They overcharged me by $100+ and they did fix it but never apologized. The staff member who showed me the frames led me to the most expensive and kept recommending ones over my stated budget. Then she automatically added a $40 warranty without me knowing until I questioned the bill on-site. She didn't make eye contact and over charged me, which I had to call on the phone for 30 minutes to get it sorted. Then I had to go in person to continue getting it sorted and finally got my refund. With all of these issues, I was never issued an apology. And I emaile Jessica to complain but never received a response. I would not recommend and will not go back.​ read more

From the moment I walked into this establishment, everyone was professional, caring, and made sure that I was completely comfortable!! The establishment is clean, and very well managed! Other people came in and they were just as professional, and helpful to them. It's obvious the people who work here love what they do ! They are an example of how all medical offices should be run, and patients should be treated!! They were efficient from the time I arrived, to the time I left! I feel so blessed to have found this place! Special shout out to Mr. Maldonado, who is professional, and gives amazing care to his patients!!! The office is so clean, the optometrist is VERY smart!!! I wish I could rate as ZERO!!! 1st off, my entire family and I have been going to Clarkson in Lutz beside Costco for the last 5 years, now our Dr has left since giving birth. I have gone to the location on west 54 in Lutz once for a med appointment. This morning I tried to make an appointment at the Lutz location on west hwy 54 and was greeted with the rudest, most arrogant, obnoxious, argumentative person I have had to deal in years for ANY reason. All the guy wanted to do was argue with me about what insurance I do and do not have. I have been going to the location in Lutz side Costco without 1 single issue for 6 years an now I have some smart*** wanting to tell me I do not have Cigna Vision, and I do not have VSP now either. Instead of listening to me so I could tell him I have Cigna medical and vision thru my work and I also have VSP thru my wife's work, he just wanted to argue with me telling me I did not have either one. I guess I am supposed to pay for all of this insurance, use it for 15 years and now all of a sudden I am the dumb*** that doesn't know what he is paying for every month. Which has been the same for years!!! When I ask him if he wanted to see my Cigna Vision card, and read him my ID #, he stated "No, i don't need to see it". Worst customer service I have had in years. I guess Clarkson has gotten so big now they have forgotten that customer service is what made them successful and there is a eye care facility on every corner now days. I guess i will be finding one that actually cares about its customers instead of a Clarkson that spends their time trying to prove to their customers that they know more about the insurance we pay for every month than we do. The Doctor is great, but the billing department is not very great. My wife attempted to get a refund on her glasses and she was told they would put her in a different pair/style. No refund was given and they sent a bill for more than expected after the insurance would not pay anything else. I get the insurance thing, but no refund? I made a bunch of calls to have the issue resolved and all I am told is we will look into it. They just resend the bill and never reach back out to explain anything. Beware of their sales tactics to put you in new frames even though you only want new lenses. They had me buy the same frame to get the lenses. Avoid the company if you can. The pure attitude you get just for simply giving your information they clearly hire office staff that have been living in caves for hundreds of years with no human contact. The Doctor is nice and knowledgeable but the prices for even just lenses are outrageous! And I'm talking single vision...The manager of the Sunlake location is not helpful and didn't even explain the cost breakdown... just said 400 how do you want to pay? Then I go home and see an optional warranty was put on there without even asking me if I wanted it... I also apologized for being 8 minutes late and the manager said you almost got the cut off time with an attitude. I feel uncomfortable here and I'll go elsewhere... also my husband and son included ...so the 3 of us are looking for better option.... read more

Beware! Now we know how they can afford to have a staff repeatedly calling to try to make appointments. My wife went for an eye exam and was charged over $600!! She got a "contact" exam- that she didn't need. They ordered her contacts- that she did not need (she orders them on line). They told her doing all this as a package is cheaper than the $900 it would have cost. Like they were giving her a deal!! In addition, she brought back in the glasses that she got last time that broke TWICE the first 2 weeks she had them. They told her that she waited too long to bring them back for third time, so she literally threw them right in their garbage can. Another $300 wasted. All she needed was new glasses. I feel bad for all the businesses that have suffered that past year due to the pandemic. But trying to make up your lost revenue by screwing people isn't a wise business plan.
