Classic on Noble is one of the best restaurants I've dined in and it never disappoints. I had a fried green tomato salad to start and Salmon for the main course. Both were prepared perfectly. Two co-workers and I had lunch at Classic today. They had been there before and said it was good, but a bit pricey. I'd never been there but I wanted to try the shrimp and grits because of the hype. Well, it's all that - hype. The shrimp still had the tails attached. The rest of the plate was covered in a cheesy sauce with tomatoes, andoille sausage, and some other ingredients that weren't recognizable. This is not the shrimp and grits meal of the traditional South, and this version is forgetful. One co-worker had a burger, the other had a turkey club sandwich and they bit said their food was good, but not worth the $20/plate. Waiter was slow in bringing our food and returning with our payment. He stopped to take another order after he rans our cards but before bringi by them back to us. Regrettable lunch. I have not spent much time in Anniston, but everyone I've met there has said if you're wanting a nice meal, The Classic is the place to go. I found my way through a somewhat dingy alley up into the back entrance to find a beautiful ballroom like establishment with beautiful table settings and fresh flowers adorning each table. This place was clearly a prime spot for business meetings as you saw many groups of men and women in suits and formal attire. I decided to get an authentic experience and chose the Southern chicken for my main meal. It was delicious! It came with bacon flavored collard greens, which I didn't even know I liked. It also came with some very tasty macaroni and cheese, though it did become rather rich after a few helpings. Overall it was a really beautiful experience and I would love to go again and get a spot on the second floor to get a prime view of Anniston. read more

I'm not from, nor do I live near, Anniston, but I was told that Classic on Noble would be a good choice to cater my nearby wedding. After calling several times with no answer, I was finally able to leave a message to have the manager call me back. They never did. I quickly dismissed them as a potential caterer, given that they couldn't even call back a potential customer. However, I decided to give them a try for my bridesmaid luncheon the day before my wedding. I made a reservation several weeks in advance for 11:30 am on a Friday. My bridal party and I (6 of us total) arrived to a nearly empty restaurant and were sat in our own room. Our server appeared several minutes later, clearly unhappy to be there. I ordered unsweetened tea to drink, which had not yet been made and apparently inconvenienced our server a great deal, as I was then asked, "what do you want?" In a very rude tone while having my order taken. Once our food arrived, which was only so-so, she hardly came back at all. We had to request a dessert menu ourselves, again with our server seeming very put out that she had to spend more time with us. All in all, we were there maybe an hour. We were all so uncomfortable that none of us wanted to linger and enjoy each other's company, even though the restaurant remained mostly empty for the duration of our meal. I will not be going back, and I am very happy that I did not select them to cater my wedding. I can only imagine the stress they would've added to my wedding day. read more

Classic on Noble is one of my favorite places to eat in town. It's one of those places where I take friends from out of town, just so I can brag that this place is near my house. For lunch, I almost always order the dill chicken salad, but the noble salad is also amazing. The fried green tomato salad is really good too. I don't go to dinner there much, but I have had some great fish dishes when I've gone in the evening. Classic has a great breakfast and has fed the board of Realtors on several occasions. The place easily accommodates large parties comfortably. The Sunday brunch is definitely the best that Classic has to offer. For around $25, you can eat yourself stupid. Everything imaginable is on this buffet. Some of my favorites include fried green tomatoes, noble salad, seafood salad, pasta bar, shrimp and grits, boiled shrimp, broccoli and apple salad and Texas caviar. One table actually features an omelet and waffle bar where a you select the ingredients and it's made fresh while you wait. Another table has kid food--little hot dogs in buns, PB&J, chicken fingers. This brunch definitely has something for everyone. A table in the rear is completely covered with desserts--cakes, pies, mousse, cheesecake, brownies, etc etc. I usually don't even make it to that table. Everything else is too good to waste space on cake. The decor is also very nice. The art is attractive, and I love the colorful ladies in the women's room so much that I made one of my own. It didn't turn out near as cute. Fresh flowers are always a nice touch, and Classic is always filled with them thanks to Evans Flowers. The are the finishing touch. read more

One of the best restaurants in Anniston, AL. I had to try the Shrimp & Grits since it was on the "100 things to try in Alabama before you die" list. The shrimp was cooked the perfection. Plump and juicy, and the grits was so savory full of flavors mixed with bacon and turnip greens. David and Kathy (the owners) are the best and I love them! Thank you for taking care of us. Just excellent service. Talk about southern hospitality! The scallops was good as well! Most popular dish is the Shrimp & Grits, Seared Blacken Ahi Tuna, and Blacken Salmon. Should definitely try it out. Never had southern gourmet food before and it was very good. The restaurant upstairs level was my favorite. I felt like I was in a dining room at someone's home, so you get a comfy warm home feel. There's also another room perfect for business lunch and dinner if you are looking for a professional setting to take care of things. They also have a nice bar upstairs and the drinks are served stiff (how I like it). Vodka tonic was what I ordered so it was good. Would highly recommend. However over the last couple of years the quality seems to be going down as the price goes up... We have been to Classic on Noble probably a dozen times through the years and it has always been spectacular, until today. While the food was ok, it was not great. The only time we saw our waitress was when she presented our bill. If it wasn't for the young lady that brought us our water and tea, we would have never spoken to anyone but the hostess who sat us. What was once a place that I told everyone " you must go there", now I am not so sure. I know everyone has an off day, and I hope that is the case here. Our group of ten had reservations but had to wait an hour to be seated. In the meantime, other large groups (11-14) who had come in after our group (10) were seated promptly. The Maitre D made no great effort to accommodate us. We finally stated we would split our group. One word comes to mind about the managerial staff: incompetence. This place has elegant decor and a pretty solid front of house staff. However if your plate cost is at minimum 23 dollars for a dinner entree on a Saturday night the food better be hot and not just having sat under a heat lamp for 6 to 9 minutes. The expo who let that one fly should be tarred and feathered, all and all it was a rather pleasant experience yet you could tell after waiting for 45 minutes for our food the kitchen probably was going down in flames or at best not working as a team. This was the first plate I have ever sent back to the kitchen in my ten year career as a chef. I apologize to the line cook who is reading this knowing that he played our twelve tops food and allowed it to not cohesively be served to our table hot and ready to consume. It is necessary that we must strive for excellence regardless of the situation because every day we touch people's lives with the food we serve. read more

Probably the best restaurant in Anniston. It is an upscale southern cuisine restaurant with beautiful decor. The shrimp and grits (Jumbo white gulf shrimp scampied served over grits with fresh collard greens, andouille sausage, tomatoes and bacon topped with shaved parmesan cheese) is one of my favorite dishes as well as the Noble Salad. (Fresh greens, sliced strawberries, sliced apple, cranberries, crumbled bleu cheese, spiced pecans and a tangy dressing) Also good is the sushi grade blackened tuna. The Menu is great and the food is delicious! You will enjoy the decor with all of the chandeliers and elegant decor... White tablecloths, and even the white napkins are fabric--- not paper! I have always experienced friendly and very professional service from their staff. It is also a place for groups dining.
