I regular this spot. They have a full bar with some great beers and also great seafood. My go to is the lobster grilled cheese sandwhich. It has coleslaw, slabs of lobster, melted cheese put into a perfect sandwhich. Don't leave without trying it. My other favorites are the oysters rockefeller which were perfectly seasoned, and their fresh raw oysters. The she crab soup is a little on the saltier side, I usually order the she crab soup fries and ask for the soup on the side so I can dip my fries in versus the soup being poured on top. For dessert i usually go with the molten lava cake and ask for extra vanilla ice cream because im not sharing mine lol When its busy, service can be slow but they're usually great. I arrived for lunch around noon on a weekend. The bar was *packed* with people who must've been doing a bar crawl. I stood up front like an a-hole by myself for 8 minutes before I was even acknowledged. (Pro-tip: if it's seat yourself there should be a visible sign). When I was finally greeted I was told, by who I believe was an owner or manager, the 6 empty tables were reserved for a party starting at 2p. Like I said.... I got there at noon... I was offered a seat at the bar or at the window - but because I was waiting for friends I opted to stand and continue waiting. When they finally got there I was acknowledged by a server who said "sit wherever you'd like." Of course we questioned the reserved tables, to which they said "oh, well, as long as you're out by two it should be fine." Anyway, we sat at a hightop - the chairs were a little uncomfortable - short on the actual length of the seat and quite hard. My friends ordered half a dozen oysters (chincoteague) and a pound of spiced steamed shrimp. I sampled neither but they liked it. Said it was an interesting take on the shrimp (look at my pic and you'll see why), and that the oysters were good - not too salty at all. One friend remarked the only raw item they offered in the "raw bar" were the oysters lol For entrees, one ordered the po boy, one the fish tacos, and two the lobster roll. Everyone seemed satisfied with their order. The tacos said you could definitely taste the wasabi; also, his came with no side. For $15 or so they should throw in rice. The lobster roll, what I ordered, was stuffed to the brim with lobster. From what I've heard, lobster rolls are usually drenched in mayonnaise, but this one was not (which I was happy about). I think I just don't have a taste for lobster so I didn't finish the whole thing. I've only ever had it twice before (at other locations) and didn't like it either time. I don't know why I ordered it. I will probably come back and try the fried cod (saw a plate pass by and it looked amazing). I guess next time I'll just go ahead and seat myself though. read more

I have been going to Finz for many years and the food is adequate, but lately the waitress, Amelia, has had a problem with my adult child. On several occasions she has called the manager to have them and friends kicked out of the restaurant. Childish as hell! As a regular, and someone who has probably spent thousands of dollars there...that's come to an end. I will no longer be giving them another cent. Amelia needs to grow up and act more professionally, and the manager needs to do what is right if there is any shot at regaining our business. read more

The food is 5 stars! no doubt about it, everyone in our group was 100% happy with their meals. The dish to have is the "Stuffed" Rockfish. It's a broiled rockfish fillet, topped with a crab cake and the clam chowder. Spectacular. I had the cedar plank salmon, and it as fantastic, prob farm-raised, but the quality and cooking was wonderful. All of the seafood dishes were top-notch, the sides were great too (roasted veggies and potatoes) Desserts looked fantastic, I didn't have dessert, but several in our group did and the bread pudding, the salted caramel cake were all popular. I'm deducting a "half-star" for the somewhat loud music. It's an interesting mix of tunes(which I'm good with), just a little bit on the loud side Great service. Great place. The fries were good, but this is the $16 lobster roll. Some of the meat was still frozen in the middle like it was thawed out. Absolutely no flavor. I contacted the restaurant to let them know, and they just said "Ok". Didn't apologize or offer to fix it. I would not recommend the lobster roll if you've ever had a real lobster roll. The food here is just okay. I remember enjoying it more when it first opened, but my last few visits over the last couple of years haven't been great. To start off, it's a smaller place and things are currently just a little too crammed for my covid comfort. My fiancée told me that covid restrictions have recently been eased so I assume they are meeting current guidelines, but it's the closest I've sat to anyone in a year and only being half vaccinated, I'm not comfortable with it yet. So on to the food. I saw another poster describe the crab dip as tasting like cream cheese and that's accurate. It's not bad, but it definitely lacks crab or even crab flavor. I think maybe they put a little crab on top, but that's it. You won't find anymore in the dip. The steaks we ordered were way over cooked and had to be sent back. That's fine, but it wasn't communicated to us at all what was going on. We were left with our full plates and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to eat everything else and just leave my steak or what. The steaks took awhile to come out and once they did it was the whole meal with the sides, as well. It was quite wait to get them too so I just ended up packing mine up. That being said, it seems they were backed up all around. Our server was nice enough, but he seemed to be serving a lot of tables and wasn't as attentive as I would've liked. You do the best you can, but it still doesn't make for an enjoyable dining experience. I think this place is best suited for some casual drinks, maybe some apps and some of their raw bar (maybe since I've never had it, hah) but yeah don't go here if you want a nice dinner and super attentive service. Oh geez! I have to edit just to say it got worse. Heated up my replacement steak at home and it's basically raw. Tastes like burnt grill and blood. I get maybe they were trying to overcompensate for it being overcooked before, but the burnt flavor isn't appealing either. Lesson learned! I'll leave the 3 star rating off the few times I enjoyed it when it first opened, but based of this visit it's definitely more like 2 stars. read more

Ordered two lobster rolls which come with a side of fries. Paid $40 plus $5 tip for take out. Called to let them know the fries were not included with the order. Was told I could come get them. It is a 15 minute round trip and I explained that I did not want to do that because the lobster rolls would not be fresh. I was then hung up on. All I expected was a sincere apology and maybe an offer for credit next time I ordered. I work at a local business and recommend CJ Finz all the time to our customers looking for the best place in old town Manassas. I will no longer recommend and I will no longer be a customer of yours. They have developed some creative choices like the crab stuffed rock fish and blackened mahi mahi that you'll find delicious. They also have a a daily specials menu where you'll find things like fresh scallops and lobster risotto. All this with great quality and service at a reasonable price. They do a great job with their local and regional draught beer selection. You'll find Jessie's Girl from Bad Wolf Brewing as well as selections from Heritage and Old Bust Head. Anytime, the owner of a restaurant comes around and checks on the tables I think that's a good sign. He's engaged and cares about his establishment. And I think it shows in the quality of the food. The atmosphere is not outstanding, kind of industrial, but it has a great beer selection and the food that I have tried has always been high-quality. My dad stayed with me for a couple months and this ended up being his favorite place so I've been several times recently. (Late 2022). I think he would have gone every night if he could! He loved the raw oysters and the beer. We also enjoyed the fried oyster platter and the poke salad bowl. My friend got the fries and said they were the best he's ever had. The food is excellent. Perfectly crispy fried calamari with tender squid. Blackened mahi had just the right amount of heat with a perfect fresh, moist and flaky cut of fish (I literally grew up at a marina - I know fresh), with nicely roasted Brussels sprouts and flavorful roasted mash potatoes. Sweet and succulent sea scallops with luscious cauliflower mash. Juicy burger with a perfectly proportioned pretzel bun. And a great crab poutine they call "crab fries." Very clean with good distancing and cleaning protocols and outdoor tables. This is now on our "protect local restaurants by frequenting them" list. read more

Had Monday $1 oysters and they were delicious! I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious the rock fish was with crab cake. I catch fresh fish a lot and am usually skeptical of inland seafood restaurants but I will be returning for seafood. They must have fresh seafood brought in frequently and they handle it perfectly. I I didn't unfortunately didn't like the Crab Stuffed Rockfish. It was extremely dry and the crab cake lacked in flavor. Walked in, small place but high tables and low tables were at over well to make it seem roomy. The waitress with super nice & relatable--can't remember her name sadly. I ordered the lobster roll. I've never had one so didn't have anything to compare it to. It didn't taste like much?? I added salt and pepper and became a lot better. My boyfriend ordered the crab legs. He's a regular there so he knew how they were. Pretty tasty and came out the shell easily. The mussels were good, I've had better. Crostini has a great grill-esque flavor. The rosemary lemon mojito was a waste of 8$. Barely tasted the liquor, could only really taste the rosemary and seltzer soda. Over all good experience. They have a BOGO crab leg special on tuesdays, so I'd go back for that. read more
