Great place to grab a beer and a bite to eat. It's always easy to get a seat at the bar or have the host/ess seat you at a table. CJ Finz has a good selection of beer on tap and everything I've tried on the menu so far has been on point. My favorite appetizer - fried pickles. Try them. read more

I was really pleasantly surprised by how fresh everything was! I just went in yesterday night on a whim after finding myself in old town, but the food was delicious. I split a Black and blu salad and a fried oyster po boy and both were really nice portions and . The service was fast and friendly and even though we came in to dine at "bar" hour on a Monday, the vibe was loud, but still comfy. The food was pretty good. read more

We love this restaurant and have been fans from its beginning. Probably have tried every food item on the menu, and have never once had a bad meal. We had company in town this weekend and wanted to show off our quaint downtown area, and wanted to also bring them to a restaurant that would be a guaranteed good meal. So, CJ Finz it was, and as guaranteed, it was absolutely delicious. This owner runs a tight ship and the whole restaurant works fluently from the bartenders, to the wait staff, to the bus staff. By the way, the rockfish is to die for, and their mixed drinks are solid and not watered down like some restaurants. Highly recommended. read more

My family has been to CJ Finz at least a dozen times, and it's always one of our favorite options when deciding where to go out to. Lately their oysters have been the best and very quick out of the kitchen. They are local oysters and have great size, flavor, and are super fresh. They have a nice selection of beer and cocktails. Their seating is a bit limited and if there's a wait there's no room for those waiting, can seem a little unorganized at times. We always try to get there before 6 on a Saturday to avoid any wait. On my most recent visit I ordered a dish that I hadn't had since my first, the shrimp and grits. I have to say that it wasn't nearly as good as my first visit and its clear that the recipe has changed. It was essentially a bowl of cheese grits with 6 shrimp and a bacon Cajun pan sauce over the top. The shrimp where perfectly cooked, let's not over look that. But the pan sauce was very salty despite a meager amount of bacon. The cheese grits were fine and I love grits, but the dish lacked the quality that other items have. I'd probably order something different next time. read more

Went here on Memorial Day weekend and it was really good. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. Don't know his name, he was bearded and tattooed. He took good care of us for a short visit. We had a couple of beers and ordered steamed spice shrimp. Beer was cold and the shrimp were great, spiced just right. The food is amazing and very fresh! I actually have cravings for the She Crab soup-- it is that good. My only complaints are the prices are a little high and the portions are little small and I can't stand their chairs/tables. It's not super comfortable in there. Went back for the Mother's day brunch (which my spouse said would be amazing) and it was! We ate at the top porch and our server was fast and efficient. The food was great too- loved the crab with eggs and English muffin. Also, the bloody Mary's were great! Big improvement. read more

We went here for Valentine's Day dinner. We were pleasantly surprised. It was late, after 8:30 p.m., when we were able to get dinner so we figured we might run into a lot of items not being available. That wasn't the case at all. I ordered the Rockfish stuffed with crab and hubby ordered the steak with crab cake. Both entrees were absolutely delicious, let me just say that the Rockfish with seasoned wonderfully, the she crab soup that they pour over the top of the crap really brought out the flavors. I also loved the brussel sprouts with bacon. My husband's steak was a bit overcooked, but since there was a 40-minute wait for our food to come out he decided not to send it back. That's the only criticism I have is the length of time it took for a food to come out. They have several other menu items that I cannot wait to try so we will be back to try to try some of them. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a fresh, welcoming environment with great service and yummy food. I find it difficult to make a decision when ordering for lunch or dinner, simply because everything is so delicious! The shrimp and grits and their newest seafood and steak flatbread are a "must try". Old Towne Manassas was definitely in need of an establishment like this. I was on my way to work when I noticed their new deck and couldn't help but stop in to see a few of my newest favorite bartenders! Stopped at CJ Finz again and happened upon the newly expanded brunch menu. Best brunch we have had in a while and great prices! The beef tips, biscuits and gravy dish was a big portion and delicious. My husband raved about it and hardly ate the rest of the day. We treated ourselves to the crab fries for a starter and they didn't disappoint. Never hurts to have dogfish on tap. We are looking forward to going back to explore more items on the weekend brunch menu soon. read more

Tried it tonight - was so excited to see a seafood restaurant in Old a Town. Staff was great, drink selections great. Food - disappointing. I ordered the oyster dinner. Flavorful, cooked correctly, but the smallest oysters I've ever seen! And not that many. Thimble size serving of slaw that was fibrous and tough. Turns out it was broccoli slaw. Great fries and a lot of them, but I wanted -and paid for - oysters. Husbands' fish was - well - fishy. Umm. Maybe appetizers and a drink will do me if I go back. read more

This has to be one of the worst dining experiences ever!! The food was just outright disgusting, slimy, and took forever to come out from the kitchen. The server made the experience even worse. My family and I were treated like second class citizens.....guess you have to know someone to be treated with respect in this restaurant. this place is nice & clean, atmosphere is friendly. wish the outside was bigger though to have more outside seating! ive had the blue finz, peach sangria & regular margarita.. they were all nice, presentable & tastey! i was here with a group of girlfriends last weekend & we all shared some apps. the crab spinach artichoke dip was delicious, as well as the steamed spiced shrimp (lots of flavor in that spice) but i think it should also come with butter vs. cocktail sauce. the fried pickles were delicious but i do not think they give you enough at all (it was a group of 7 of us & we could only get 2 pickle slices if that & pickles are cheap lol so i think if it is supposed ot be an appetizer there should be more in the bowl). my favorite thing here is the chili lime shrimp tacos! theyre pretty stuffed & the avocado sauce is great. but i do think they should come with 3 tacos, or 2 tacos atleast with a side as 2 arent very filling especially if you do not get an appetizer. i was able to try the stuffed rockfish & it was great! no fishy taste at all & the brussel sprouts & potatoes were so yummy as well. read more

Went to CJ Finz for the first time tonight. We recently moved to the Manassas area and hadn't been downtown to eat yet. For what we were in the mood for, we chose them. Walk in and loved the atmosphere immediately. It's a little on the small side but don't let that fool you. This place is awesome. Little history of the place: they brought up some of the OBX feel to this restaurant. We LOVE the OBX so this is right up our alley. Love that they carry a large assortment of beers and wine for being a smaller place. Food: amazing. The chili lime shrimp tacos were on point. I don't typically like seafood tacos. Ever. But this one sounded really good. I'm so glad I got it. Friday night is $10 fish and chips night. The fish was the freshest and best fish I've ever tasted (my friend shared a bite) in any restaurant ever. They did super good. Chris, one of the owners (the C in CJ Finz) came over to ask how our meal was and we got to talking to him that his food was awesome and he gave us some history of the place and he gave us some other pointers of things to do and try in the area. Sometimes when you're eating your meal and people talk to you for a long period of time, it gets a little awkward. Not here. Not with this guy. He is awesome. You want good food, good atmosphere, good drinks and good people? Go to CJ Finz. I think it may be our new favorite spot. read more
