If I could give 0 stars, I would. I had a very frustrating experience with this eye doctor's office. I scheduled two separate appointments, and both were canceled without any notification to me. For the first one, I confirmed the appointment three times--twice by phone and once by text--yet they continued to call to confirm, only to cancel it anyway without informing me. I gave them another chance and made a second appointment a month later. When I showed up, I was told it had been canceled again, and neither I nor the staff at the location had been notified. This was a complete waste of my time, and it's incredibly disappointing to deal with such poor communication and scheduling practices. read more

Brunswick location: During their BOGO event, I spent over $600 on new frames/lenses AFTER insurance. The Dr did a thorough job and recommended I start using readers (I wear bifocals). Some may say, why, isn't that why you have bifocals? Since I read a good bit & use my phone/ipad a great deal, it seemed like a reasonable suggestion. However, the whole BOGO event was wrapped around a donation of glasses to the Lions Club that appears sketchy now. The premise, if you weren't happy with the 2nd pair (which were going to be my readers) then you can donate them. The glasses arrive, I'm not happy with either pair. The readers (the 'free' pair) arrived with a broken frame & they were so tight on my face, I swear they made them in a child's frame. They swore they didn't. The office manager sent them off to be fixed. Next up, the pair I paid for, I couldn't see clearly out of the reading area of the right eye. I left with these after being told to try wearing them for a while to see if things improve. No improvement and I learned they didn't put the driving transition in the lenses. Working with the office manager, she said, she would take care of everything and make things right for both glasses. The next text I received told me my glasses were ready. Visited again to still find problems. Free frames/lenses were still tight & small, but not broken this time. She told me to wear them for a while to see if things get better (seems to be their mantra). When I wore them they are still tight & small, and I have a fish bowl view thru the lenses, which makes me nauseous. I don't wear them at all! (see why I call the BOGO sketchy). Still working with OM, several more visits regarding the frame/lenses of the ones I paid for, I couldn't see out of the reading portion & they are so heavy, they are making large indents/black and blue marks on both sides of my nose. I have been there to replace the nose pads, to bend the frames, Re-exam, etc., but nothing fixes the problem! From my last visit (weeks ago), I'm still waiting for a call back for a better solution. Oh did I mention they convinced me to take the insurance, which does nothing! Actually, they had put that charge on my bill without asking if I wanted it. When I saw it, I told them I didn't want it, but they said, it's always suggested you take it because it replaces the glasses when things go wrong. No paperwork was given to me so I could prove that it really did what they were promoting (yes, that was my mistake to fall for that BS). As a last resort on my last visit, I asked if I could just get new frames, but was told it would cost $40 more as a restocking fee...are you kidding me...no way! Exactly when does that insurance kick in? Still waiting for callback with resolutions. Needless to say, not using this business again. read more

I would give no stars if I could. I purchased a pair of glasses after I had my eye exam from there. After waiting several weeks for them to come in I pick them up. The measurements and lenses were wrong. I could not see at all out of them. They admitted the lenses were not the right prescription and bifocal measurement. They send them back out. Weeks later after waiting I go to try them on the second time They were so wrong that I couldn't see anything at all. The temple of the glasses was bent badly and it was metal. The lady informs me that they were fine and there was nothing they could do. So after my appointment with the eye doctor 6 months later for eye tests I show him the glasses. The eye doctor said they were so wrong that I needed to tell them to redo them for the third time. I am told since it's past their 30 day return policy there was nothing they could do. The person who sells them admitted after checking them they were not able to be worn. The no line bifocal was the entire lenses. Admitted they were wrong And then asks if I wanted to buy another pair!?!! First no. They messed up so badly they were the worst unwearable glasses I've ever owned. I let them firmly know I will never buy another pair from them again as I didn't get them to fix what was freely admitted were done wrong. so for 9 months I've had no glasses. I need them to see! Now I'm getting the run around on how they were trying to correct their mistakes. The calls that were promised never happened. How hard is it to send them out and get them done right? I would rather my money back. They are the most unprofessional eye glass place I've ever had the bad fortune to deal with. We'll over 300 down the drain and I cannot see. read more

I had an appointment today with Dr. Idell. I had never been to Clarkson Eyecare before today, and I had a great experience. Dr. Idell was very thorough and provided me with all the answers to my questions. I have already made my next appointment with her for next year. The entire staff made me feel so welcome. Made an appointment with them when I had an exam Sept of 2023, when I showed up for appt Sept 2024 was told I didn't have an appt, that it was unconfirmed so it dropped off the schedule. And no I never received a phone call for confirmation. I specifically chose the Brunswick location because I liked the Doctor (there is one much closer in Medina where I live). This business does not update their insurance information. When I looked for an eye care place on my insurance website said Clarkson Eyecare covers my insurance. I made the appointment, and an individual called me back to confirm appt and my insurance. That person informed me that it was good. I arrived at Amy appt and started filling out their intake form. Halfway through the front desk person then tells me my insurance is not covered! All the time of me make appt, having it confirmed, arranging my schedule and arriving on time, just to tell me I am not covered! NO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

I emailed their main office yesterdayand got results immediately. Clarkson Eye Care called me this morning had me take in my eyeglasses into them at my convenience. They replaced my frames at no cost to replace the new frames I got on the 30th of June as they were defective. I was very pleased with the manager, Grace who was kind and professional. Let's face it... you can get eyeglasses anywhere these days, and special pricing is always being advertised. However, I am 68 years old, and I want professional care for my eyes, so I did not choose any of the mass market services. At Clarkson I got just what I needed with the most appreciated bonus of true customer care. Dr. Sandy Kraft was thorough, took her time explaining everything she did, and was incredibly patient (even though I'm sure she has to say and do the same things numerous times each day). She made me feel that she truly cared about me and the health of my eyes. When I asked Sandy to help me select the type of lenses I should get, she did a comprehensive interview about my wants and needs, and I ended up getting progressive lenses. Once I had completed the testing, I selected my glasses with the help of Sheree, the dispensing optician. Again, I never felt rushed and I felt that Sheree did a great job of listening to my personal preferences as she offered me different frames to try. I did not feel that anyone was pushing me toward a certain type of frame (as was often the case in the past when an employee was most likely on commission).
