There is a reason why there are not any reviews recently for this company. Florin was a personal recommendation from a family friend who had a positive experience a few years back. We called to enlist his services at our home. He was prompt to come out and bid the job. He advised his schedule was busy and he would be able to schedule us in one month. Our first mistake was he was highest by far of 3 additional companies bids after he disappeared. He had his "partner" Adrian come out to survey the job as Florin himself would be in Texas when the job started. We scheduled the date. Adrian never showed, red flag number one. He apologized and rescheduled and came over and surveyed the job. Adrian offered floor trim services as well. Asked for a quote and was advised Florin would send estimate.... Never received. Clarified later that work was still scheduled, assured yes. Florin messaged me 5 days before wood delivery for acclimation and needed deposit. I stated he could come at any time for check. He informed me he was in Texas and could not come for check he requested nearly 10,000 dollars via Zelle. I informed him if that was the case 1. Zelle did not allow that much money to be sent. 2. His intuit quickbook estimate is not a contract and would need a signed contract to send money. He assured me he had 5 star reviews. This is how he did things. He also stated "if this job fell through it would have no impact on his company". I offered to remedy the situation by drafting a Docusign contract. He was not comfortable signing the contract as he was unsure of the local and state regulations regarding installation of flooring in Illinois. When we insisted on a contract and refused to Zelle him without one he stopped responding. Save yourself the trouble Florin is not for your floors! read more

We had a good experience with Florin and team. He was on time for the estimate, provided the necessary insurance certificate for our HOA, clearly communicated schedule and payment, and what to expect in terms of the final product. I appreciated that he never rushed us and showed us a couple of sample stains on our floors before we committed to a final stain color. We went with Dark Walnut. Our floors had scratches from the previous owner's pet, some raw patches, as well as dark spots from urine. The majority of them vanished with refinishing, except for a couple of really dark spots near the back door but they were still significantly improved. The color and finish came out just like we wanted. The work was consistent throughout even in the hard to reach places and tight corners we were a little nervous about. For example, we couldn't remove our fridge and laundry machines and they were able to finish really close underneath that you can't tell unless you get up close. We did find stray stain splotches here and there on the walls, kitchen counter, and doors. We quickly scrubbed most of it away, but some couldn't come out. One door spring was stick to the door (likely from some stray clear coat) and when we pulled on the door it ripped a small circle of paint off the door. Fortunately, we are doing to re-paint that door, but the brand new door spring is all stained. read more

The service was terrific - great communication regarding the job and schedule. We had existing factory finished wood flooring that we wanted to add to and refinish the existing floor to a lighter color. The whole job worked out great. It is not possible to see where the old and new flooring meets as they feathered in the new flooring before sanding. Factory finished flooring has a bevel and the new flooring is square - after they sanded the entire first floor looks new. Great Job! read more

My husband and I thought we were going to redo our wood floors ourselves. After realizing how much work it was going to be and being on a tight schedule we decided to find someone to do our floors in our ENTIRE house. Just redoing them and installing actual wood floors in some rooms. Florin was wonderful. Our floors were redone about 2 months ago and I finally got to this review. I called almost everyone to redo our floors in a home we had just purchased. The people we called seem to be shady and not taking measurements. We got a bit desperate and finally landed on classic floors chicago. Florin came over same day, measured our floors, was SUPER informative and took the time to explain the process of redoing our floors as well as the installation of new floors in our bedroom. Florin even took the time to check some parts of our floors that were squeaking and fixed those parts so they no longer squeaked as much. The job was done beautifully, it was quick, painless and they left leaving everything super clean. We are redoing our kitchen next year and plan to have Florin come back to replace the tile with wood floors and to redo our staircase as well. I'm sorry I don't have pictures. We used them 3 years ago and they did a fantastic job. Floors are still holding up well. When we pulled the carpet up the original hardwood was in pretty bad shape. And there were holes in the floor from the old vent system. Floren and his crew did an awesome job. You can't tell where the repair work meets the old flooring. These guys are awesome. read more
