Ordered out during this COVID crap! Ruebens, Irish bangers and mash, fried pickles, beer cheese soup and a side salad. Ruebens were great and bangers and mash were as good as you can get in a state ruled by franchise dumps. Side salad was fresh and the soup was creamy and flavorful! Fast service, generous portions, and the fried pickles remained crisp and delicious throughout delivery! Just not a great place overall. First stop the service was not great. Started off just fine, but fizzled at the end when our server disappeared. When we were done, plates still on the table and drink glasses empty our server was nowhere to be found and the three other servers walked by us numerous times and a handful of times we made eye contact. Duh, maybe these people staring at you might need some help. When I finally spoke up, one of the servers looked me in the eye, listened to me and simply smirked and went back to doing what we was doing. When another server took my credit card and rang us up, our original server brought the receipt and he asked, "so everything was good tonight?" Funny how clueless this guy was. Being a server is hard work and this guy needs to get a new job. The beer - the choices are just fine. When my beer came I said to my wife, "this beer just isn't cold." She felt my glass and then her glass (beer came from a bottle) and there was a noticeable difference. Might need to get that checked out. We were planning on taking an Uber and enjoying the night, but getting my second beer took forever and that plan went out the door. The food was just not great. The irish nachos were below average, the cheese sauce they list was just a tad thicker than milk. It collected at the bottom of the plate and sat there. Hardly any meat and other good stuff. The chips were good at least. We didn't know what to expect of the Avocado and Asparagus Fries, and they are just ok. Not very many. My wife and I split the Castro. Man what a mess. They cut the sandwich in half and when my plate came the bread on the bottom was about 1/3 the size it should be and was soggy as heck. Tells me it sat for a while. The meat was no better than what I get at the store thick cut. Very little mustard. Waste of money. This place looked cool walking in and walking out I was pissed I just dropped $50 on a waste. Just think with better service, little better food, cold beers; they could have gotten a $200 plus night. We were going to stay a long time and friends were going to meet up there later. read more

Clancy's....I can't believe in all the years you have been in Wheat Ridge I barely tried you at the recommendation of a colleague. My lady and I went on a Friday night since we were wanting some fish & chips (which she later chose something else after seeing their fine menu)....and I must say they did NOT disappoint. The fish & chips here are very generous. Thick fish fillets, it seems like a whole fish it's so generous, breaded wonderfully and flavorfully. Served atop a bed of waffle cut "chips" or fries for the Yankees :) The lemon blue cheese slaw has a mild hint of blue cheese which goes well with the usual creaminess and acidity of traditional slaw. Malt vinegar already present on the table....amazing. My only gripe was the sauce provided with the fish was ranch, not the usual tartar sauce I'm used to regularly getting with fish & chips. My lady got a reuben which was also very generously sized. Big on flavor too. Thick cut pieces of corned beef, swiss, sauerkraut, and 1000 island dressing, all on tasty marble rye. I'm not the biggest seeker of the Reuben but I could easily eat a whole one of these myself. Excellent. Clancy's...I look forward to trying something else from your extensive menu and hope you're around for many more years to come. read more

Love this place. My son has severe food allergies and eating at this restaurant has become a great stress free experience. The owner made accommodations for our needs. Furthermore, their burgers and vegeterian options are the best american style burgers I've had in Colorado. Great ambience kid friendly. read more

Really good little bar. Love all the different areas. The buffalo wings are amazing. Good prices on beer. Friendly staff. Only reason for the 4 star is we had a credit card charged randomly, for much more than we generally spend, long after our last visit. Had to cancel the card. I can't say for sure someone there took the card numbers but we just use cash instead now. Can't hold it against the bar for a bad employee. read more

Had been wanting to try this place for quite some time. I rolled in at 1400 on a Wednesday. Walked in no one greeted me. I didn't know what to do so I just sat myself. I waited and waited. Then someone else came in, sat at the bar and he was given a menu. So I asked a patron who was eating there if I needed to go to the bar and grab a menu. She said no. So I was waiting over ten minutes to be acknowledged then someone came and gave me a menu and left. Waited at least another 10 minutes for my order to be taken. At this point I needed to get the order to go. I asked for a draft while I waited. That took 13 minutes( I started tracking time at that point). The place was empty. Two tables. Several people running around doing random things. Lol. So about 3 minutes after my draft arrived my food was ready. I ordered I piece of fish, Irish spring rolls, and the Irish onion soup. The fish was very good and great tartar. Soup very delicious. The Irish spring rolls come in three tiny spring roll wrappers with good mustard. (Not worth the money and they sucked). If I were the owner manager or whoever is in charge of the wait staff there I would definitely have them focus on customer service and keeping in mind people don't like to sit around and feel invisible when you are patrimony their establishment. It's a cool place, decent food, horrible horrible customer service. I spent 35 bucks, including tip, on those 4 items. Probably won't go back because of my first experience and I'm bummed because I wanted to try more things that they have on their menu. I love Irish food!! read more

Ok kids. We just moved to Denver. Love it and the food offerings. I was really looking forward to eating some of the "Best Fish and Chips in Denver". Not so much. Two stars cuz the fish was quite good, the chips too, but the breading/batter part soggy and greasy. Maybe it was staffing issues, but.. Very disappointed. read more

What's not to love? We went there on a snowy night, so pub not very busy but still had all the charm and atmosphere expected from this type of venue. The various "alcove type" rooms, quaint bar areas and larger dining areas all have loads of character. The number of tv's would qualify Clancy's as a sports bar as well, which normally is not my thing but it was not a distraction. The server was attractive, attentive and articulate about all the good choices on the happy hour and pub food menu. We enjoyed the Shephard's pie and the crispy fish and chips along with Irish coffee and wine... all good. All in all, a cozy respite from the chilly weather outside. The owner Jeff, who is apparently there most of the time, was a pro-active manager as well and shared Clancy's story as Colorado's oldest pub. And from what we experienced, this establishment is here to stay on top. What's not to love? read more

We were often at the old Clancy's; had to try to new (2 years now) locations in the old Mon Petit-Wheat Ridge. What a fun set up - for customers. Patios front and back; lots of parking; different rooms for different singles, couples, groups. Food was great - Reuben for me and the Irish spring rolls for my friend. We topped it off with smashing Irish Coffees. I can see from the layout of the place where service could be a challenge - steps, many rooms, good help hard to find - but we had no issues and will be back. I found this neighborhood bar tucked off the main drag in Wheat Ridge. I had a delicious burger with a cold Guinness on tap. The unexpected treat was the people playing and singing Irish music until quite late. I had a thoroughly fun time. I plan to return to this little gem of a place. read more

I've been here a couple of time so far, and the food is fantastic. It is priced on the higher end of what one might expect for pub food, but that's starting to become the norm everywhere. If you're expecting dive food at dive prices, this isn't your place. Both times I went I've ordered the Salmon Sammy. First with the bun, second time without. The bun is a little oversized for the salmon, and tends to soak up the delicious aioli and beome a soggy mess, so I recommend getting it without. Save those carbs for your beer, kids! As a side order, you might be tempted to skip the "champ" and go with something familiar... but you'd be doing yourself a grave disservice. Champ is basically rustic Irish smashed potatoes, mixed up with (I think) sour cream, cheese, bacon, and chives. So sinful, so damn good. Order it. The beer cheese soup, beef stew, burgers, and fish n' chips also garnered rave reviews. Nobody, however, liked the Fried Mac and Cheese. It comes as oversized balls, set on a mess of chunky marinara and topped with some... some... I don't know what. Green threads. It looks like seaweed, but it's not. It's a little scary.... which brings me to my next point. I don't know if the green overhead lights in the back dining room are there just for the holiday season, or if they're a permanent fixture... but for the benefit of your food, they really need to go. Here's a little science: green lighting on red food makes it appear a muddy brown. SO, when you bring out a plate of Fried Mac and Cheese balls sitting atop big glop of what SHOULD be red marinara, and that chunky red marinara appears to be a chunky BROWN pile of... um... do you see where I'm going with this? I tried to replate the offending mess before the kid who ordered it got a good look at what she later referred to as "dog barf," but the damage had been done. So, in summation: Green Lights + Red Chunky Marinara = No Bueno. Please, for the love of all that is holy, get rid of those green lights. Poor lighting choices notwithstanding, Clancy's food is actually quite good and a welcome addition to the neighborhood. We'll be back! read more

Stopped in for lunch to celebrate a co-worker's birthday. It needed to be quick, because we all had to move off to a meeting afterward. Also, I will need to preface I only ordered a salad (and had brought my lunch today just in case I didn't have time.) It's just your regular irish pub, has that funky vibe with interesting knick knacks smattering the walls. I think it'd be a great place to visit at night, maybe not so much for lunch. I usually don't go to pubs if I'm not drinking, so perhaps that affected my experience. So anyway, I got the basic salad. It was made with a tomato vinaigrette, which sounded good but I don't think it was anything special. I had asked for it to be on the side, but when I got (finally) got it, it was already mixed in. Also, I have a feeling that the salad was pre-mixed and sitting overnight. Some of the lettuce was soggy, as were the cucumbers. My co-workers however really liked their food- they got the veg sandwich special, manhattan chowder, and other items. The waitress we had was super nice and friendly, but extremely slow. It took a good 15 minutes or so at least before she took our order. We waited for what felt like a while it seemed like throughout the entire lunch. Given overall that the service was quite slow and the salad wasn't very fresh, my experience here was "meh." read more

My firm did an post volunteer day at Clancy's and so Tiphanie W. and myself met with the executive chef and owner and the manager to plan the event. We were behind the ball but everyone was very helpful at getting everything planned. They worked with our budget for food and put on a great spread for everyone. Plus the 22 oz mugs of beer were a total hit. The fried Mac and Cheese is fantastically good as are the spring rolls and the meat and cheese platter. Oh yeah the wings were very tasty as well. Everything is made in house and fresh and it tastes like it. I am so impressed with the professionalism of the staff and ownership. It isn't always easy to plan a corporate event but this went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend Clancy's for a happy hour or Christmas party in the future. read more

I am so glad they reopened. The new building is beautiful. Definitely an upgrade from the last location. I was worried that they might have changed the recipes from the last location. Clancy's is a cool place to drink and party but don't go for the food. My pastrami sandwich had just two slices of Pastrami, no cheese, not enough dressing to taste and dry bread that was burnt. At a price of just under $14 it was a true rip-off! read more

Clancy's is one of those places that you're happy to be able to review and to recommend. We end up there pretty often, either just my girlfriend and I, or with groups from her place of employment. In either case, they have one of the best happy hours in town, solidly good food (and some good stuff is even on the happy hour menu), and a nice patio. And the food is consistent, which is a hallmark of quality. The people are the best thing about the place, though. Even when they're crowded - which isn't unusual - they're still the nicest and friendliest folks who don't ever make you feel like you're a pain in the posterior, even when you think you probably are. Our favorite is Jess: she has taken care of our large groups twice, and both times took excellent care of us. This last time, it appeared that she actually had two large groups and the whole back of the restaurant, and she was amazing at holding down the fort until reinforcements arrived. Whatever they're paying her isn't enough, and we never feel like her tips can be large enough. I think we should, like, adopt her or something. This place is a bit of a hidden gem- driving down 38th Ave you might pass it by like we did but we were not disappointed when we stopped in to check it out. Very low key place, old house converted so it's broken up into to smaller dining rooms with a large front patio. The staff are always super nice and friendly and great service.
