1pm July 06, they just wrap up the job about an hour after I called off from the previous plumbing company, and the charge is $157 instead $1500 (The other company ). This moring our rental unit had a back flow from the toilet, the tenant called other comapny wanted to charge $1500 just in order to clean up the clogged up toilet. When I found out I called CJ plumbing right away and they were prompt and courteous, most importantly they got the job's done within a short period of time and charged us with a very reasonable rate of $157, I am really appreciated honesty how they operate the business with experienced technicians. Since I was very skeptical and there are many negative reviews, I felt compelled to share my personal surprise and complete satisfaction with this company from start to finish. Before calling CJ I called 3 other companies recommended by neighbors, but after multiple calls and messages none of them answered or even bothered to call me back, even to this day over a month later. I know plumbers are busy but unacceptable. CJ's receptionist answered my 1st call immediately and always picked up when I called, she was always helpful, though sometimes seemed a bit confused, but always delivered and moved things along very quickly. The owner called me personally to clarify the situation after I emailed all the details they requested & got back to me with a kinda high but reasonable quote for the potentially large scope of replacing at least 1 main common stack and other work. Then they came out within a week. My property manager recommended this company since they did other work on our buildings here in Hawaii Kai in the past well, but the reviews here made me skeptical, but as soon as the plumber and assistant showed up they did everything above expectations, took care to extra details I've not seen other plumbers do to benefit me, were efficient and got the work done by the end of that day, answered all of my many questions and weren't annoyed and were friendly, yet didn't waste any time. After the work was done and they tested everything, CJ contracted a drywall/patch/paint guy who came and did a great job and even though the holes were extensive and I was really worried, he took the time and care to patch and texture and prime and paint everything so I honestly can't tell where the work was done. Given the texture across the whole wall isn't perfect, but I didn't expect that, but is great and he even tried to go beyond the affected area to help hide/texture spots that were done poorly from other work we had done. The guy was also very professional and nice, not perfect by any means and there are little issues here and there, but much better than I expected. I'm super critical with work being done, have high expectations for "professionals" in each fields, but would definitely recommend CJ Plumbing to others. Thanks Guys! read more

The owner of an apartment building that I manage asked me to use them instead of another plumbing company that used to do work at the building. When I took over managing the building there was ponding in the parking lot...three other plumbers could not determine where the water was coming from. The lack of professionalism that this company displays is incredible! I made an appointment with them over two weeks ago to get emergency drain repair. I am a business owner and I have repeatedly had problems with my wastewater drains. At my appointment, I was told that the technician didn't have the parts needed to complete the job, so they would come back next week and finish up. I asked the technician to keep in touch with me over the next few days to let me know how much the part would cost and if he was able to find it. This whole transaction was very informal and I felt a little uneasy because he wasn't writing anything down. In order to make time for the appointment, I had to clear my work schedule which costs my company a lot of time and money. When I didn't get any phone calls from the technician or an appointment confirmation, I called two days before the appointment to ask whether I even had an appointment scheduled and if they had located the parts required to complete the job. When I asked if they had located the part, they said "oh we haven't been able to find something that will work. Maybe you can try to find it?" Ummmm I'm sorry I assumed you were the professionals? How am I supposed to know what part will work? If I had been given more notice, I may have been able to make some calls and drive around to different stores to find something, but it was far too late for me at this point. I felt that I had been forgotten about and that the company was scrambling at the last minute to try and accommodate me. As the icing on the bad-service cake, their technician William seriously yelled at me over the phone when I voiced my displeasure with the company's lack of costumer service. I actually called the owner to let him know about my terrible experience so I could give him a chance to make it right before I posted this review. He said he would make some calls and get back to me in 30-40 mins. That was over 24 hours ago. I even reached out to him again on the day of the appointment to find out what was going on and he didn't even bother to respond to me. I am now out of an entire day of work for no reason AND my drains are still broken! Save yourself the hassle and call a company who actually cares about their customers. read more

Technology? err...nope Makes: If you just want the work done in and out don't care who they are, what they do how they do it or what it cost then these guys are for you. Misses: I feel like I can't trust them to ever use them again. I didn't choose to use them, I would have preferred a family friend that I could trust, but the building I live in said these are the guys we have to use. I had a leak, that actually started 7 months prior with the previous owners. 7 months later I move in and BAM! hit with a $1400 bill for the plumbing and $1500 bill for the drywall to fix the huge holes they made to fix the plumbing. Supposedly the leak 7 months ago was found and fixed...obviously not. Was CJs the company that found and "fixed" it 7 months ago?? The workers are really nice but I don't know if that's a baiting thing. The first guy was really apologetic about the problem I walked into with the leak but said another unit fixed all their plumbing for $1600 so I said whew, thought it was going to be a lot more. Well, he took that as an agreement to a $1600 price. Quote: "I SPOKE WITH TECHNICIAN AND HE HAD SAID HE GAVE YOU A PRICE OF 1,600 AND YOU AGREED TO PRICE BUT PRICE IS FAR FROM THAT." Yeah, they write you back in all caps. And I guess $1400 is far from $1600. I also asked multiple times for estimates for how much it would be for a water shutoff valve and to fix my dishwasher. Estimates and quotes are not in their vocabulary, they just do it even if you ask multiple times first and then charge you. Quote: "THE WORK THAT WAS PERFORMED WITH DISCRIPTION IS THE INVOICE YOU HAD GOT." So they way they work is they don't tell you what they are going to do, they do it and the invoice, aka bill, tells you what they are going to do, I mean, did. With today's technology, I think it's very prehistoric to cut holes in walls to find leaks. These guys work on my building regularly and should know where all the pipes are. They diagnosed the problem as being in the right side of the bathroom, but we came home to a huge hole in the middle of my bathroom. Why? They already knew where the problem was. They said it was to look for more leaks...c'mon man, drill a 0.5" hole and stick a endoscope in there...it's like $200 on amazon! There were already 3 holes in the wall if they needed to put a light source in the wall, ugh. They use their own contractor, CSL, who in their estimate (at least they give proposals/estimates first) said they would have to move the toilet to fix the drywall. At this point I felt like they were both trying to make more work for each other. The plumbers made a bigger hole for the contractors to fix, who in turn, would need the plumbers to come back to remove then put back the toilet. I asked another contractor who said the toilet wouldn't have to be moved. Avoid avoid avoid. Unless you want extra holes in your wall AND EMAIL RESPONSES THAT LOOK LIKE THIS. No payment plans either. You get this instead: PLEASE SUBMIT PAYMENT ASAP when you inquire about their checking in to if they have payment plans. So unless you can afford an extra $3000 in a month to fix a leaking shower drain plumbing problem, think twice about CJs/CSL (they needed half of the $1500 up front, I don't know if they have payment plans). Here's another one: NO MORE WORK WILL BE ADDED TO THE WORK ORDER FOR WE HAVE COMPLETED ALL WORK THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE. False. Got a $400 bill two days later for work they forgot to add to the invoice. Technology is out there. Businesses need to be using it for the benefit of their customers. As long as it is reasonable, upfront costs will pay for itself as long as you keep doing the right thing for the customer. read more

its 7:40 pm on a sunday and we're on the offramp to ewa beach. The CJs plumbing truck in front of us license plate 356TTT was driving WAY too close to the car in front off it and swerving all over the road like he is drunk. Then he cut to the left lane almost running another car off the road... i was terrified he was gunna hit us! I sure hope CJ finds out this guy is driving all around making tons of people commit their name to memory as the place they will never call when they need a plumber! read more

plumbing work was needed during my bathroom remodeling. cj plumbing asked me and email to them what i wanted done. in few short words, i told them; 1. i wanted to relocate shower to the center (because it was located on a corner). 2. add emergency on/off valve with a small access door. also, i asked if i could buy parts needed instead of using the highly marked up parts they provide. they said yes, they gave me a list, and shopping for parts i went. simple right? this what the plumber did. cut water line, DID NOT re-route water line to the center. add emergency shut off valve. did not use the parts they told me to purchase. used what was in his truck, charged me with the full marked up price. wasted my time and gas. cj plumbing knew what needs to be done but......job was done wrong or not done at all. called back, made another appointment to do the work i asked for the first time and, re-do the work that was already done. re-route the water line to the center, Aaaaagain... the emergency on/off lever switches has to be flipped cause it was installed facing wrong side (away from the little access door). did i say small or little access door? well,,, it was going to be a little access door but the plumber cut out such a HUGE hole on the dry wall that i can't find an access door big enough to cover it. i'm now having the whole wall replaced too. btw, asides from incurring new expenses (changing wall), paying for expensive parts. i also had to pay for labor TWICE (2X) to come and re-do what was supposed to be done the first time. NOT A GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE..... read more

We called CJ plumbing to install new water heaters and install a new sump pit/pump. They were extremely professional and responsive and offered alternate solutions for us to consider. We ran into issues digging the sump pit (needed to re route the pipe coming from the street) and they handled it efficiently. The staff is good. I called back in Nov after I noticed my external wash faucet was dripping and had to shut off via under basin shutoff. Before they arrived. Back order fridge finally arrived and hooked up. At that time, fridge installers told me that fridge water shutoff wasn't shutting off. Had CJ plumber give me estimate to fixed wash sink faucet, fix fridge shutoff and check 1/2 bath sink dripping and kitchen extended faucet. Plumber indicated shutoff on kitchen sink faucet frozen. Received estimates with option to buy own faucets for preference choice or go with model their guys would select. Since multiple tasks had to wait for availability for longer repair availability versus multiple smaller jobs done. Opening came up and fridge and kitchen shutoff replaced, along with wash sink and 1/2 bath faucets replaced ( wash faucet bought on own/ q/bath faucet plumber picked up). Job complete, though plumber had to cut drywall for fridge shutoff to replace and drywall work not done by plumber. Invoice came and it was as reasonable. read more

Waited over a week for non emergency service and when my 2 hour window came and went I made a call to a thoroughly confused women who claims to have talked with someone earlier who cancelled the job. HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND WILL WILL WILL REFER. :-) Husband and I bought an older townhome and we decided to remodel the kitchen so we called Chad through a referral. I asked him how much everything would cost to move a water heater before we even needed to get anything done (1 month before starting the project). He gladly helped and gave a reasonable quote that he actually kept his word on when it came time to request for the actual quote. Long story short, turned out that we would be better off with a tankless water heater, which I am SUPER glad we decided to go that route. Talk about the geckos in Hawaii, we had a dried up gecko on our water heater and gecko eggs in the tank!!! It was GROSS!! The timing and everything worked out perfectly even with other contractors in our little townhome working on the kitchen. We had electricians, plumbers, and kitchen demolition at our place all at the same time. Also since the tankless water heater required the water heater voltage (or whatever its called) to be higher, Chad had the electricians that he normally worked with contract through him so all I had to do was pay one lump sum. It turned out all the work that was done might have cost quite a bit more (meaning hundreds) but because everything was made in agreement, the little extras here and there were thrown in just to make little old me happy. Ok I'm not that old. Now I have fresh clean water or at least none direct gecko eggs water that I am bathing in and I am super happy. Also since I was having the kitchen demo, Chad noticed I would need some work done to hook everything up again for the sink and icemaker, he was on top of that. Of course it was extra work and not part of the contract but he tried his best to make it reasonable for me. He really worked within my budget and went above and beyond to help me based on the budget. Since the kitchen and everything was so old, one problem after another popped up when Chad sent his guys to hook up everything...This also happened when he was here himself to hook up the tankless water heater two days before. There were issues left and right because of the older home but we managed through and Chad worked with me on the pricing and problems we ran into. He even threw in some extra work that should have been charged and done for free because we went so long without water.... we were not able to shut off the main water valve..something that was not his fault since it was in my neighbor's yard and we were not aware of prior to. All in all great service and I would highly recommend and refer to others. This is just a word of advice for every contractor you decide to hire, ask ask ask all the questions before you decide to go with anyone. And they should be more than willing to answer you just like how Chad was with me. If they don't answer you, then there is something wrong. read more

I have been using CJ plumbing for the past 2 yrs and he is always in and out and he shows me what was in the pipes, at about this time of year when all the kids are over they have long hair and rubber bands down the drain, I always depend on CJ to do the best just job and it is reasonable on the charge.
