If you choose any heat level, it defaults to Nashville style breading; Coop's Classic is reserved for kids meals or no‑heat tenders. They asked if I wanted to swap the fries for something else. I asked what counted as an even exchange, and the only option was coleslaw--which the Double Clucker already comes with--so that made no sense whatsoever. I stuck with the fries. Oddly, the meal doesn't include a drink, so I added an Oreo milkshake since that also had good reviews. The staff was very friendly, and the milkshake came out first and fast. They served it to my table in the empty dining room. Flavor was fine, but it didn't come with the cherry shown in the photos and included in the menu description. Worse yet, it was extremely watery--super runny, not cold, and definitely not "Frosty" as advertised. See my videos. Big disappointment. When the food arrived, the tender itself was great--moist and flavorful. The mild heat level barely registered for me, but the ranch dip was better than the house sauce dip. The coleslaw didn't do it for me. It lacked flavor, and the cabbage pieces were cut way too large. Lastly, the fries. Oh boy. Not refrigerator cold, but definitely cool. Not warm, not hot--just... cool. And ack. Overall, I can only recommend the tenders. They do sell them à la carte for $4 and change, and those are the only thing worth getting that I tried. While the staff wasn't outwardly rude, the blatant disregard for basic food safety and hygiene was shocking. The cashier accidentally rang my order up as "to-go" instead of "for here." Honest mistake, no big deal. However, they accidentally handed my order to another couple who was picking up a to-go order. That couple walked completely out of the restaurant, took my food into their personal vehicle, and sat in their car with it. The employee realized the mistake, ran out to the parking lot, and retrieved the food from their car. Instead of remaking my meal from scratch, the staff brought the food back into the kitchen, replated it, and served it to my girlfriend and me. This is an absolute health code violation. Once food leaves the building and enters a stranger's vehicle, it is contaminated. We have no idea what happened to that food inside their car. To make matters worse, because it had been sitting in steam-trapped to-go boxes in someone else's car, the sweet potato fries and onion rings were completely soggy when they finally got to our table. Serving contaminated, poorly handled food just to avoid the cost of remaking an order is disgusting and unacceptable. We will not be returning.

My first thought was, "Wait... inside the gas station?" But listen... don't let that fool you. The first thing I noticed was how clean everything was. The gas station itself was spotless, and Angel's Kitchen looked practically brand new. The setup was fresh, organized, and gave off the feeling of a business still in its early stages but trying to do things right. The menu had more variety than I expected too--cheesesteak subs, cold subs, burgers, fries, and Italian ice. I ordered the turkey sub and a small pineapple Italian ice. They were out of almost half of the Italian ice flavors, which was a little disappointing, but that pineapple flavor absolutely delivered. It was cold, refreshing, and exactly what I needed in that Texas heat. Now the ordering process was a little different. They currently handwrite your order on a Post-it note, then you take it to the gas station register to pay, get it stamped, and bring it back. They do have a POS system at the counter, so I'm guessing they're still getting everything fully up and running. Growing pains happen. As far as service goes, the staff was cool. The young cashier seemed like she was probably still learning the ropes and maybe in training, but she was pleasant. There was another gentleman there who carried himself with the confidence of someone who might be the owner, and overall the interaction felt welcoming. Now for the food: I haven't eaten the turkey sub yet, but presentation matters--and this thing looked GOOD. Honestly, it looked better than a lot of sandwiches I've gotten from some of the bigger chain sub shops. Fresh ingredients, packed nicely, and definitely not thrown together carelessly. They also had a few seats inside--about four spots--so if you wanted to stop in for lunch and actually sit and eat, you could. Overall, I'll definitely be back. Next time, I think I'm trying one of those cheesesteaks and dining in. Angel's Neighborhood Kitchen may be tucked inside a gas station, but don't sleep on it. Sometimes good food really does be hiding in unexpected places.

They were very polite and gave me so much information about the different choices on the menu. We decided to get the cheesesteak special. The cheesesteaks were super yummy. Not everyone can make a good cheesecake paired with the perfect type of cheese, onions and mayo, but there's is good. I had them put black pepper and seasoning on the fries and it was the perfect touch. This was my first time having an Italian ice soda with whipped cream, and it was really delicious. I can't wait to try something new from their menu.
