Although the internet hours showed that it was supposed to be open, we drove by and it was closed.

I went to Door County Fire for dinner last night. I started with the seafood chowder which was…read morepretty good. I think I might pass on it in the future. For the main course, I ordered the browned butter Walleye. I've never eaten Walleye before, but I definitely will going forward. It was beyond delicious! Somewhat sweet. The browned butter glaze was amazing! You should do yourself a favor and try it! I chose mashed potatoes, which were real and delicious. It came with some gravy because, well, its potatoes. Gotta live some, lol. It also came with some bread that, if it wasn't homemade, I'd be very surprised. Lastly, there was some cole slaw, which, while I'm not a gan, I think most people would enjoy. The server could not have been nicer. Very friendly and helpful. Overall, great place! I can't wait to go back.

No drinks, no "we will be with you shortly" or anything. We just sat there. Finally a server came over and said they had a big group come in and it was causing some backup and the host should have told us; he didn't. The drinks and appetizer came quickly and the street corner appetizer was very good; I would order it again. Once the appetizer was finished we sat with empty glasses for a good while. Again, no communication. Once the food arrived, things got much better. Wraps were good, not great. My daughter's pizza was good. With all the restaurants in the area, they will need to up their game on service.

Very cute place with some really interesting food with lots of vegetarian options but also lots of meat based dishes as well. I tried the Banh Mi and it was amazing. Its 5-spice marinated grilled pork, pickled daikon & carrot, cilantro, cucumber, Sriracha-lime mayo, on rustic roll. Lots of flavor and the pork was very tender and had great flavor. I also tried the soup of the day which was smoked ham with mushrooms and was very full of flavor. My wife ordered an Asian bowl with tofu and it was loaded with tons of fresh vegetables in a spicy asian broth. She loved it and it was served warm and was a huge serving. Very nice find and can't wait to go back in the Summer to check out the patio and the breakfast options.

My friend ordered the Cubano sandwich and loved it, and another friend had the avocado toast with egg salad on sourdough, which was thoughtful, fresh, and elevated far beyond the usual café fare. Upon arrival we could see that the hostess or floor manager I am not sure which position she held was a little snappy and a little under pressure which of course is not the best way to start dinner. Upon sitting down after about a 20 minute wait we opened up our napkins and noticed that there was a hair and some dried or crusty food on a few of our napkins. The salt shakers look like they haven't been replaced since the creation of the facility however if I digress the food was very good and after being seated we waited for about 15 to 20 minutes before a server came to us but she was phenomenal once she took our table. We would try them again but I hope from a hygiene perspective they take a little bit more pride in cleaning the utensils and amenities throughout the restaurant

Seeing the ad coincided nicely with a planned Door County wedding anniversary day trip for my wife and I. It seems every time we visit Door County we are always traveling the west side of the peninsula. Mr. G's is on the east side and right on Hwy 57. This worked nicely in forcing us to drive south from Sister Bay with a focus on hitting Mr. G's. This place is definitely an old school Wisconsin supper club. Pretty certain the building hasn't had a full remodel in years and why would you when you have that classic look going on. Retro is coming back. So what makes a supper club. Sitting at the bar having an old fashioned or two. A cheese & cracker tray and in this case chips/salsa as well. A pre meal salad bar of course is a must for a true supper club. For our entrees we went with the full rack of ribs and the ribeye. My wifes steak was prepared just as ordered and had a hint of buttery goodness with each bite. They boast award winning ribs. They were fall off the bone tender with excellent flavor. The ribs come with two sauce choices (cherry flavor & original). I went with the classic and was pleased with the spice. My wife also ordered her entree with the potato pancakes which is not something always offered as an option. Our waitress Jean was attentive throughout and offered excellent input on the history of the restaurant and what to order. We had an excellent experience and may have to consider visiting the east side of the peninsula more often.
