Normally Beef Stroganoff is made with pieces of beef in a gravy with mushrooms over egg noodles. This was made with pot roast, which was okay. And instead of egg noodles they use fettuccine noodles, which was okay the last time I ordered it. However, what I received when I ordered this dish delivered tonight was *tri-color* fettuccine noodles. This made the entire dish taste off to me. The green noodles are flavored with spinach and the red flavored with tomato. Neither of these tasted right at all with the Stroganoff. It threw the flavor of the whole dish off and I have to say that I did not enjoy it at all. Ended up picking out the noodles and throwing them away and just eating the meat and gravy over a piece of bread. For $25 not including the tip to the delivery driver, this is just not okay. That's a lot of money for beef and gravy over a piece of my own bread. I doubt I will do this again. read more

This review is one that should've been done a very, very-LONG time ago. We've been coming to this fine establishment for 4+ years. Since then, we've had the privilege to sample quite a few items on the menu- and can't say that one was mediocre or needing improvement. One of their top appetizers would be the pot roast egg rolls- mouth watering, filling and very satisfying. However, today I'd like to talk about their breakfast menu and the service that makes your meal even better. We've come to the conclusion that Clancy's (on 103rd) is by far our go to breakfast place- no questions asked. Dana, who is the opener, manager, bartender, server & class act- is who makes us keep coming back. You know she cares about her clientele- always greets us by our first names-she knows what we drink- remembers it- and has our breakfast orders memorized, as well. Of course, she verifies if we're doing the same- and of course- we always do. If you haven't met her- you probably should- great sense of humor- the sarcasm is on point and an overall- real, down to earth, kind person to start your morning with. . Clancy's is lucky to have her on their team. On to the breakfast.. The pot roast hash is what I order..EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The pot roast is cooked to perfection- comes with potatoes, onions. two eggs (I choose over-medium), toast (I recommend the sourdough- which they get fresh from the bakery next door), and then complete this dish with a Guinness gravy. I can promise you that this favorite breakfast of mine is also a generous portion-They really do hook it up and trust me...you will want whatever you don't finish for later. First Time here, based on a recommendation, and we will be back! This place is a keeper for someone's "list-to-go". Started off with the Irish Nachos (pot roast option). The meat was so tender and moist. The black olives would not have been my first choice, but I get it, nachos need olives. ;-) Also had the french onion soup. Great taste, very herbaceous, not too salty. Finished off with the crispy fish sandwich. Another WINNER :-) Perfect crispy crunch, portion size fabulous. I visited this place for the first time for a birthday and while I was a little apprehensive about the look, the food was actually quite good. This place has an old Southside feel to it and has a bit too many video gambling machines. I was here for a kid's party which seemed a little weird because this place is NOT really kid friendly. Thats ok that its not kid friendly as well. Kids don't have to be EVERYWHERE, but it just wasn't set up for families. I will say that I was impressed by the food. They have a whole "eggroll" section which honestly, I could have just ordered all of those! We went with the Irish ones which were perfectly balanced with ingredients and were nice and crispy. We also got the pizza which was good, but not entirely earth shattering. The pizza is thinner and crispier so I will give them that! Its a true tavern style since we are in, well, a tavern! Finding a bar with good food can sometimes be hard anywhere you go. I will say that this bar gets the seal from me for "good food". I might even bump it to excellent. I've eaten food from Clancys several times and it's usually pretty good. Their irish spring rolls and pot roast rolls are crazy delicious. The corned beef is ok, and burgers are good. I was in one night and a customer recommended the pizza. Now, I love pizza and never had it here so I ordered a pepperoni, black olive and cheese to go. Ummm...no. this is not good pizza. Sometimes a place will have a bad crust but decent sauce. Or bad sauce but cheese and meat are good. Here? I could only find a few pieces of pepperoni, and the cheese was tasteless, the crust was horribly bland. The sauce, tasteless also. A big strikeout (the Sox were on TV). read more

I ordered the Corned Beef on rye and chips, I thought it was kind of chewy. I ate half and took the other half home and ate it that evening for dinner. It was too fatty for me. My sister said that their cheesesteak sandwich is good, I'll try that next time. My one sister ordered the Reuben, she said it was good and my other sister ordered the Irish Spring Rolls (Corned Beef, Sauerkraut, and Swiss Cheese) she liked it. I went to clancys on 95th to have a few drinks and play the machines. The machines went down while I was playing. I sat there 3 hours waiting for someone to come and cash out my tickets for 164.00. The food and service have done downhill. I've ordered two pizzas in the last month and a half. One pizza had very little cheese (pictured), so I called and they sent me another one. The second pizza had cheese, but had HUGE chunks of veggies that were pretty much raw, rather than sliced cooked veggies. I didn't bother complaining the second time, I just won't order food from here for a while. Although the advertise their "Beat the Virus Specials" they do not honor the price, or at the very least you have to tell them. Neither the pizza nor the Fish/Chips and Shepards pie (two different orders on two different days) were priced at the special price. Moreover, when I show up to pick up my food, I literally have to walk back behind the counter before I am even acknowledged. Not even a "be with you in a minute" until I walk behind the normal pickup area and back to where they are filling beers do I get any kind of acknowledgement. We arrived on a Friday around 9pm. Luckily there was a booth open for us because it was busy! Our group of 4 shared a 12 inch pizza, BBQ chicken wings, and fries. The food was what you'd typically expect of bar food - nothing extraordinary, but not bad either. They had live music which was nice! We ordered a second round of drinks, but decided to pay our bill and head out after about 20 minutes of waiting and no drinks in sight. I decided to give this place ANOTHER chance after a poor experience years ago. As they say, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I won't make the same mistake again. To try and make a long story short, I placed an order over $60.00 today, only for there to be a mix up with the delivery. The problem came when the manager called me and was extremely rude to me about it. Yes, a food order did arrive to me, but there was nothing on the bag to identify where it was from. And as we have many issues on my block with things being delivered to the wrong address, yes, even food orders, I assumed this was completely unrelated to my food order that wasn't due to be delivered for another 30 minutes and that the real person who ordered it would come looking for it, which is what typically happens. I should note that this was a contactless delivery, so I only saw the driver in his car and wave as he drove away and all I knew for sure was that this mystery order wasn't mine. Ten minutes after my order should have been delivered, I get a call from the manager at Clancy's. To say that she was rude is putting it politely, she was downright ignorant. She seemed very upset with ME that this mixup had happened. I have ZERO idea how it was MY fault that I was delivered someone else's order. Or why she didn't believe that there was nothing on the bag indicating where it was from. Had there been something on it, a ticket, a bag printed with their logo, anything, I would have called immediately about it. I get that mistakes happen. Humans aren't perfect. She was even more ignorant when I said that I still wanted my original order. I guess she thought I should be happy with the lesser order that I actually received, none of which I would ever eat. After we hung up from that call, I began to get more upset by it. I fail to find the words as to how inappropriate this woman was. So I decided to call back, ask to speak to a manager and cancel the order. If you can't already guess, she was the one that was put on the phone when I asked to speak to the manager. She even tried to act like I was talking to someone different and I hadn't just spoken to her 5 minutes before. I told her that I wanted to cancel the order and asked why she felt the need to speak to me so poorly. Her response was to hang up. Never again will I try this place. And I'll make sure to tell everyone else around here not to either. read more

I had to come here during the pandemic to be reminded of what a REAL salt of the earth working class Irish pub is like in Chicago. I came on a John Williams night twice. Once we sat outside and I had the corned beef sandwich and next time was mid-pandemic when the bar was all remodeled and extended, the bathroom state-of-the-art, and John Williams was still playing by the door while I worked my way through the fish & chips. I wish Kevin would buy a third pub because we need more room to hold all that fun and joy. Ten thumbs up to Kevin who gets what the good Lord put us on this earth for - to give back to the community. I figured I would give their pizza a shot because their Ruben egg rolls are fantastic. The pizza came earlier then expected but was somehow still moderately cold. Not to mention the order was completely wrong. I ordered a "super pizza" with half cheese for kids and half pepperoni and sausage for the adults. The girl even repeated it to me and was super kind on the phone. It would have been enjoyable if the order was correct and I was able to reheat the pizza for the kids. My only issue (and unfortunately it's one that keeps me from ordering here often) is it literally takes an hour at the very least before your food is ready, sometimes an hour and a half.
