    Chicken Parmesan
    Rachael L.

Think there has to be better Italian food here. We ordered chicken Parmesan, bruschetta, carbonara and the shrimp ala romana. The best part of the meal was the chicken Parmesan. It had good flavor and red sauce is hit or miss at most places. My husband did not care for the carbonara. It tasted like hot dogs. The brushetta tasted like it was out of a jar and was not fresh. They were out of lettuce, which seemed strange for an Italian restaurant that serves salads. Service was fine and ambiance fine as well. Pretty casual place with too high prices for food that don't match the quality.

Great Service & Strong Start -- With Room to Shine I went to Joe's Italian Restaurant for my birthday, and it was only their second week open -- which honestly made the experience even more impressive. From the moment we walked in, the service was phenomenal. We were greeted right away and seated fairly quickly, which set a great tone for the evening. We started with the stuffed mushrooms, which were a great appetizer. For my entrée, I ordered the Piccata with Chicken, and my friend ordered the Chicken Parmesan. I want to be fair and honest: the overall quality of the food was good, but the chicken in my piccata was not my favorite. It was extremely tough, thick and I've never had piccata served with unbreaded chicken before, so that threw me off a bit. That said -- the piccata sauce and the angel hair pasta were absolutely awesome. Truly delicious. On the flip side, my friend's chicken Parmesan was phenomenal -- perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. For dessert, I ordered the tiramisu, which was a great way to end the meal. Overall, Joe's is off to a strong start with outstanding service and some really great dishes. Next time, I'll likely try the piccata with shrimp instead of chicken. I'm definitely willing to give it another visit and see how they continue to grow.

    All dented and rusty

Service was great, but that's it. The place was filthy and had a weird smell. There was food all over the table and especially on the floor. The tables legs look like the restraint has been open for months. Do you guys even vacuum? I ordered unsweetened ice tea and what I received didn't even look like tea, it looks like it was from the day before. Over all the tea was cloudy and didn't even look like it was mixed with something else, d8dnt even drink it. Salad was the only thing that came out looking decent. Now for the main course, bland and rubbery. The sal shackers look like they were reused from the last restaurant, all dented and rusty. Overall, I give this a 0 OUT OF 10. Great service though....

I am visiting from California and looking for an Italian restaurant I found this one with pretty good reviews, well the good reviews were pretty accurate. Great service, very good food, the prices are very reasonable and the place is huge...Oh I forgot to say that this restaurant is kids and pets friendly.

Mozzarella sticks, meat lovers pizza, a taste of Italy.

We celebrated our anniversary at Joe's Italian on a Tuesday night around 8pm, and it was such a great experience. The service really stood out -- our waiter took the time to walk me through the menu and helped me choose the "Taste of Italy," which includes Alfredo, lasagna, and chicken parmesan. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. We also ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and a meat lovers pizza to share, and both were delicious. To make the night extra special, our waiter surprised us with tiramisu and coconut cake for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch. I was especially excited to see they offer limoncello cake since Olive Garden discontinued theirs -- that alone guarantees I'll be back! They also took the time to snap some Polaroids of us!

They were out of the wine my friend requested and did not have cranberry juice for a cran/soda for me. Not off to a good start. The bread was mediocre at best. And the server didn't offer to do olive oil/red wine mix for us. I was craving something fresh so I ordered a Caprese salad to start. There was nothing great about it. The mozzarella was thick and dense. I also ordered a garden salad and lasagna. The garden salad smelled and tasted like dirt - like it had not been washed - that got pushed to the side and uneaten. The lasagna - ugggggg - how do you screw up lasagna???? There were gobs of ricotta cheese on top of the dish - literally piles of cheese- and not in a good way. I scraped most of it off and set it aside. The dish itself was bland and greasy. Honestly, Stouffers makes better lasagna - truth. We were offered dessert but passed. Ben and Jerry's was a safer bet. Overall I'd rate this meal a 2 out of 10 - they had Diet Coke so that was a win.

My girlfriend and I came in tonight and honestly... wow…read more I got the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and she got the Pesto Penne with chicken added, and both dishes were incredible. I've eaten a lot of Italian food over the years, and this was easily some of the best I've had. The Alfredo was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor without feeling heavy. The pesto penne was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. We kept trading bites because we couldn't decide which one was better. Even before the entrees came out, the salad and bread were amazing. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. Nothing felt rushed or mass-produced. You can tell there is real pride behind the food here. What stood out just as much was the hospitality. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and made us feel genuinely appreciated. We had the chance to chat with the owner's mother before leaving, and that level of warmth really reflects what this restaurant is about. It's rare to find a place where every part of the meal hits, from the bread and salad all the way to the last bite of pasta, but Lorenzo's absolutely delivered. We'll be back, and we'll be bringing friends and family with us. If you're in Las Cruces and wondering whether this place is worth trying, the answer is yes.

It's unfortunate to write this as this was a new favorite among our out of town guests and a must…read morevisit restaurant but we were shocked to find that Lorenzo's is charging a fee of nearly $3 on all card transactions - including debit cards. When we asked the staff to remove it because we paid with a debit card, we were told that's just how it is for both credit and debit. I'm hoping they truly don't realize how illegal this is (on top of not removing it when asked after they took and charged our debit card) and simply not feigning ignorance to get extra money out of every person who has ever used a debit card here. Major card networks (like Visa and Mastercard) and federal regulations strictly prohibit charging surcharges or fees on debit card transactions, even if run as credit, it straight up violates standard card merchant agreements and can be reported to the FTC with massive fines for the restaurant. I encourage management to do a quick search and educate themselves quickly. If they aren't going to remove it, then customers beware, look at your receipts closely here, as management refuses to fix this illegal practice when brought to their attention.

They are simply magic here both in terms of flavor complexity and texture. Their texture here is truly the best. I literally was licking the plate at the end of each of these. I tried all four of their moles as plates and also as a sampler on four different occasions and all are very complex, rich, creamy and satisfying. -Mole Poblano. "A not so sweet ajillo pepper mole sauce with traditional ingredients and a touch of Oaxaca chocolate." This was the first we tried here and what brought us back for more. -Mancha Manteles mole: This mole is described on their menu as: "Sweet pineapple, red apples, fried plantain and a wonderful choice of spices make this mole a great and unique experience". This mole like their other ones came out piping hot, creamy, thick, complex and delicious. -Mole Negro: Chichilo pepper and tomatillo mole sauce with a smoky taste and a hint of ash. -Mole Verde o Pipian. Toasted pumpkin seeds and tomatillo mole sauce with a hint of hoja santa (root beer plant) My husband and I get their enmoladas stuffed with vegetables and get double serving of the black beans (rice has chicken stock so we avoid it to keep the meal vegan/ vegetarian). The plates are always piping hot and soooo yummy. When they have all four moles available they offer a sampler as well. We did this on our last visit and it was fun to revisit the 4 moles we had their side by side and compare them. I really love the ambiance out on the peaceful patio and there's cover form the sun.
