My friend and I went to Clancy's tonight. It was the worst experience we EVER had at any restaurant. We each ordered a drink and one appetizer. When our appetizer came out 20 min later, we then had asked to put our order in, since the waitress never came back to get our order before that. We got there around 4:20pm and when we did there was only two other tables. Ordered drinks and appetizer around 4:30pm. Appetizer came out around 4:50pm and we ordered our food which was just a pizza for us to share. Around 5pm/5:15pm, more tables started filling up. We were never asked if we wanted another drink, we were never updated on our order and no one even came to our table. People that came in after us, were getting served meals and getting boxes to go. 5:50pm we flagged down a young girl to get refills. Which we never got. At 6:00pm, that girl asked if we could move seats bc a large party was coming in. We decided since we sat there since 4:20pm, with no pizza and no refill still, that we'd be better off leaving and eating it at home. They wrapped up our pizza within minutes. We got home...8 min later and it was cold. Not even warm. Have no idea how long it was sitting there. Looked like it was sitting there for quite some time. OK, so food was OK, though they forget our pretzel/cheese apps. Still I'll blame my husband that forgot to check bag for our take-out even though it's really ON THEM to get order right. Still I know from reviews in many places they mess up orders. All the same, we're not THAT close by so it's a pain to let heat out while checking orders. Still THAT would leave a 2-3 stars except for the major offense. He reported later ALL the persons in there & at bar, all close together, but NOT ONE mask in sight. Again, to be clear, date is 7/5/20 evening & there were 10-15 at the bar, NO social distancing & NOT ONE customer wearing mask! Really? What in the world are you thinking allowing this CLANCY?!! Worse he tells me AFTER we eat. Listen people, I don't much CARE what you think, this is NOT up to debate. Right now ALL this is not an option, thankfully, it's mandatory! On 2-25-24 at 12pm my 2 brothers & I decided to go here for for lunch. We looked for a spot at the bar, but nothing available. I asked one of the waitresses & she told me that we can sit anywhere & someone will be right with us. We decided to sit in the dinning area to the left against the wall. The waitress came up & gave us menus so we can decide. Now around this time it was 12:15pm & this gentleman walks up to us & tells us he's having a party come in at 1pm so unless we are going to be done at 1pm we have to move. We were going to move, but there were no other spots to move to since they were moving wiring in the ceiling panels. We were sitting there for 15 min & then we're told to move, but no spots! Then the guy, guessing manager watched us walk out the door with out saying anything, like sorry for the inconvenience. This is the 2nd time I've had an issue at this place. Learn to run a business better! No reason to inconvenience customers. read more

First I want to applaud that obviously being an Irish Pub, that they actually have several Irish beers on tap and a good complement of Irish whiskey! Nothing drives me nuts as much as being in the say Blarney Stone and only having regular Jameson and only Guinness to choose from with no other variety - if you want to come off as an "Irish" pub, you need to deserve being called that and carry several Irish beers and whiskeys! Very few Irish pubs serve Smithwick's on tap as well as the usual Guinness as Clancy's does and they also have almost the complete line of Jameson's to choose from as well as other Irish brands too! I guess the one bad thing here is only having one waitress to serve the whole place and she was really slammed trying to take care of everybody and so we gave her some slack for taking a long time to take our orders. Seeing the many patrons there, I can't believe they can't afford to hire a couple more bartenders! Reading the reviews, they are losing a lot of business from having really poor service! Now on to the best part: the food is really really good! Who would think you can get a delicious steak dinner with mushrooms, mash potatoes and gravy with carrots just like a fancy steakhouse restaurant?!!! The steak was as good quality as any I've ever had in my life and I really couldn't believe I was getting this high quality food in a small strip mall bar!!! But my buddy who is from the area, knew this and told me that everything on the menu is delicious and they actually made him a corn beef and cabbage pizza one time that was off the hook!!! I tried some of his sausage and mushroom pizza and that was good too! It is a real shame they don't hire a couple more bartenders to help take orders for better service but then the people would be waiting in line outside and have to take a number to get in! So far I think this is my favorite Irish Pub except for having to watch the poor bartenders being so severely overworked as they have to be under a lot of stress listening to unhappy patrons! Boosting Clancy's up a star or 2 as it has improved quite a bit my last few times there. They now have 2 locations in Oak Lawn. Both are nice. Owners have put a lot of effort into improving everything. The food here is SO good. HOWEVER, the service is God-awful. Never order delivery, because your order will be messed up. We have gotten carry out from here multiple times, and every time there is an issue with our order - something is missing, something is wrong, etc. The last time we dined in, the service was so bad. One person at the table received his meal, and then AN HOUR later, the other 3 people got their food. No one acknowledged that this happened - the server and the owner both saw only one person at our table eating.. how do they not see that that is not normal? I was a waitress for several years, and I try to give servers the benefit of the doubt, but she was awful and the owner seems clueless. The thing that has kept us coming back is the food - it is one of the best reuben sandwiches I've had (and trust me I've tried many), and the pot roast rolls are superb. It's sad that the staff makes the place undesirable, because if the service were better this would be our number 1 local place to eat out. read more

**95th Street Location Review** My family and I have been to the Clancy's on 103rd several times and decided to try the new 95th location. It doesn't have its own Yelp page. When we entered we sat ourselves and it look the waitress a bit to come to our table. When she did, she did not have enough menus for everyone. She claimed she worked with someone the night before who was new and she did not know where the menus were. We were expecting them to have a full menu like the other location. They had very, very limited pub menu options. They did not have rye bread so the members of my party who wanted corned beef were out of luck. Our waitress told us if we wanted anything from the MUCH larger menu at the103rd St location they coils order it and have it delivered. The waitress said this would take at least a half hour. Of course, had we known we would have went to the original one initially. It seemed odd that someone would drive across town to go get the food. The plastic silverware and paper plates did not add to the experience. Also, there was a man doing construction type work and using a loud saw when we were in there. It seems like if your building is still under construction you should not be open. The only reason I gave this place two stars is because the food we got was actually good. It got heated up at this location. If you're looking to eat and want decent service I would skip this location entirely! read more

But I ordered a large cheese pizza which you think would be hard to mess up... it came out basically with raw dough and when we asked the waitress said it was done. I kind of just ate it because I had three little ones with me and my time is limited before melt downs with them. Don't expect a clean glass for your Guinness though...unfortunately The server was great as far as attention and attitude. Let me start off by saying we have been here 5 or 6 times and we have had a great experience each time. The food, drinks, and service have always been great. We just left after being completely ignored for 10 minutes. A waitress (not sure if she was ours or not), never even acknowledged us. Now, let me preface this by we are extremely low maintenance. We understand when waitstaff are busy. We are patient and typically 30 - 40 percent tippers as we have both served before. However, this girl didn't even acknowledge us with anything? I mean anything? "I will be another 10 minutes", "You need to wait", "I'm slammed" "Go get your own beer" ANYTHING. We appreciate sassy people! :-) she walked by 5 times...yes, 5 times and nothing. I'm super disappointed because I really liked this place. I am not one to say one bad apple spoils the bunch, but the kicker is the owner or manager is literally speaking to a table 5ft away that "he will bartend, wait, bus if necessary". Um what? I don't know if we will be back. Always acknowledge people...even if it is to tell them you will be another 15 minutes; Communication is key. read more

I LOVE Clancy's. I have only ordered delivery from here [never dined in, but have seen it, and it is cozy]. I guess that says a lot that I am giving it five stars just for delivery. That is because I love the food, and when I order, I always get a family feeling - very courteous and the delivery is quick. Unlike other delivery places, I have to repeat my phone number and address [I guess they do not keep it in the system], but that is no reason to deprive them of a star. That is not a big deal. I have ordered Irish Spring Rolls [corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss] - delicious, hearty, appetizer; the corned beef & cabbage dinner [carrots and potatoes] - with horseradish & mustard [requested]. This is a solid dish. The vegetables are very fresh, and that mustard is divine! The corned beef is lovely, and the portion is good. The Southsider Grinder [pot roast, giardiniera, provolone] was really good. The pizza is very good too, with all of the sauce/topping options, and the crust is very well done. I prefer to order the dinners, especially when I want a good home cooked meal, but I did like their pizza, especially as I am ordering from an Irish Pub. I tell everyone who lives in Oak Lawn about Clancy's, especially since you can order such good meals for delivery. I had never seen or even heard of this place until I bought my groupon a few weeks ago even though I must have driven by it a thousand times. We decided to try them out last night and ordered pizza with a side of pot roast egg rolls. I had a feeling they were busy because the guy taking our order over the phone was really, really, really confused. When we got there our food wasn't ready and ended up having to wait an additional 20 minutes for it to come out. Normally I wouldn't really care but it was so crowded and there was no where to stand so we were just kind of stuck in the middle of the restaurant in everyone's way. Clancy's has settled into a little part of the strip mall next to the "Jewels" on 103rd and Cicero-ish. It takes the place of a few different pizza places that haven't done so well in years past. Nevertheless, Clancy's takes the brave step forward in becoming a pizza-pub fusion of goodness! I am always on the search for a good pint o' guinness. Clancy's has just that! Check. Pizza?! (I haven't tried it, but have tried some of the other grub.) Who doesn't like pizza?! Check! Irish music in the corner, competing and even dominating your nighttime conversation?! Check, and mate! I was impressed with Clancy's, they really have a nice little niche carved out in that plaza-thingy. It's tiny, but that contributes to its cozy charm. I will start by saying the low rating has absolutely nothing to do with their food and everything to do with their delivery service on GrubHub. For the THIRD time after having to call to check on my order because it was already 1 1/2 waiting time, I was once again told that "GrubHub system is messing up" and they are just now seeing my order. And, I was once again told that they would get my order in and "rush it out to me" in about an hour. This time I declined and hung up. So, while the food is great, that really doesn't matter if they can never get it to you. I also don't appreciate the made up "GrubHub did it" excuse. If the servers and restaurant staff are too busy to properly process their ToGo orders, perhaps they should remove themselves from GrubHub. Truly a disappointment. read more

I want them to be successful because the people seem nice and this location has been of a bit of death trap for small businesses. Their pizza was quite good, but it was way too expensive to justify going there when there are so many other cheaper options around. The place itself is tiny but seems big, though not in a good way- rather than feeling like a cozy corner place, it has the atmosphere of a chain restaurant that should be bigger, but isn't. They told me they have live music...for real? Do they perform back in the kitchen? I'd order a lot more if they dropped the price a couple bucks. Good food. read more

We ordered from here a couple weeks ago to get pizza. My mom got the southsider , my dad got a double cheese burger, and me and my boyfriend got a bacon, sausage, and pepperoni pizza. They were fantastic. My dad said best burger he's ever had. My mom is normally very critical over pizzas and she loved hers. I like a little more crust on pizza but this was fantastic. My dad loved the burger so much we went there for lunch today. They got double cheese burgers and I got the hot chick. So good. It was a chicken sandwich on French bread with bacon, Swiss, and ranch. Right up my alley. I don't know if I would ever go there to sit and eat. It looks nice when they're first opening up, but if it starts to get crowded it might be too crammed. Floors were disgusting. They had visible big food crumbs all over the place. They were super greasy feeling too like they haven't been mopped in a long time. Table had crumbs all over it my wife I decided we would still give it a try. We sat down whole place smelled like old spilled beer servers though there were about 3 which is a lot for such a small place all walked like they were hung over. Finally after 10 mins we were given water. No menus. We waited another 5 minutes to get a menu. No one ever came back. There was about 10 patrons in the restaurant at the time. We ending up leaving and getting a quick sandwich at Jimmy John's. Sucks really wanted to try the pizza but like my wife said if the part of the restaurant that we are seeing and sitting in looks this nasty how do you think the kitchen looks. read more

Food is great, noise level is quiet to average, has a.few TV's and some gaming (casino type) machines, Irish/sports bar feel, friendly owner/manager, prices are between $8-$20 plus for most food for 2 people, on average. Place is very clean, great drinks, coffee and dessert btw. Also had a delicious grilled cheese sandwich with a large diet coke, coffee and when I ate their with my mother she had scrambled eggs, sausage and hash browns with coffee and a dessert we split, bread pudding. Heard the 'delivery guy' say "I have it here and am heading out". Almost an hour later, called again. About 45 minutes later, called yet again. Was put on hold while they checked. Turned out the order was never given to the kitchen, but it would be delivered in 30 minutes. 2-1/2 hours late, after multiple calls, is completely unacceptable service. Owner delivered and provided a coupon for $10 and a wishy-washy apology. Would never order delivery from here again, especially after reviews on here. read more

Upon arriving they said 10 minutes til our order would be ready. 20 minutes later they said 2 minutes. 20 minutes later I was still waiting for our order. I asked one server if a manager was available, no manager. The server was apologetic. The bar was packed and six people were waiting to pick up their to go orders.
