So this is what happens when you don't have many options...you get stuck eating very mediocre food,…read moreat stupidly expensive Sconset prices. Food: - The sandwiches are bland. The "famous" meatloaf? It sucks. - They use store bought bread. What kind of a sandwich shop that is worth going to uses store bought bread? It'd be like going to an Italian restaurant and then seeing them throw a box of Barilla into a pot. Pathetic. - Other reviews that are positive comment on how great the chips are. Umm, those are bought from Nantucket Crisps. Different company. Go support a good local company, and hit up their location by the Steamship ferry dock. Service: - They hire bottom of the barrel high school or college aged kids who would rather be anywhere else but there. And they have the pitiful "Would You Like To Leave a Tip?" screen after you've been ignored for 2 minutes standing at the counter while the staff is on their phone. Ambiance: - Sitting outside, you are directly adjacent to the roundabout where the WAVE bus picks up/drops off. Yeah, super classy ambiance. Please pack your own lunch, or eat before you go on the bluff walk or whatever you're doing in Sconset. Skip Claudette's.

Quick and easy to get sandwich in the downtown area. Veggie options! Would come here againread more

So to be able to have something different was a great change of pace from just your typical sandwich. I believe my Wife got the smoked turkey sandwich, added cheese and red onion. It was good but nothing to write home about. The star of the show though was the egg salad. Best egg salad my Wife and I have ever had. If you stop in at Something Natural you have to get the egg salad. They also have an assortment of local drinks and juices to get with your food. We got a strawberry lemonade which paired well with the sandwiches and the weather. They have plenty of outdoor seating. The walk to this place was beautiful. Strongly suggest going to Something Natural on a nice sunny day.

I therefore opted for egg salad on herb bread with lettuce and tomato. We opted to eat our sandwiches there. When I opened the sandwich it was a crumbly mess that fell apart when I tried to pick it up. Both sides of the bread were soggy so it seemed as if the sandwich was made on a wet cutting board, I went back to show the young lady that the sandwich was inedible and she let me order something else and explained that the herb bread tends to be very delicate. I ordered salami and provolone on sourdough with no vegetables as I figured that was hard to screw up. After ordering she went to charge me for the new sandwich even though I didn't and could not eat any of the old sandwich. I had to ask to talk to a manager to explain what happened. He was not apologetic at all even though I showed him the sloppy, wet, falling apart sandwich. He did however make me a new one in the end without charging me. It is a beautiful setting I just think that they need to work on their sandwich making skills and their customer service.

It might have been one of the most delicious desserts I have ever had, my son got a donut and we got a chocolate chip cookie to go. We also got coffee to bring home and I grabbed the cutest tote bag. Staff were super friendly and it's a beautiful place. My son also had a blast on the little playground out front with some other kids. Definitely worth the trip!

Now... everything is going to cost you a pretty penny, but that's Nantucket life for you. In June, you can pick your own strawberries. They offer up breakfast sandwiches, lunch options, they even have daily dinner specials like roast turkey one night and a tri-tip another. Some items are great, somethings are ok and somethings are eh? For a one stop shop though, this place is it. A few things: I don't love the donuts, Bake Shop is way better. The lobster salad is delicious. The sammies? They're fine, Something Natural or Henry's are better options, but they suffice. The cookies are incredible. Their dips, their salads - all so good. The produce? I spend all my money on their tomatoes. Anything they grow, you should buy, anything they don't grow is way overpriced. If you have kids, they have a nice little play structure right by the picnic tables (about 6-8 picnic tables) which is fun for my 3 year old, but also my 7 year old. With that, Bartlett's is a Nantucket legend and we must all bow down to Queen B.
