I ordered thecsauce on thevside, most times it's a super sweet heavy BBQ. Not this time, light, tangy, with a nice kick! Excellent sauce and I definitely poured it on! The bun was soft My husband ordered a cheeseburger with fries (I helped it the fries). Very large burger and the fries were nice and crispy! Big menu to select from including hot Pastrami, Steak, Steak Tip sandwiches. Lots of cold sandwich options too! Staff was very friendly and helpful! We dined in. There are a few tables, most take their orders to go. There were plenty of parking spaces in the lot with Village Roast Beef and a larger lot just across the way at the larger center. read more

My friend and I were on what I call a "Commuter Rail Adventure" and decided to stop by this spot. Everyone always says you've got to get some roast beef when you're on the North Shore... so when in Rome I suppose! We went with the King Beef Sandwich, which was perfect to share. The meat was nice and rare and the bun was perfect. This is a pretty casual shop, without a ton of seating, but we ate there anyway. But they do anyway and I appreciate that. On the other hand they have a $5 fish special which a lot of people get and rave about on here was like a one star experience. Freezer fries and freezer fish patties that weren't even tasty or cooked well or particularly moist and I can't imagine a worse fish and chips dish to be honest it - having said that I had a decent amount of it and having said that you can't really get very good fish and chips anywhere in the USA so at least they're making an effort but if this was served in England they probably be kicked out of the country and banned for life (lol). Because of the dirt cheap prices, I'll give it a 5. I def recommend hitting this place up for the roast beef and the other deliciousness, rather than the fish, and also look out for excellent service! Place does a pretty OK roast beef sandwich at a decent price. Are there better options out there? Yes. Is there one in Marblehead that's better? I don't know. This place is amazing. I ordered the fried shrimp plate and it came with fresh shrimp, fries and onion rings. It was delicious. The shrimp came with the tails still attached and we're perfectly cooked. My girl ordered a sub with ham, cheese and salami. This sandwich weighed about 5 pounds lol. It was massive!! Came here for a seafood platter on a hot summer day. The front door was wide open and there were flies buzzing all around the restaurant. Got my food, all of the seafood was frozen and not good. Scollops were the tiniest I have ever seen. The shrimp was not deveined and the "poop shoot" was still on. I had to throw away most of my food and spent over $30. We would never have gone into this place if not for Yelp. It looks pretty unimpressive from the outside--and the inside. But sure enough, the $4.99 fish and chips were nicely cooked and a great bargain. My 3 companions all got the shrimp basket for $9.99 and I was a little jealous--they got great mounds of food including onion rings. It was nicely cooked and very satisfying. The new owners had said they would keep everything the same, but it obviously didn't apply to the Tuna. I ordered a tuna sub last weekend and it was bland, tasteless, no taste at all. During a 2-week renovation of our home, my wife and I tried just about every take-out place in town. We were surprised to find that the salads (yes the salads) from Village Roast Beef were the best of any comparable take-out restaurant in town. I developed a slight addiction to their Greek salad after my first time ordering from Village. They don't skimp on anything - a half dozen+ olives, a pile of feta, and plenty of greens to fill the container. And if my memory serves me correct, you get a good portion for just $6. We paid upwards of $7-$8 for Greek salads from other establishments in town and those meals can't touch what you get at Village. Going to this place always puts a smile on my face because of how warmly I am always greeted by the owners, especially the woman who is almost always working every time I go there. Makes you feel like you're visiting distant family or something; very welcoming. The food comes out fast and never disappoints (My favorite is the steak & cheese sub and some onion rings--the "Small" sized side of them is actually huge, so I can't imagine how much you get if you pay for the larger portion! I found this spot based on precious ratings on yelp for roast beef sandwiches. Let me tell YOU, this place doesn't disappoint. The beef is a medium rare, melt in your mouth shaved thin. So good. The amount of beef on a junior was equivalent to a large beef. It was delicious and filling. Steak fried were good and the scallops were ok. I think they were a tad over done with that chewy texture but the batter was good and my mother seemed to really enjoy them. Chicken fingers were excellent. High recommend this spot read more
