I went to Ashford House Restaurant because I was craving Corned Beef and Cabbage today, as it is St Patricks Day. I had never been to Ashford House before. I stumbled upon this restaurant through a Google search for an authentic Irish restaurant close enough to my home. Ashford House came up top on the list. The restaurant is located right off of a very busy street. However, they do offer free parking in their lot. My meal of Corned Beef and Cabbage included potatoes, carrots, yeast roll and soup or salad. I chose the Beef Vegetable Soup. My entire meal was very tasty and very plentiful! I went for lunch and ended up having enough for dinner too! For the salt conscious folks, let me tell you their Corned Beef is not salty at all. Don't let my picture of the Corned Beef and Cabbage fool you. There were multi layers of the Corned Beef and of the Cabbage. If you're in the Tinley Park, IL area, and find yourself hungry, give Ashford House Restaurant a try. read more

The Corned beef and cabbage dinner was great! It came with Irish Mash. I had the salad with the homemade garlic dressing it was the bomb. My Dad had the fish and chips and he was delighted. I could hear it crunch and the fish was tender too. Our server was polite and attentive and made great suggestions she was fun! The next table had food that smelled amazing. I have to go back and try more of the menu. It's nice clean and they make you feel at home. read more

There's a lot to love about the AshfordHouse. My favorite dish is the corned beef and cabbage dinner. It's amazing! I selected the Ashford house because it was given five stars but let me tell you corned beef simple corned beef sandwich is not there specialty it had to be the worst corned beef sandwich I have ever gotten corned beef Rye mustard Swiss I received 5 slices of corned beef on rye bread no melted Swiss no mustard and when I asked for those items the waitress who had no customer service didn't redo the sandwich she simply brought me swiss cheese on a plate and mustard they probably have other items that are good but corned beef is definitely not they're core competincy. read more

My nine member book club had a dinner meeting and it was amazing. Ashford House was very accommodating in seating nine people. Our waitress Nicole, was very informative, made excellent recomendations about food and drinks plus she allowed separate checks. The corned beef and salmon was excellent as always. Everyone was happy with their food choice. This is a great restaurant and has quality food at reasonable prices. Their butcher store/deli/grocery store which is attached to the restaurant is mind boggling especially the meat and the potatoe salad. read more

most of the time, the food is really good at this restaurant. Last night however, I decided to take home a slice of Keylime pie. The piece was very small for the price that I paid for it not only was it small, but there was something terribly wrong with the taste. It was awful. I don't know if it was the last slice that was left or if it had gone bad. I called the restaurant to let them know. The girl that answered, gave me the reply. I'm sorry about that. She did not offer to give me a credit for the next time we come to the restaurant or take care of the situation at all. Not happy about the situation and won't be going back there. awesome little family owned spot serving straight up irish fare for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. we stopped in for breakfast new years weekend and had a great time. the food was delicious, but I could've had just the Guinness bloody mary and been just as happy! We also loved our server, Karen, who was super friendly and we can't wait to come visit her for dinner next! after breakfast we stopped by Winston's Market next door and learned from Amy that both are family owned and operated, and that nearly all the staff are friends or family of the owner in some way. Excellent lunch today at The Ashford House. Our first meal in a restaurant after 3 months because of Covid. They've set up a welcoming, clean, tented outdoor area with well spaced tables. They offer a full menu ranging from Irish specialties to sandwiches. Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant. Face masks are required until you are seated. read more

I ordered the Cottage pie, it's more like Vegetable pie. barely any ground beef to be found and for $16...... I would not recommend.

This is the first time we went here after seeing it on yelp. It's not a place I would normally stop at if I was just driving by especially since I've driven by it a hundred times in the past. We were seated promptly and we met our waitress Robin. Robin was great. she was very helpful. She brought rolls and crackers out promptly and got our drinks. The Pepsi was some of the best in a fountain drink which in my experience is not common. I ordered the prime rib, clam chowder, twice baked potato and cheese covered broccoli. My wife got the Rueben on marble rye, French fries and house salad with the poppyseed dressing. Everything starting with the warm potato rolls was very good. The clam chowder was not the white kind I prefer but nevertheless it was good. The prime rib was a good chunk of meat and cooked correctly. The only thing I would prefer is more flavor. I like mine with some spice. As with everything else the Rueben was piled high with very good and thicker corned that just fell apart. That is just the way we like it. The Bailey's cheesecake for desert sounded good but there was no way we could eat it. As it was, we ended up taking most of the very generous portions home. Like this little Irish pub-style restaurant and have been going here for years. The next-door Winston's Market grocery store and this Ashford House restaurant are the only two stores in this family-owned strip mall and they are both operated by the same family. As such, they have been here for years and they can outlast any dips or surges in the market - they are in it for the long haul. Both places cater to the Irish community. As for Ashford House, they primarily serve breakfast/brunch all day and they are very good at it. The usual egg dishes are carried off nicely and they always offer Irish bangers or bacon to go with the usual breakfast meats. We like the sausage. ..mild and tasty. Lunch/brunch is very good also - and if you like corned beef and cabbage, they have it down perfectly. So for the food it is a really nice place. Off to the side is a bar - remember this is an Irish place - and they have all the offerings one would expect in an Irish pub, including large screen TVs up on the wall. The restaurant also provides a private room which is used for overflow on busy Saturdays/Sundays and can be rented for funeral luncheons. All-in-all they thought of pretty much everything. While the place can get somewhat empty on mid-days during the week, weekends are busy. Waitstaff is very nice - this place is old-fashioned and proud of it. If you want some authentic Irish food, give this place a try. read more

We stopped on a Saturday afternoon and both ordered corned beef sandwiches with fries. The corned beef was very good and a bit on the lean side. The horseradish served with the sandwiches has just the right amount of heat. The fries were very good - not just the typical food service fries. My wife had a mixed greens salad with their homemade garlic dressing which is fantastic! One of the best garlic salad dressings out there. We got take out at 5pm on a weekday. Ordered 6 sandwiches; Reuben, corned beef, pastrami and patti melts. Not one person liked them! The reuben, pastrami and corned beef were dry as a bone and flavorless. The patti melts were edible, but also flavorless. The fries were good. My husband has been there for breakfast service and enjoyed it. But none of us enjoyed those dry sandwiches. Wasted our money! read more

I've not gone here in about 8 months...and I was completely shocked at how filthy the restaurant is. The ladies bathroom was gross; babies changing table had a black film on it, the wicker decorations were discolored from the dust embedded in them, sink and counter stained! Dinning room; I was sat in the booth near the clock on the wall which had so much dust on it, you wouldn't know what was the actual color of the clock. From that, stains dripping down the wall. I honestly don't think a good cleaning is all that hard. I ordered the Ashford Skillet and all that was in there was irish ham, potatoes and onions with a slice of cheese melted on top of the eggs. The dish that it was served in had black scratches all over it...I've never been so disgusted. I will not return! read more

I've been to Ashford House on several occasions once for breakfast and now twice this week for the Monday T-Bone special and the Friday Prime Rib special. All three meals were very good. This is not a steak house by any means but for the price and great service for a quick summer meal it truly makes my go to eat list . Joan the waitress is fantastic. She had made my dining experience a pleasure. She's certainly a keeper. (Hear that Ashford House) Next I'll have to try the fried chicken special. I can't wait.... My granddaughter and I went there Saturday Eve. I ordered the lemon pepper fish which at first was good. But then I had to start pulling fish bones out of my mouth. I literally started gagging. That has never happened to me before in a restaurant. It was horrible. I just kept pulling bones out. I should have gone with the corn beef and cabbage which I've had before and enjoyed. read more

Went here in May 2017. Don't know why people had issues with the decor. It wasn't terrible and the restaurant was clean. The service was prompt and attentive. I enjoyed my salad with garlic dressing and my Mom enjoyed her chicken soup. I got the steak sandwich. Had to cut some fat off, but it tasted great. Mom had the steak, which was cooked right and tasted great as well. We had no room for dessert. We would both go back for sure. read more
