The staff greeted you the second you walked in and checked on your through out the meal which is always appreciated. I had a really enjoyable experience overall. The restaurant has a very casual, laid-back atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. One of my favorite parts was the outdoor patio. It had plenty of shade, which made it comfortable even during the warmer part of the day, and it added to the overall vibe. For the food, the mac and cheese was definitely a highlight. It was creamy, flavorful, and had a nice homemade taste that paired well with everything else on the plate. I also ordered the catfish, which was cooked well and had a nice texture. The only thing that kept it from being perfect was that it was seasoned a little heavier than I personally prefer. There was one particular seasoning that I couldn't quite identify, but it was a bit overpowering at first. Thankfully, adding a squeeze of lemon and using the tartar sauce really balanced the flavors and made it much more enjoyable. The mashed potatoes were good, although they reminded me of upgraded instant mashed potatoes. They were very garlicky, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're a garlic lover. I even wondered if that same bold garlic flavor was part of the seasoning on the catfish since the flavors seemed similar. Overall, I had a good meal and enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, the patio was a great place to sit, and the food was satisfying despite a couple of small flavor preferences. We started off with fried green tomatoes. I love the batter . It was really flavorful. The tomatoes were crisp . I'm not a huge fan but my wife likes them. They were good. We also got chicken wings lemon pepper and spicy. The lemon pepper were not overly Tangy with lemon and had a nice pepper spice on them. The spicy were good as well. The wings were cooked nice and I preferably don't like them fried hard so they were on point. My wife got the Sea bass and garlic rice , cabbage and jambalaya. The sea bass and sauce was tasty. We thought the sauce could have been a little thicker and the garlic rice bolstered the flavor. The Cabbage had good flavor but we thought it was chopped a bit too fine. And the jambalaya had a lot of flavor but we like our jambalaya and dry. I'm not familiar with Saucy jambalaya like that. I got the pork chops. Delicious with one exception. I should have had them cook my medium rare or medium. The gravy was tasty. My greens had great flavor except I thought they could have been chopped down a bit more. And the beans and rice were good as well. Almost forgot about the cornbread muffins. Good to go. That is fine as some in texture but great flavor. We went on the 4th of July so parking was easy for us . I'm in a wheelchair so accessibility was easy as there was not that many patrons. Ordered takeout - fried chicken, collard greens and corn bread. Overall food was ok but was hoping for better for the price (over $20 with tax and tip). 1. Cornbread - looks like a muffin and was ok. I prefer mine to be softer and the "muffin" type made it harder because edge all the way around. Butter was delicious and wish I had more. I have been here several times before but has been a while, ate here a week ago last Sunday. There is plenty of parking, but the lot tends to get packed on a Sunday. I love that there is a huge wall sized menu as you walk in to the left. You order and pay at the register and find an open seat. The staff brings your food to your table. Everyone I have visited the staff is always friendly. I ordered the chicken Cobb salad, I do not like blue cheese and the staff was able to substitute that with Parmesan. Since it was such a nice day, I sat outside in their cute covered patio area . Delicious fresh salad. Big portion size and they definitely didn't skimp on the salad fixings. I was craving ribs for dinner and Georgia's was the first to come to mind. The ribs are nice and tender off the bone with a good splash of barbecue sauce. I also appreciate the cornbread is complimentary as a dine-in guest. My sister ordered their shrimp basket and we upgraded to Cajun fries. My family and I tried Georgia's for a late lunch a week ago. We ordered at the counter and were seated on the shaded patio outside with our small dog. The small plate of cornbread was great - tender and moist and served with I think apple butter. One of our dishes, the sea bass with lemon sauce, came quickly and the seasoning was smooth and creamy while having a a nice acidity to it. That, however, is where the positive ends. The rest of our party had to wait 30 minutes for the other 2/3 of our meals to arrive. During this time, there were other staff who were clearly available (wiping windows, clearing tables,etc.), but no one came to update us on where our food was. We had to get servers' attention, after which we were informed there was a large catering order causing the holdup. Which, fine; but as a guest who's physically seated in your restaurant, why send out only one dish and say the rest was coming in a few minutes? Why, more importantly, after those "few minutes" would you not provide an estimate for the others and say bring out more cornbread? Now, they did offer us some beignets (comped), but there was no reason it should have taken half an hour to send out a tri tip sandwich and blackened chicken pasta. I get the impression Georgia's prioritizes mobile orders, but this experience definitely makes me reconsider coming again in person. read more

Parking is horrible. I had to drive around the entire plaza three times. I was about to give up when someone was leaving and I snagged the spot. After a long walk to the restaurant we were greeted by super friendly employees. You order at the register and find a table. 100% of the tables were filthy and not once during our entire visit did staff clean them. Several customers were complaining about it. This restaurant has excellent fried catfish. So much flavor! I loved the black eyed peas too. Collard greens didn't seem washed enough and were very gritty. I couldn't eat much of it. My wife had the fried chicken but said it was just OK. We also shared some tasty fried green tomatoes and I got a cup of their outstanding jambalaya. Besides the greens I really enjoyed my meal. Been meaning to write a review for Georgia's. I've tried the catfish, collards, and jambalaya rice. The fish was prepared to order and the collards and jambalaya were fresh as well. The tastes wasn't bad. The greens were better than some I've had in soul food restaurants - not bitter. The fish was really good. The rice didn't quite do it for me though. The portion size was great! The place is located in an outdoor strip mall. There are about 15 tables and it can accommodate small groups. Staff were helpful and friendly. Such a disappointment. I wanted some real southern food and decided to go here after seeing the yelp reviews. I had the chicken and waffles, collard greens, fried green tomatoes, and my wife had a blackened chicken pasta. I ordered peach cobbler for dessert. The only thing good was the sweet tea and fried green tomatoes. The chicken batter and fried green tomatoes were fried the same. I'm not a fan of corn meal on my chicken, and it also has no flavor. The collard greens tasted like they just boiled them and doused it with a little vinegar. I grew up in South Georgia and know what Southern food is. This ain't it. I called about 20 minutes in advance and it was waiting for pick-up when I arrived. I had to wait to pick my husband up at LGB and then the drive home. I am guessing between pick up and when we sat down to eat, at least 1.5 hrs had passed. The food held very well. chicken still very crispy. Again, the chicken has a nice little kick to it. She never received all of the condiments asked for. Her catfish came several minutes later. By this time the grits were cold. She asked to have the grits heated. They 're-cooked' her entire order. Again, updating reviews isn't usually my thing. Unless they have a new menu item or I had amazing service I came here around prime dinner time and it wasn't too busy. Ordered our food (you order up front, pay up front and then they bring the food to you) we got the fried pickles, chili mac, beans and rice and their garlic fries which are amazing. Not too overpowering and very crispy. After our food was brought and everything was going smooth, a younger man kept asking if we needed anything and refilling our waters. I've noticed this place for a while now glad I finally got to try it. They have both a brunch and a regular full menu on Saturdays. The menu options are plenty and they have a nice variety of traditional southern favorites. I noticed that there was a special item called the Southern Salmon and the description sounded amazing with the honey glaze and I was sold. It was the right pick. It tasted absolutely delicious and flavorful. The honey glaze was amazing and it was paired with shrimp and potatoes. The salmon was cooked perfectly. I would definitely go back and order that exact item again I hope it stays on the menu. The cornbread was OK. The catfish was pretty good along with the grits. There's indoor and outdoor seating although it's not the biggest place. Still plenty of room. Only unpleasant experience was one of the waitresses was so rude and we were shocked that she was allowed to even act that way. She was not our main waitress thankfully but her behavior was so wild that it definitely affected the experience. We got a crispy spicy chicken sandwich with chilli cheese fries just to try it since we have never been here and OMG it was absolutely delicious from the bun melting in my mouth to the spicy level of it was just perfect ! At best, the chicken is a tier below your go-to chicken chains; however, what I do appreciate is how nice the service is, and how good the other items besides the chicken is.
