I watched him press the regular coke button, so I told him I ordered diet, and he instantly said that they don't have Diet Coke. As in they just told people it was diet when it isn't, as a matter of course. Nonplussed, I told him that that silent substitution could seriously injure a diabetic, and he and his female manager, who was in the take out window at the time, rudely cut me off and said "ok bye sir" as the window closed and laughed. So they substituted a sugar filled product without telling anyone, and then laughed that they got caught. This place is comically, insanely, and dangerously run. And to think that I had been hopeful when they repaired the menu screen that had been blinking and blacked out for seconds at a time for A YEAR OR TWO. That McDonalds doesn't close this location and refund the franchise fee is unfathomable.

Our church youth group of 22 visited The Clam Shack in Salem, MA, and it was an unforgettable experience. The staff worked so hard to make sure every single person was served, and they did it with a smile and incredible efficiency. We were so impressed by their hustle and hospitality! The food? Absolutely delicious. Fresh, classic New England seafood done right. Everyone in our group found something they loved, and the quality was top-notch. Order at the counter inside their little shop, pay, and head down the little alley (hold on tightly to your stuff so you don't accidentally drop anything enroute) to their back deck with limited seating, and access to their bathrooms. Listen up for your name and they will bring you your food on a tray. A family of three shared the 3 chicken lobsters for $50 during the 2025 season, and a dozen raw oysters for $30. My single lobster was $18. Single oysters $3 apiece. Creamy clam chowder $7. Stuffed clam $3. The $30 cold lobster roll came with cole slaw and a bag of chips. The hot dog roll looked small but was well filled with fresh sweet lobster meat. Her smoked salmon $8 were two thick chunks of fish. My hot in-shell boiled lobster arrived several minutes after, pre-cracked. Carefully poured out the green water, and I went at it. Making use of the sink by the bathroom afterwards to get cleaned up. A delicious way to start our outing to Rockport! BTW parking in the nearby area is paid and seasonal. Head to the kiosk, enter the license plate, pay an affordable price, and stick the slip on your dashboard. Parking tickets are no fun.

I had their sourdough bread with butter, sourdough soy, and sel gris (my mom shared it with me without the butter - more for me!); two of their raw oysters from New Brunswick with a sparkling rose mignonette; two of their dressed oysters with plumcots, prosecco mignonette, and smoked trout roe; and their bucatini with Cape clams, Calabrian chile, onion cream, bacon, pounded basil, bread crumbs, and 2-year Parmigiano Reggiano. Everything was very good, but I wish the sauce on the pasta had been thickened a bit so it would stick to the pasta; the sauce was delicious, but was as thin as broth and that made it hard to enjoy.
