My top go to crawfish spot. Since the one in Garden Grove burned down, I figured I'd write another review for their new location in Cerritos. I love the location. It's right in the middle of an Asian hub, across the street from Cerritos Mall. Perfect for a good dinner and movie (hint hint to all you men out there ;) ). For appetizers we ordered their garlic fries. It comes with a mustard mayo sauce, but I feel like it went better with ketchup...blasphemy right? I loved that the fries came out fresh and piping hot! The garlic and cheese wasn't too overpowering, the fries also had a good crunch to it. Definitely one of my new go-to appetizers when coming here! For the main course, we had snow crab legs, mussels, and shrimp with medium cannon ball sauce (cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper). Their sauce is what I think separates them from their competitors. Tastes like they use a ton of garlic and a ton of butter - recipe for a good time and a happy belly. I highly recommend getting their cannon ball over single flavors. For the seafood, it was actually my first time trying any crab at any "crawfish" spot. I'm very glad I did. It runs a little bit more expensive than the other options (~$17/lb.), but totally worth the extra money! Lastly, the mussels and shrimp were big and juicy so no complaints from my end. The plaza itself is a good spot to if you have extra time to kill. Especially since it's smack dab in the middle of boba central (85, class 302, etc.). Gotta wash down that food somehow :). Overall their new location offered good service and a good experience.10 out of 10 would come again. read more

Came here for my birthday. Got a pound of their peeled shrimp with the sha bang seasoning mild. Thought that it could have been spicier. Maybe next time I'll get the medium. Good shrimp and good price. Would recommend to anyone who wants something similar to boiling crab but doesn't want to drive all the way out to garden grove. Clean and nicely decorated / themed restaurant. The staff is friendly. Restaurant is located in a busy business / eatery plaza so it may be difficult to find parking depending on the time that you go. I love sweet teas and decided to try the peach iced tea. I was not disappointed. I asked for 4 refills! There were pieces of peaches in the tea that made it even better! For dinner, I ordered a pound of peeled shrimp cannon ball style. The shrimps were big and the sauce was tasty. I also ordered the Cajun Seafood Pasta. This was just as tasty. Better than what I expected! Its just like Boiling Crab but Better! Less time of a wait and they have a huge variety of food for a cheaper price, appetizers, tacos, soup, salads, pasta, sandwiches, fish even ribs! I recommend 1lb of shrimp (cannonball) (spicy) with Cajun fries and a side a steamed rice. The 1lb of shrimp is perfect for 1 person. They also sell Beer, draft or bottle ranges from $4-7 bucks or a pitcher for $17. The restaurant is surrounded with TVs. I used to always go to Boiling Crab but over the years I started liking Claws more. I like everything from the shrimp mussels and of course the king crab legs if you want to shell out more money (see what I did there?). I loveeeeeee this place. It's always such a treat going here! My family and I always make it a tradition to go here at least once every time I visit home. So glad to see this location in Cerritos. We used to drive all the way to Westminster for this goodness! I love the interior of this place, it's so festive. We always get the same thing. The combo (forget which one exactly) with 2 pounds of shrimp in garlic butter sauce, a side of calamari (one of the best I've had), chicken wings, sweet potato fries, and two sides of white rice. This was my first experience with the whole cajun seafood scene. I have to say i was disappointed. You think that a bag full of flavoring and seasons is going to be good. But everything just felt under seasoned. After i peeled the shrimp I drenched it in lime and the juice that sits at the bottom of the bag. It improves the flavor but it's nothing special. Been missing the garden grove location of this establishment but thank god this one is finally open. Glad that I didn't have to wait too long to have my Claws cravings satisfied since the old location has been closed down. The food, as usual, was awesome. We got some Cajun fries, Cajun rice, and shrimps and clams. The fire in the hole cannonball sauce is no joke. It tasted amazing and has a great level of spice. The first few bites are fine but after that it starts to get real hot. The Cajun fries are always a must. Nice to have a fried and crispy appetizer in between. As per the old location the service was friendly and prompt. We were greeted as soon as we entered and seated immediately. Been coming here for a long time. Lately I notice the workers just don't care they ignore you when asking for a refill and stuff but this time I went it was horrible they didn't bring our right order out, we were a party of 11. We got our drinks and food and never got a refill after we ask the worker for refill he repeats the drinks to us and never cam back just was dancing walking around. I called to speak to manager was informed they'll call me back they didn't so I called back and they said no manager is there only certain days which explains how the workers act. I than call the day they informed me I spoke to a manager and she has the nerve to argue on everything I informed her about said workers probably busy doing something else I say no they just were walking around even after asking us what drinks we have. She than says not her workers I say please look at your camera she says we actually had a manager in that day. Which I was confused to how a manager lets there workers just wonder of and not give customer service. I explain I didn't see one she says well there was one. I than state to her why do you guys only have one worker mobbing and throwing trash away the dude being the only opposite race they have there. She ignored me and said she will speak to the other manager of what to do and contact me back. Why will a manager contact a manager on how to handle there job ?? Well she never called back. All my son wanted for his 7th birthday dinner was CRAB! I did not want to deal with boiling crabs long wait time so I decided to try Claws! I'm am so glad that I did! Their staff was SUPERIOR! Ordered 3lbs of the crawfish - cannon ball, spicey. Now living in the South for awhile my expectations are really high. The sauce came out like a paste and I didn't even get a kick of spiceyness. I've been to a number of Cajun restaurants for crawfish/shrimp and this one is my favorite. We usually get shrimp (more meat for the work vs crawfish), peel on, cannonball, and medium spice. I feel that it is definitely the sauce that sets each of these restaurants apart. Here their sauce has a good depth of flavor and not too oily or salty like some other places. We also enjoy their sausages, which I believe they recently changed but in my opinion it was for the better. Their wings and fries are pretty good as well. The one thing that I used to like at all these restaurants is the corn but now it has kinda turned into a soggy shag carpet texture that is just doused in sauce. I have been coming to this place since the day it first opened. I have seen a high over turned of employees but overall they are pretty good except yesterday. I placed an order over the phone and after giving her all my info she continued to ask me questions so I told her I was in a hurry if I could put my order in. She said ok until I got there. There were two girls at the counter, one was on the phone taking order and the other one gave me my food. After asking me if I want salt and lemons, I said yes and she said she has to go into the kitchen to get me the lemons, I said it's ok cause I am in a hurry. Now I have her the money and she can't give me the change, she apologize cause I have to wait for the other girl( who was on the phone) to do the cash. After she went into the kitchen and came out with the lemon the other girl was still on the phone, now she is reciting the order back to the person on the other side. I mentioned to the girl I was talking to saying that this is a terrible system. After the girl got of the phone she made change for me. Here is my problem, first she knew on the phone I was in a hurry. When I got there, she knew I was in a hurry yet she still made me wait. When I mentioned to her that they have a terrible system, she gave me the face like I was complaining about her and even if I was she should have apologized to me like the other girl did. Instead she gave me attitude when she gave me my change back. Also. How hard is it to recite someone's order and take care of my bill in the same time. I have done this job when I was 16 and it was a piece of cake doing those two things in the same time. I told the girl I would never come back to the place again. After I walked out of the place I so regretted for paying for my order. I should have just left when they made me wait to pay when they knew I was in a hurry. F**** terrible service. read more

I loved this restaurant before I went meatless and I still love it now! I typically order the garlic butter medium bag but instead of getting shrimp I request 4 potatoes and 3 corn. The food is super filling and all of the flavor is still there. We used to love the carne asada fries but now we order it and ask for the meat on the side because the hubby is going to eat it regardless . I love how they don't hold back on their garlic. I've been to other restaurants similar to claws but none of them have the as much flavor. Even on the asada fries (sans carne) the Pico De gallo is fresh and I could eat a gallon of it. The staff are super attentive and accommodating! There's never any waving down or waiting for a drink refill. The staff are always polite and nearby. All shrimp with the all 3 sauces & for our apps we got the chicken egg roll type of thing and Cajun fries. I also got a side order of Cajun rice. Everything was soooooo good! And I liked how this place has peeled shrimp! I've been to Claws on a weekend and on a weekday, and I haven't had to wait either times. Yay! The shrimp here is pretty good, but not as good as Boiling Crab or Kickin' Crab. I was sad with the snow crab clusters. Most of the legs were nearly empty shells with tiny bit of meat inside. This place is awesome! The wait time is never excessive and their cannon ball sauce is bomb-tastic! Unlike boiling crab, with their watery ass sauce, Claw's sauce is more thick in texture. I was skeptical of this place because of the bad reviews regarding customer service. I am so happy that I tried it out for myself. I was very pleased. First of all, I went on a Sunday around noon and there wasn't a wait. I had a part of 10 and we were immediately seated. The waitress's and hostess were very sweet and on point. My children do not care for seafood so they ordered the Cajun wings and garlic fries which were delicious. There's no big difference between this, Boiling Crab or Kickin' Crab, accept maybe the service and the sauce. Service is better, the sauce isn't. My boyfriend and I got the 3lbs meal deal with two pounds of shrimp and one of crawfish in the spicy cannonball sauce. For our two appetizers we got two large cajun fries. We also added two potatoes and corn. The shrimp was overcooked and therefore the shells were stuck to the body and hard to peel off. The potatoes were too and they fell apart when I picked them up. The crawfish were small and some had a weird texture. The sauce was the saltiest I've ever had compared to similar places.
