicken and beef empanadas, a Cuban sandwich, and a Pastor sandwich. Every single dish was made to order with fresh ingredients, and you could really taste the authenticity in the flavors. The empanadas were perfectly crisp on the outside with rich, savory fillings. This is a cozy spot for authentic fusion Cuban cuisine. I have to say the decorations and music creates an intimate, personal ambience. Creating a unique atmosphere where you're not just sitting and eating, you're enjoying and having an experience of a great meal and a companion with a great conversation. The restaurant hours and menu are limited since they just opened a few weeks ago. As we walked in we were greeted by the restaurant staff and immediately served with a complimentary Naan bread with Lentil dipping sauce. Which was delicious. We ordered the mix empanadas (one chicken and one of beef). The taste was on point and best of all it's homemade!! As the main course we ordered the Pork Mignon and Lomo Salteado. Both dishes were served with a generous portion and tasted fresh, not overcooked and marinated to perfection. We also ordered a side of Tostones, what can I say.. yummy. Since they are in a soft opening stage, you may bring your bottle of wine to enjoy it as you dine a delicious meal. Lastly, we ordered a Flan and the flavors are all good, not overcooked nor too hard. The texture and flavor of the flan was really good. My wife loved it and she knows how to do it. Had a wonderful dinner here recently. My husband and I shared the Roasted Garlic Appetizer with good size shrimp and potatoe dumplings, big pieces garlic, and a delicious broth. Perfect size for sharing. My husband had the Lomo Saltado which was recommended by our waiter, Kenneth, who was very helpful with his menu suggestions. I had the Coconut Chicken and it had such a savory, unique flavor. We also shared the Chocolate Flan. They serve chips and a very good creamy dip when you are seated. It is BYOB, and they close at 8pm. This was our first time having Cuban food, and we will definitely be back. For the quality of food at this price point, you can not beat it. read more

Little local spot (really little) but food is really good. Menu is small, but enough variety to hopefully have something for everyone. Love the plantains that come on the side with meals. Also, usually not super excited about black beans on the side, but they do something magical, and they are delicious and flavorful! Def not bland and boring. CRAZY GREAT!!! Authentic & DELICIOUS!!! One of my best friend's parents were from Bolivia. Once in a while, they would let me stay for dinner.......those were always unforgettable meals, because they were so authentic and so delicious! They were soulful and blessed the pallet! The kind of food that you felt privileged to be eating.......this place reminded me of that, instantly!! I had the mushroom chicken, which isn't on the menu, but only available on Tuesdays......sooo completely worth it!!! The two plantains, that accompanied the meal, were the built-in dessert! Those were amazing also!!! My husband is the Cuban sammie aficionado; despite the fact that I really do dig on pork, a Cuban was never my scene. This thing was HUGE and he urged me to take a bite.......it was then that I COMPLETELY understood WHY his eyes were rolling into the back of his head when he was eating the first half!!! I asked him if it was better than the Cuban he had in Florida, which is his slide rule to compare with every time he has a Cuban somewhere......this sammie beat Florida's version all to hell!!! I found this restaurant ordering GrubHub it was free delivery cause I'm a prime member when I tell you the food is delicious. I ordered the Cuban steak sandwich big proportion very fresh very moist. The green fries perfectly seasoned. I don't know what the green sauce is but it's delicious. I also ordered the guacamole for the first time in a long time. There's not a bunch of fillers. I ordered food from here once and was pretty satisfied with what i got. But the second time i ordered i got a box of 10 tacos and was very disappointed. The meat was dry (steak, pastor, carnitas) and they didnt put any salsas in the box. 10 tacos, you would think salsa would be standard. I also ordered their Birra sandwich and it was also dry, but i wasnt worried because it comes woth Consumè... and it came with no consumè. I know ive had better from this place but for how expensive this all was youd expect some consistency. I will not be ordering here again. read more

Came in to eat lunch today, walked into about a quarter after opening, got seated right away, got to order promptly and the food came out faster than I could have a small conversation on the phone. But when the plate arrived I couldn't wait to hang up to eat this delicious meal that was placed in front of me. I ordered the Cuban, and Green Fries. It was the perfect balance of pork, pickles, and mustard. I think the only thing that could have made it better was Mojo sauce to really tie in the acidity as the mustard lacked that portion.
