While driving back to the place we were staying we saw the sign for Marion's. It is not an eat in place, all take out. We picked up the Chicken Pot pie with vegetables and a cinnamon roll. We took our pie back to our place and popped it in the oven. The pie was filled with white meat, carrots and peas. But mostly chicken!! We warmed up the light tasty gravy. The gravy was a great compliment since the pie was so stuffed with chicken! Service was from a counter, and quick. We arrived an hour before closing and most all the display cases were empty. I came back to get a small bumbleberry and baileyberry pie (a little less than $10 each). To my surprise, this time the bumbleberry tasted better to me while the baileyberry was more tart than I remembered. Probably dependent on the year's berries. Got quite a few pies here to go as they were about to close. Got chicken, seafood, key lime, apple. The chicken pie was delicious as we baked it at 350F for 30 min per instructions. This was the star pie as one pour the gravy over when serving. Chunks of chicken oozed out. The seasoning was perfect as most other chicken pot pies are either bland or overly salty. And at under $20 for this big pie well worth it. The seafood pie was similarly tasty. Had just enough room to take in a sliver of key lime which was refreshing and filling at the same time. We thought all of the "you have to go to Marion's" suggestions we got from friends were overblown, but now I see why it is so popular. It is VERY tiny, so the line in the mornings is often out the door. But that's because people get there to snap up the pastries, including the Chatham Muffins, which are rolled in butter and cinnamon sugar and are very addictive! The only pies early in the morning are typically Dutch apple, so the key is to order when you're there any pies you want later in the day, or call them. And please, whatever you do, get a dozen of their Parker House rolls....I've never had better! read more

We took home wonderfully delicious baked goods from Marion's. Everything was so well prepared. The cinnamon buns were over generous in size and reheated beautifully for breakfast the next day. The beefsteak pie was flavorful and the crust was perfect. The spinach and feta croissant was flaky and mouth watering. The brownies were sumptuous and rich with deep chocolate flavor. I am not a cookie fan, but the chocolate chip cookies got two thumbs up from my son. We are planning to order again soon read more

Marion's makes good pies. Not life-changing, but decent. I think they churn out so many pies, they seem mass produced. The good: they have a ton of flavors (fruit pies, cream pies, savory, pot pies...). Huge selection of pies. The quality is decent. The bad: it is tiny, and gets super crowded. They yell at you if someone holds the door open, so you just wait for people to leave and then squeeze in. The parking lot is so small and tight for the volume of cars coming and going. read more

My sister and I just returned from a lunch-time splurge: chili, spinach and feta croissant, Portugese kale soup, chocolate chip cookies, and hermit cookies. We finished lunch (and most of this food) and, as always, it far exceeded expectations. We ordered pies for Thanksgiving last week and will pick them up next Wednesday. I purchase two chicken parmesan meals at a time and keep them in the freezer for a protein-rich, very tasty series of meals. Each package contains two full chicken breasts and easily accommodates two meals. The staff here are very friendly. (Family and friends have been stopping here and ordering holiday pies for more than 2 decades.) My friend and I came here early one summer morning when it hadn't even officially opened yet and a line was formed outside. The key is definitely aim to get here a little before they open. It's fun standing in line for a cute pie shop down the cape (it kindve gave me high school rom com feel good tv shows in a beach town type energy doing this) but parking is limited so make sure you get in on time! By the time we got our breakfast pastries and headed out, the line outside was nearly doubled. And that's in the span of 5-10 minutes! Wild. Be sure to time it right! We ordered a box full of different breakfast pastries-- raspberry turnovers, croissants, and their cinnamon nut orange rolls which are all the rave on Yelp. The inside of the store was so small, but it felt so authentic. It was a very busy shop which made me think the business was a local favorite. Our first trip to Marian's Pie Shop won't be the last--we ordered a blueberry pie the day before and picked it up around noon, just as it came out of the oven. We love Marions! They have cookies, cinnamon rolls, dessert pies, dinner pies, soup, bread and even lobster rolls. You can get a small pie for $9. Recently we got the bumbleberry (blackberries, apple, raspberry and rhubarb) and strawberry peach pie. My favorite was the strawberry peach. They had only one pie (lemon meringue) available for sale at 10 am on a weekday. They have more than a dozen flavors on their menu. Maybe they sold out of literally everything two hrs after opening? Seems odd so why not just make more pies? We tried the ham and cheese croissant pockets, they were ok but not worth a special trip. Contrary to the owner's claim the employees did not inform me of any other options at the time nor did they say to wait. If you have a policy of not selling pies to walk-in customers before a certain time of day, then have your employees state as such. This isn't rocket science. Before posting snarky replies to customers perhaps educate and train your staff! Your attitude proves your problem. Ill never recommend your business to anyone as I dont believe in giving money to sorry excuses of a business. read more

I tend to be very picky about bakeries. I do not like the artificial fatty film that many pastries leave in the mouth. Additionally, I want a flaky, tender, and delicious pie crust that is heavily filled. That said, Marion's does not disappoint. We have been going to Marion's for years when we visit the Cape and always enjoy our purchases. As others have indicated, the shop can get VERY busy during high season. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient despite the chaos. We love all the "berry" pies-Bumbleberry, Razzleberry & Baileyberry and the Cran Peach Praline is delicious! Truly you cannot go wrong, just work your way down the menu. The only savory pie we have tried was the Hamburger and it was a hit. They have loads of comfort foods as well, so you do not have to slave away in the kitchen on vacation or in life. The breads are great to have on hand for a quick breakfast and the 7 Layer Bars and Pecan Squares are a wonderful afternoon pick me up. read more

I wanted to love this place but the pie was a little disappointing. We tried the Baileyberry pie- essentially a mixed berry pie and the Peach raspberry pie. The baileyberry pie was decent but the peach raspberry pie was kind of gross- the peaches were either canned or weirdly cooked and the crust was a bit doughy and undercooked. We also got cinnamon buns which were large and yummy- although a bit dense for my taste- and a chocolate chip cookie which was delicious! The service was great and everything was decently priced. I stopped here one day to get a few pies. I was holding the door open for people and this odd hippie guy yelled at me to shut the door so I did. The other workers there were very nice though. Cute pie shop that we stopped in while driving thru Chatham. A great variety of pie flavors and other treats. Tried the spinach feta croissant and the ham cheese one. Both were great, light flaky and delicious. We also got a few other treats to try including a cinnamon bun and of course a pie. I discovered this place on a Monday, which was my first disappointment since they aren't open on Mondays. I had seen a picture of their cinnamon rolls that looked like the size of a breadbox and was really craving them. On Tuesday we showed up around 1pm, only to discover that they had sold out of the cinnamon rolls for the day. Second disappointment, check! Still a good selection of dessert and meat pies, although I had fully expected to see a pork pie on the menu as one of the meat pies as that is what I've had insofar as meat pies go. Decided to go with a good old-fashioned apple pie which appeared to be more like a pie tower of golden baked crust filled with apples. The pie was eaten a few hours later and warmed up in the oven with a scoop or three of vanilla bean ice cream. Mmmm Mmmm Good. Never did make it back here for the cinnamon rolls.
