TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! DO NOT COME HERE. THEY ARE LIARS AND SCAMMERS. Before I sat down, I clearly asked do they do acrylic and they said yes. They began doing my toes and asked me to pick my base color for my French tip. I said OK where are your base colors to choose from and they literally told me that they don't do that . So I had to sit there while they stared at me like I was an inconvenience picking a base color for my french tip. I did not succeed. Look at pics. Not only that, I HAD TO REPEAT TO THEM OVER AND OVER THAT I WANTED MY BOYFRIEND TO HAVE A REGULAR PEDICURE AND THEY INSISTED THAT IN ORDER FOR HIM TO GET CALLOUS REMOVER I HAD TO PAY $75+. I politely declined & they ended up doing it anyway because the basic pedicure already comes with that!! I seen other women in the shop come in to get pedicures and they were quickly swindled by their verbiage. Evil people. Oh! & to put the icing on the cake, I finally sit down for Tatiana to do my nails and she now begins to tell me that she doesn't do acrylic and that she's gonna do gelX on my nails because she feels that it is best for me and safer for my nails. BITCH IN WHAT WORLD?! Your dumb. I politely declined and I said no I specifically came into this establishment, making sure that you guys do acrylic and you guys assured me that you do. Some scrawny woman comes over and looks at me like I'm being another inconvenience and tells me yes it's true. Gel X is better for you so that's what we are going to do. Obviously, their on some sort of substance so I demurely decline and let them know that I have cases of Gel X nails & authentic Swarovski crystals at my house and if I wanted Gel X then I would've just done them myself at home. I continue to tell them that I have been getting acrylic on my nails for over the past five years and that this is what I want. She then tells me ok. Well, we can do dipping instead and that it is the closest to acrylic. I said fuck it OK. Look at the photos LMAO just trash. She gave me bulbus French tips on my nails and well, my toes are goners lmao Oh, and not only that she charged us 250$ in total. A simple gel X manicure and pedicure , along with a regular pedicure. I got a Cat Eye gel manicure at Classy Nail Salon NYC on June 4th, and only 7 days later, the manicure already looked very poorly done. The gel polish was lifting, and my hair kept getting stuck underneath the polish whenever I ran my fingers through my hair. The gap between my cuticle area and the gel was already clearly visible, making the manicure look much older than one week. I paid an extra $40 for the Cat Eye effect and also tipped 22%, so I was very disappointed with the quality of the result. For that price, I expected a clean, professional application that would last longer than a few days. Instead, the finish was uneven around the cuticle area, and the manicure started showing visible signs of poor application almost immediately. I went back to the salon to show them the issue, but I was not offered any proper solution. The only option I was given was to remove the manicure and redo it for another $40, which I assume would be before taxes, tip, and the additional credit card payment fee. After already paying extra for a service that did not hold up for even one week, I found that response very disappointing. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience. The manicure itself was not worth the additional cost, and the customer service afterward made the situation worse. I would not recommend paying extra for the Cat Eye service here. read more

Cindy did a wonderful job with my nails! She took her time on the details which I especially appreciated because a lot of other salons will go super fast and not get your opinion and half ass it. My only critique is that is was really expensive - $115 for a simple design on a Gel X nail set. Normally I get acrylic but apparently that would've been even more expensive. I don't live in New York though, so it might just be expensive to get a set of nails done around here (So I'm not docking any stars). Love my nails! read more

Been coming here pretty consistently (coming up on my 10th visit). I like it here. It's in a part of town I'm in frequently so it's easy for me to get to. The energy in here is super chill and everyone is very kind. They do not hesitate to tell you if something you are asking for is uncharged and I appreciate the transparency. I e recently started experimenting with (very subtle) designs, and Wendy has been both patient but also accurate. My last mani with her lasted almost 3 full weeks, and I only really needed to go was because of my cuticles and growth. When she removed the last polish from both my fingers and toes, my nails looked healthy. Like my hair, I'm on a nail growth journey and going to the same person on schedule is helping. I wish them prices were lower, but I enjoy the service so I'll definitely keep going. read more

Was visiting NYC and wanted to get a quick pedicure and relax before by 5hour flight home and this place was perfect. I did the green tea pedicure $65 plus a 10 min back massage ($15) while my toes were drying. Great way to get a like relaxation in before I head out of the city. read more

I have to say, as a person who is not a native of New York, I did not know what to expect in terms of how pleasant this experience would be. I was pleasantly surprised by how kind and accommodating all of the ladies were here! They were patient and polite! I think the highlight was the neck and shoulder massage that comes with the service! Top-tier! Had the worst experience here. Came in for gel manicure as I have in the past and the lady who was removing the gel was unbearably rough with the nail file taking off the gel to the point I had to stop multiple times and told her I no longer wanted to finish the manicure. Pain was unbearable I passed out in the salon. Unable to touch the top of my fingernails without shooting pain. Had to go to urgent care the day after since the pain was so bad and was told there were bruises under each nail. There is nothing to do but wait until the nail grows out since she took off most of my nail. Traumatizing experience. read more

I had my nails done ELSEWHERE with hard gel. When I spoke with that salon prior to my appointment, we discussed polygel & I confirmed they could be soaked off. When I had them done, they used another hard gel & informed me they had to be filed off & likened them to acrylics. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go back to that salon so I stopped in at Classy Nail & Spa after confirming they did acrylics and being told they knew how to remove them safely. Well, not so much. My nails are destroyed. She used the electric drill/file to remove the gel & went WAY too far. It didn't hurt when she removed them so I didn't realize what was going on. My nails are now paper thin & uneven. They snagged & broke way down within 24 hrs after the appointment. They continue to snag as the top of the nail (not the edge) is uneven due to the filing. I am now trying to moisturize them while pushing the cuticle back & taking gelatin and a nail supplement w hope to grow them out a bit quicker. The entire nail will have to grow out before they are "normal" again. It will take MONTHS if not a year. I can't speak to the manicure services (& was planning to go back for one before I realized the damage they did to my nails) but I DEFINITELY do not recommend their removal services for anything beyond a soak off. This was second time here since it became Classy Nails. I used to be a regular when this location was formerly Avanti Nails, so I was happy to see another nail salon in Avanti's place. I wasn't a fan of Sojo Nail Salon or Nail Stage salon in the same area, so I was excited about trying Classy Nails. Well, even though Classy Nails is now in this location, it's definitely not up to Avanti Nails standards . The first time I came, I got a regular pedicure. It was definitely basic. I actually had to tell the woman to put moisturizer on my feet. She didn't quite understand me and said that she did put on moisturizer, but it was the foot scrub so the nail tech next to her had to explain to her that she was supposed to also put moisturizer on my feet before polishing. The polish job was good. So I decided to come back and got one of their spa pedicures that was much more expensive than a regular pedicure. It was a bit rushed and the nail tech tried to skimp on the callous remover gel until I had to call her out on it. Then I let her talk me into a back massage. It was very subpar. She had really good hand pressure but she literally stayed in the same area for the whole 20 minutes and what was worse is that 3 women came in for pedicures and were super LOUD in the pedicure area while I was getting my back massage. Then their nail techs brought them to the area where I was getting my back massage because that's where the nail dryers were. OMG!!! They were even louder with chatter and laughing. Then my nail tech/masseuse began having a conversation with another person who worked there. It is extremely upsetting to pay for a back massage and can't even enjoy it because of the lack of courtesy of customers and employees when keeping the noise level down. Since they don't want to regulate the noise level, they should do the back massages in another area or in one of the closed off rooms. My pedicure and paint job was ok, but not as good as the first time and the first time was average at best. I had to clean some of the polish off of the cuticle line and I had to remove a small piece of skin in the cuticle area that was blatant but she clearly missed it. If I do come back, it will only be for the absolute most basic service because they do have great colors and they're not terrible, I've just had better work done especially when it was Avanti Nails, but I will never again spend over $100 here for a pedicure and a back massage only to get subpar service. Oh and be mindful that like some other places, they will try to upsell your service or try to add on stuff to get you to spend more money. read more
