Beautiful small lounge inside the beautiful Skirvin hotel lobby. The bartender was taking care of the whole room on our Sunday night visit. We sat at the bar and she greeted us with a smile and menus. I ordered a negroni which was very nicely crafted. My SO ordered a draft of which they have a few. I'm sorry, not sorry but I don't get the charm of this place. I mean, does it have potential? Yes. is the charming old man playing the red piano iconic to the hotel? Yes. I've been here twice now and it's loud, cold, and uncomfortable. We were watching football and asked to have one TV switched over to the game but we were told something about it being stuck on this cable shopping channel. This isn't a Motel 6... The wait staff are perfect. They seem to help each other out and it seems like it's one big, happy team. We ordered food because we are celebrating New Year's Eve. This is the second time I've eaten here and been completely unsatisfied. We got the cauliflower appetizer and it was actually phenomenal. Perfectly breaded and fried. Sriracha dusting and drizzled sauce made the perfect complements. But my friend's main meal and my main meal left so much to be desired. My friend must've put three or four teaspoons of salt on hers. Mine tasted like a lean cuisine out of the box. Actually, the lean cuisine would've had more taste and been a whole lot cheaper!!! I used salt, pepper and then I had to ask for Sriracha sauce and red pepper flakes. I doused my meal and to bring it up to mediocre. So sad.... read more

It was crowded with what appeared to be after work groups, but we were lucky and snagged a table. It has a nice vibe and is fun. It is a bit noisy with the music and conversations. We weren't brought water until we asked about 30 minutes after being seated, and he rarely checked on our table. Additionally, the quality of the drinks was disappointing. Since we were staying at the Skirvin, and the air was getting frosty outside, it seemed natural to try the Red Piano for drinks and a bite. The space is warm and intimate, and our visit featured a singing pianist who, well, excelled at being a pianist. A server said we could seat ourselves "if we could find a spot". We indeed found a table in the back, and awaited a visit from the server. It took a bit, but she was friendly and attentive once she arrived. On the drinks front, we tried the signature Red Piano and a cranberry martini. Upon sampling, both were very tasty, but my GF and I decided to swap, with me taking the martini. The Red Piano featured rum, pomegranate liqueur, and cranberry juice, and it was definitely befitting the name in color, a beautiful moderate red. For food, we decided on the weekly flatbread featuring chicken, red onions, luscious cheese, and a wonderful crust. It was definitely a nice dish. Following that, we selected the "fancy mac and cheese", which consisted of cavatelli pasta, roasted chicken, smoked gouda, and poblano cream. It was a fairly good mac and cheese plate, although it would have been better if the chicken were in smaller chunks and better distributed through the pasta. Overall ambiance was classy, with a moderate noise level, and there are some TVs near the bar if you want to keep tabs on your favorite sports. We stayed at the Skirvin for a staycation birthday celebration in bad weather. Not wanting to go outside we opted to stay in and grab dinner at the Red Piano Lounge. It's probably not the place for a great dinner, but for drinks and a snack, it is a great bar. We enjoyed the live music and cool vibe. Excellent service and we had a Charcuterie tray. There was a very loud very drunk group of other customers that were disturbing everyone around them and just being obnoxious drunks, yelling, singing at the top of their lungs and discussing very graphic topics loud enough that everyone around them was grossed out. We moved away from them so we could hear the music. They were apparently asked to quiet down or leave because suddenly there was a "lady" standing up yelling at the top of her lungs and flipping the bird toward the bartender. After they left there was a small round of applause for the staff who had to deal with them. Thank you to the staff for taking care of that ugly business so the rest of us could enjoy the evening. read more

Husband and I stopped in here to get a drink after an event Thursday night. I'm such a girl as I always tend to notice the decor. Loved it! Marble tables leather studded chairs it just goes along with the decor of this vintage historical hotel! Service was great we had melody who was friendly and very attentive. She asked us three times how we were as we sipped on our drinks. Their drink selection was great also had everything from stiff scotches for the men to fruity Caribbean drinks for the girls. I was shocked at how reasonable their drink prices were also! My cocktail was only $6.50 I'd figure it being in a nice hotel it would have been at least double that. Probably my favorite hangout place/bar to go to any day of the week! Mo the bartender is very kind, and makes the best cocktails in OKC! I haven't tried many of the food items here besides the mac and cheese, turkey sandwich, and caesar salad which were all decent but nothing to really talk about. My favourite drink here is the Red Piano Cosmo, I don't think I could have a regular cosmo after trying their version of it. I also enjoy the Chocolatini, and wish I could have one every day for dessert, but of course I also don't want to get fat either so I stay refrain from drinking it often =D If you're staying at the Skirvin Hilton or in the downtown area give this place a try and make sure to ask for Mo to get the best service in town! read more

I am pretty picky in the places I go eat. I have been there twice since I'm in Oklahoma City in 2 days. The Red Piano Bar is definitely a good place to go eat, chill with friends, watch a sports game or bring a date. I'm giving overall a 4/5 stars. I'm giving a: Atmosphere 5/5: Garnished of red colour, a piano is standing in the corner and automatically play some music. Food 4/5: I love the hard Tacos. I tried also a Ceasar salad with a fresh grilled Atlantic Salmon on top. Service 3.5-4/5: First time I was here, the service wasn't that great but I was most than satisfied the second time. Four and a half stars really, because there's always room for improvement. For me, the bar tvs are kind of annoying, but I accept that in the modern age it's inevitable. Still, the drinks are nicely created, reasonably priced (several under $10), and the appetizer pizza is not too puny - plenty to share with a date unless you're ravenous. I really appreciate the dark, cozy, old world atmosphere here - leather banquettes, little round marble cafe tables, and an assortment of comfy club chairs invite you to settle in, sip a drink, and watch the people. There's a good view of the hotel lobby, making it fun to play "guess their business" as guests come and go. Also, my most favorite ceiling in Oklahoma City is in this bar. My neck may ache from gazing upward in admiration of the quirky characters who look down from a painted balcony, but it's worth it. I have dozens of questions about the artist, and what was in his mind as he painted this curious masterpiece, and I'll keep coming back until (and after) I get answers. read more

As you enter the lounge you see the elegance, luxury and can enjoy live music while you sip on your drink from the bar. For my dinner, I decided to go with the jumbo crab cake and the Caribbean craft cocktail. The crab cake was delicious, and the ingredients were fresh. So my celebrity friend was in town staying in the presidential Suite at the Hilton Skirvin Hotel for the weekend. We wanted to eat Lunch at the Park Avenue grill, but had just missed lunch. So we made reservations for dinner for later at the adjacent restaurant Park Avenue Grill. I really liked the seating in the red piano bar, which right in the entry was a red computerized piano that played music softly. The seating in this area is great from the chairs, couches. It's very intimate. Because this was Valentine's Day weekend, each woman in the bar area was accompanied by a red rose. How sweet was that? Kudos for the Skirvin Hotel. I ordered the upside down pineapple cake martini. The thick sweet cream accompanied by vodka, pineapple juice grenadine and heavy cream was very decadently delicious. The chicken and waffle was a very different from any other waffle that I had in Oklahoma. I really love the Red Piano Bar's version. The chicken was crispy, hot and seasoned. The maple syrup bacon was ingenious and complimented with thick savory gravy that I thought would not be good. When you order chicken and waffles you want to have the sweet, crunchy, and salty goodness. It wasn't really pricey, it only cost $6. Then I had the thin crust wood fire pizza. The cutting was off. It was as if they didn't have a real pizza cutter. However that is not to take away from the pizza. This pizza for $12 was amazing. It was fresh hot and good. Would I order again.......? The answer is absolutely yes I would. The staff was very helpful and patient. The only thing that I didn't like was the wait. It took a very long time for our food to come. But once the food arrived it was so good that it was so worth the long wait. I couldn't believe that I had passed by the Red Piano bar thinking that it was just some bar. I love this place. On the weekends late night it is a very nice place to socialize with friends without a club scene environment. read more

When I worked in the First National Center and parked in the Santa Fe, I literally had to walk past it to get home, so it was a great place to stop for an afterwork aperitif. Just as it was in the hotel's storied heyday during the first oil boom, in it's latest incarnation as one of the nicest hotels, and thus hotel bars in OKC, this is one of the best places to people-watch in OKC. It's always fun to try and spot stars in town for concerts, ball games or charity events. It gets a little loud at times, but don't all bars? The last time I stayed at the hotel for a wedding, we pretty much closed down the bar, until I commanded the piano man, "Play me out to Tiny Dancer!!!" The food has really been slacking here the past few times I've been. It was a little shocking to order the pizza for $14 on the menu that lists all the toppings, and once we got the bill it was a $20 pizza. Little misleading that an east coast pizza is really just a cheese pizza with each additional topping $1, even though the toppings are listed like its a supreme pizza. You would think for $20 that pizza would've been gold, but unfortunately it was mediocre. As always the atmosphere is fun and the drinks are flowing so that is always a bonus. Comfortable bar at the Skirvin Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. It has a lot of comfy couch seating, plus around a dozen or so bar stools. When it gets packed, the party spills out into the lobby, which is also equipped with some comfortable places to sit. Additionally, when the weather's nice there is a patio which wraps around the front and side of the bar. It can get quite crowded, but there's a lot of space for the crowd. I've been to several after parties at Red Piano, after a wedding reception or other event. Even when it's crowded it doesn't feel totally cramped. Red Piano has an average list of wines available by the glass. I'd say there are 5-7 or so of red and white respectively. There are always 4-5 beers on tap, and they are usually solid choices. It's got your typical liquors and some house mixed drinks. Bartenders are fairly knowledgeable and friendly in my experience. Additionally, most evenings they've got the piano player, which adds a nice ambiance. I've not been for happy hour during a weekday, but I understand it's a good scene. I don't typically leave reviews but I felt it necessary on this experience. I would have left zero stars if possible. I showed up to hang out with my mother and her friends that were staying at the hotel. They had been drinking wine before I got there. This is only relevant because they were staying at the hotel and by the time I arrived were a little tipsy but having a great time.. We went to dinner shortly after and arrived back to the hotel. I decided to grab another drink (I had only had one other glass of wine at dinner). A few ladies from our group had stayed at the bar with me and I'm not really sure what transpired at that point but there was clearly something going on with the bartender.. (and the server we had from earlier). Maybe they were discussing what the women had to drink ealrier in the evening, not really sure..? They handed us a few waters and really didn't acknowledge we were there after that. What happened next was truly embarrassing not just for myself, but for the entire establishment. She went on to mock us like we were drunks and asked if we really needed another glass of wine.. She kept on and seemed very proud to be treating us in that manner. I was a little shocked because I truly, at first, did not know if she was joking.. I quickly realized she was not. The way she approached it was very inappropriate and unprofessional. I respect not over serving alcohol to the other ladies in the group but that was certainly not the way to handle it. I have never came across anybody that had treated me or anyone else, the way the staff did this evening. So sad. The manager at the hotel was very accommodating and clearly upset by the way we were treated. Which was refreshing. We have been to the Skirvin many times and have always been well taken care of. read more
