This place was eh ok. It's a room. We had pubic hairs in our shower on the wall and shelf from the prior person who stayed there. Disgusting! The furniture in the room is actually really nice and exceeds what the place looks like everywhere else in property. Room had a nice electronic mirror in the bathroom. Outside of hotel needs some work and had some old beat up furniture from the hole outside. Not nice curb appeal. You could hear everything in this hotel - voices through the walls, cars, coughing...this place is not for a light sleeper. Breakfast was included. That room had a sticky floor and was a bit of a mess. Food was not good. The price is good, the mirror in the bathroom is nice...but that's about all this place has going for it. read more

I don't usually review, especially on the little things but this one I had to review. They are trying to charge me $300, in two separate charges $100 and $200) for a broken tv, in my grown adults room. We had two rooms for two nights (my husband and I in one room and my adult children in their own room). They never even used or touched the tv and we were gone more than we were there. My husband had actually been in there room and there was nothing wrong with the tv. The charge came almost 12 hours after we checked out, not to mention the desk clerk made a comment at checkout what a great deal we got on the room ( both of the nights for my kids room was the total of one night for the 4th). The have reported/disputed with my credit card company and with Choice Hotels. There is no breakfast. The lobby looks like crap. The parking situation isn't the greatest. It looks nothing like the pictures, maybe after it's renovated, that's if they aren't done. There's no gym either. read more

This hotel is clean and affordable. The room we have looks newly remodeled and is very nice for the price. The walk in shower was an unexpected perk, as was the touch mirror light. Haven't had the breakfast, yet, but this is much nicer than other hotels that have cost more. read more

I chose this hotel based off of reviews and fully regret it. People did comment about poor lighting and now I see why. The poor lighting hides all the mold and mildew everywhere. We reserved two rooms. The first one was ok, we did find mold in the bathroom though. The second one smelt of mold and mildew immediately upon opening the door. It even felt damp in the room. The shower is full of mold. Lamp shades are dusty and moldy. The carpet must be 50 years old. If the room next door runs their water, it sounds as if the water is running down the wall. It's loud. Then no hot water and we were told the technician would be in the next morning to fix it- asked for price reduction...told we must talk to manager, who was not in. 3rd day: went sight seeing without showers again and came back at 2:30 pm and asked about the hot water at front desk. She said the plumber hadn't come in yet -would we like to change floors or get a discount. We said a full days discount at least and she said we would have to talk to her manager who is not currently here but he would be in a few minutes. Later went downstairs to go to pool and a whole group of people were gathered at the front desk (from the 5th floor) manager (Vincent)said he would move us all and compensate us.... So we had to move rooms on our last night but at least we had hot water that evening. We were never compensated for our inconvenience. read more

Clean and friendly, that's the most important thing to me, also a decent breakfast and a waffle maker, yay! Location was good we walked everywhere we wanted to go including to the island right across the street. I'be stayed at this location multiple times in the past. I have been a Choice Privileges member with Gold or Platinum status for twenty years. Booked a guaranteed King Room on the Choice Hotels website, hotel assigned a two queen room, when I asked why; I was informed "They were overbooked on king rooms so they upgraded me to a 2 queen room". As no satisfactory option was available, I cancelled the room, exited the hotel and booked a competitor hotel not affiliated with Choice Hotels, from the parking lot. If this hotel treats loyalty in this manner, I will avoid them and recommend others avoid as well. read more

My husband booked a week vacation well in advance and the reviews of this hotel look great. Checked in for the first night of our trip, was given a key for a room that was already occupied, and we barged in on the people in bed! Staff seemed less than apologetic, given the situation, and when we finally did get into the correct room, it was very dirty- there was food on the floor, hair in the bed, the furniture was all beat up, wallpaper peeling of the wall, the handle on the Jacuzzi tub was broken, and there was significant dripping in the tub. Luckily, we were able to book our week reservation to another hotel at the last minute but of course paid a premium for doing so. When my husband indicated that we needed to cancel, they weren't very apologetic and didn't try to accommodate us or assist us in anyway. Leads you to believe this sort of thing has happened before. We were also nine hours from home and could've been left high and dry. Beware! read more

We just got back from a five night stay here. We always stay here when we go to Pigeon Forge. The staff are always nice. The rooms are always nice and clean and very comfortable. Poncho does a great job on breakfast and love the coffee. Ethan is always very helpful and nice. Vincent, the manager is very nice and professional. He is a great asset to Clarion Inn. He is awesome. Outstanding service - they really know how to cater to their guests. I selected the hotel because it got the highest rating in TripAdvisor and Yelp. The hotel is less than two years old, rooms are nice and very clean, and staff are very friendly. Best part was free WIFI, a room with complimentary massage chairs (who needs to spend $$$ for spa treatment, haha), hot breakfast buffet from 7-10:30am (with omelette station, DIY waffle maker, Krispy Kreme donuts, etc), and snacks after 7:15pm (cookies, popcorn vendor, lemonade, and live music). They also offer discount tickets to the movie theater next door, and ~$10 off tickets to some of the area dinner shows. The only disappointing things were the pool size (but perfect for small kids) and orange juice that tasted like Sunny Delight. Seriously just picky points. Otherwise overall, great stay! We made reservations in advance for Fall break at this hotel. We have stayed here at least 15 times since it opened. Our bathroom was covered in mold. The wall, the ceiling. We told the front desk and they told us they had no more rooms. We had to find another hotel last minute during Fall Break. Not only was it inconvenient but it was expensive. First of this hotel is not near the Island. It is across the Parkway and then down a road. Again this is not part of the Island. Now what I didn't like about it. The lighting. So dark. Most hotels are not well lit this one is so bad have to keep your balcony door open. The shower is dark. The room with the toilet is very dark. The worse lighting I have seen. Next rooms have no insulation between them. Heard the lady the first night cough all night. She coughed and her husband talked. I don't think they hardly slept at all. This was our first time at this hotel in Pigeon and it will be out last. read more

There is always coffee available near the elevators as well as an Enhanced Water Machine that has flavored waters. Each night between 7-8pm they make popcorn and fresh baked cookies. There are also snack machines and soda machines on several floors. The rooms are well kept. I travel for my job and the rooms are on par and even nicer than some of the Hampton Inns. Small balcony, fridge and microwave, desk and a sitting chair. The beds were firm but too hard. Pillows were good and the AC works great. Discount tickets for everything is available at the front desk. Walk to the grocery stores, Publix and Kroger (w/Starbucks) are nearby. Walk to the Forge Movie Theater, Lumberjack Fued, The Track go-carts and much more. Nice view of the Island's Ferris Wheel from our balcony. read more

We stayed here during a long weekend we were up for the UT football game and during peak time of the Fall leaf season. The hotel is very conveniently located and easy to get into and out of. Also it is very clean, which is the most important thing we look for in a hotel. The breakfast is as good as most local breakfast restaurants. Biscuits, made to order omelets, waffles, bacon, sausages, grits, gravy, etc. The service is also top notch. My mother,who was with us, sleeps with a fan blowing on her every night. Well, she forgot hers on this trip. After going to Wal-Mart to buy on with no luck, we came back empty handed. We asked the front desk if they had one on the off chance they did, and they gave us the one that was being used in the office. We have never experienced this level of customer service at a hotel before. This will be our future hotel for all trips to Pigeon Forge. read more

I'm very disappointed in our stay. In the beginning, the room was clean. The carpet had duct tape where the tile ended and carpet began. The housekeeping was terrible. On the first day, they came in and only gathered trash and left fresh towels. Did not make beds. They did grab the tip. On the second day, they did a nice job cleaning, but they left the dirty plunger on the bathroom floor. Also, the toothbrush was turned upside down in the cup and wet (?). We threw it away and went out to purchase another. The third day, no cleaning, just trash removal. Again, they grabbed the tip. They didn't even leave us washcloths. We had to get them at the desk later. The balconies are very close together, and other people were smoking on theirs, which affected our ability to enjoy ours. The location is by the Harley-Davidson store, so there was often a lot of loud noise from motorcycles as well. I definitely would not recommend this hotel. read more

Very impressed with the accommodations and offering. Check in and out were veer smooth with gracious and informative front desk staff. Rooms were clean and spacious. Two double beds. Seems the room could be fitted with another main light. The ceiling fan does not have one and the room seemed rather dim. Nice bathroom and shower with granite countertops. Free Wi-Fi in the room. We were greeted in the evening with free popcorn and fresh-baked cookies. Free beverages. The breakfast buffet was much better than I would've expected. They offered an omelette station French toast waffle-maker bagels donuts bacon sausage eggs fruit cups yogurt cereal and more. There are four pools, two indoor and two outdoor. They have a hot tub inside and a decently sized pool. Outside there is a lazy river, a waterslide, and another hot tub. Not much bad I can say about this place. The price was reasonable, we got it for $140 and we were even allowed a late check out till 2 PM. Well done Clarion! read more

A great place for visitors hiking smoky mountain national park! They offered a lot of healthy breakfast options (including made to order omelettes) and have two hot tubs to ease sore muscles at the end of the day. Hotel claims to be 100% smoke free. As you enter or leave through the main entrance they allow smokers to congregate in the front entrance area. The smoke is overwhelming as you walk through this area. Totally disgusting. We have 3 more nights of having to go through this absolutely disgusting area every time we enter or leave the hotel. I loved this hotel. We stayed an entire week. Being an ex-hotel manager, I am very picky when it comes to cleanliness, I usually bring my own cleaning supplies, but this hotel was wonderful. I felt right at home. They have massage chairs in the game room. Free popcorn and cookies at night! Great full breakfast. The staff is very friendly. Great location, and a spectacular view from our 6th floor room. The pools were nice and clean. Lobby is nice and comfortable, they have a baby grand piano and a really cute parakeet. Wow. This place seems to impress absolutely everyone who's ever stayed here. I get it. After being literally snowed out of our 4-day weekend plans (we reserved a cabin and my car, even with brand new tires, could not trek the icy/snowy hill it sat on, not to mention more precipitation and cold forecasted the next couple days), my boyfriend and I wearily Yelped local hotels and this place won out by far (other than the Christmas place I let him check out just to humor him. They acted like checking for availability was a foreign concept when we called). Anyway, I've been sitting on our comfy hotel bed, watching the snow fall for all of about 20 minutes and I think this weekend may be salvageable yet. Thanks, Clarion, you saved the day! read more

I cannot say enough about how great an experience this hotel gave us. The breakfast alone saved me at least $30-$40 for my family of four. They have a cook for made-to-order omelets. The indoor pool, outdoor water slide and jacuzzi do not close until 2am. The rooms were very clean and the staff deserve 6 stars. The mattresses are firm. My wife said they were hard because our mattress at home is plush. I enjoyed it. They also have a bird. read more

This was our third time staying at Clarion Inn and the first two times were exceptional but this time it wasn't a great experience. The front desk staff were totally different from last time- the guy was not only unfriendly as can be but he had no interest in helping us with anything. And when we checked into our room there was hair in the bed which really grossed me out and it made the bed feel very unclean to me. I was very happy with the heated lazy river and how it was opened until 2am, that was awesome. read more

Competitive rate, super clean rooms, and friendly staff always willing to help with directions or recommendations. They have a HEATED out door pool and lazy river. Which was so very very nice. We went in Feb, which is off season and the pools/hot tubs were PACKED. The hot tub got a little gross after so many people were coming in and out. So I stuck to the pool with the slide. Which, the slide rocked! Maybe a little bumpy, but super fast and fun. Just not very deep. They have iPads in the lobby to use along with two computers in an office area, with a fax machine. Message chairs! They have three on the bottom floor, which are just amazing! The wife and I spent a couple of nights here in January. It is one of the best hotels that we have stayed at. We enjoyed the pool and both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. I have only stayed here once. It was clean and didn't have the musty smell that many hotels have. Upon check-in, the staff was polite & professional and greeted me with a smile. Aside from having a name that is a bit deceptive (Its not near Dollywood), this is a very good place. The lobby is impressive and inviting, even with the sad parrot in the corner. Rooms are a bit small (ours was a handicap-accessible) but comfortable - mini balconies and all. Quiet air conditioners, real high-def flatscreens (and HD service), nice touches like a flavored & chilled water dispenser in the lobby, adequate wi-fi connections (a bit slow), and a lots of pools. Beds are just fine and the chairs in the room are actually useful. Downsides? Awkward parking with inadequate handicap spaces given the clientele. The lack of assist bars in the shower/tub. Overall, not enough to prevent a return visit, though. Name issue? Should be named more like "Clarion - Island Drive" read more
