Sleazy Used Car Salespeople They had a specific used truck I was looking for on their website, but there were no pictures of the vehicle, just a placeholder saying pictures were coming soon. I contacted the dealership and was told I would work with Stephanie Taura. We arranged a test drive, but I made the same request I had made throughout every aspect of contacting them, send me pictures beforehand to show another interested party. Stephanie confirmed my appointment via text and assured me she would send out pictures before my appointment. The pictures never came and she didn't respond to any of my additional messages asking for the pictures. Fast forward to the day of the test drive, still no pictures. I received a call from the sales manager Joe Demain about 30 minutes before the test drive (after I had already left for the dealership). I mentioned to Joe that I was disappointed that I never received the pictures I had asked for. Joe told me that the pictures were never sent because they were still removing a small vinyl wrap from the hood and the tailgate of the truck. This apparently justified not sending any pictures including the sides and the interior. He talked up the truck and said that it was a great truck outside of the vinyl wrap that they're getting off. I arrived at the dealership for my test drive, and was told that Stephanie couldn't be bothered to show up on time for the test drive. Perla Keane was going to work with me. She took down the same information I had previously given Stephanie regarding my trade-in and then went to go find the truck. Despite having several days advanced notice and calling to confirm my appointment, they still had to find the truck. After waiting 20 minutes in Perla's cube, she came in and told me that they had decided to send the truck to auction instead of selling it. This decision was apparently made while I was sitting in her cube waiting to test drive the truck. They wouldn't even let me see the vehicle since they weren't going to sell it. Apparently the way Clay Cooley Chevrolet does business is they list vehicles on their website as they come in BEFORE THEY DECIDE TO SELL IT OR AUCTION IT. She was more than happy to help get me into another vehicle. They are one of 2 Chevy dealerships within 100 miles of Dallas that had a used Colorado with the baby diesel and they didn't have a new Colorado with a baby diesel for me to look at if I wanted to go for a new one. For an organization that spends all the time and money on ads touting how customer focused they are, this is a poor way to treat potential customers. read more

Don't buy a vehicle here. I went through hell after the sale of my truck, and they drew out the process returning my warranties - after I completed all the paperwork and waited the required amount of time, the finance guy handling it "forgot" to submit my paperwork and told me I had to wait another few months. I had called weekly to make sure it had been submitted and processed, so I was repeatedly lied to. I had purchased a Silverado in 2014, sold it in 2016, and requested to be removed from their calling list because I won't buy from them again. Two years later, they're still harassing me at least once or twice a month. Blocking the numbers doesn't have much effect because it's not the same number every time. I have the same "Do not call/remove me from your list" conversation with them. They promise to remove it, and then they call again the next month. I've never had this issue with a dealership before. Basically, unless you want to be harassed by their sales team for the rest of your life, buy somewhere else. read more

Papers signed and drove off the lot. They called her on Thursday saying they couldn't do the agreement and tried to get her to agree to a higher payment. I called and made an appointment to see the car Saturday morning at 10 they said they would have the car there ready for me to test drive at that time. They then proceeded to give me a huge run around trying to sell me something else for a higher price. Barely a 1-star.... I had to really give this some thought on what I wanted to say about this place and the way they treated my wife and our autistic son. From the get go it was a horrible experience for her and I went back the next day trying to make it better for her and didn't really get anywhere besides BS from the finance guy and the sales manager who tried to make it right with a "maintenance contract" but was still a bunch of BS. The best part for her was a young lady and I don't remember her name, but she was very nice to my wife and our son and helped as much as she could. My wife went in there to simply look around and wasn't ready to buy without me there with her and they screwed her into signing for a bottom dollar piece of junk little car for our daughter and really raked her over the coals on the price and then in the end charged her almost an extra $3000 in charges or fees that didn't need to be there. I wouldnt recommend anyone going to this dealership but if you have to, in the end you had better really pay attention to the fine print and the details... if I had a way to make them take this car back and get my wife back her money back, I would do it in a heartbeat.... Another really bad side of this equation is that I work with one of Clay Cooley's (the owner) nephews and he highly recommended this place and the salesman and it was a horrible experience from the beginning to the end and we will never go back nor will I ever recommend this place and from this point forward, Clay Cooley Dodge has lost all of my company's business as well!! I went back in my records to look and in 2017, we bought 16 Ram trucks, 2016 was 12, 2015 was 18 and I didn't go back any further....enough said but they have lost ALL our business from now on. If I could give Clay Cooley a number below one, I would. I went to the dealership on 635 LBJ near the Galleria Mall / Tollway. The service there was awful. The sales and finance manager are not to be trusted. Especially, Brian and Dustin. I would recommend you check with another dealership before you sign anything. In fact, shop around before making a commitment. Sadly, the sales manager added a price for an app that is provided free of charge by Chevrolet.. Corporate approved a repair on my car but the service department didn't want to fix the part, they argued with corporate to get them to un-approve the work. This is by far the WORST dealership I've ever set foot in. From the moment I walked in I felt like I was a burden to the sales staff and if that wasn't bad enough the fact they kept changing the price of the vehicle I came to purchase made it even worse. After getting disconnected 6 times- from receptionist to their finance department, the finance guy took a PICTURE of the purchase order and emailed it to me. I asked if that was the best that he could do and he sarcastically replied with "well, give me about 10 minutes to hook up a scanner so that I can send it to you".... From the entire car buying process to now trying to get my plates, this has by far been the worst experience in buying a car- and I've purchased 5 cars prior from other dealerships and never had problems or hiccups in the process. I've been calling and leaving voicemails at the dealership with no call backs from anyone. Title messed up my check for the DMV and shorted them 607$ so now I can't get my license plates. Not to mention- I was supposed to pick up my plates on August 2nd because that's 30 days within purchase. I called and talked to Tyler Friday 11/26/2021 in used car sales. They had a Volvo xc90 for 32k I was interested in purchasing for cash. They said during negotiations that they preferred financing and when I told them my wife and I had horrible credit because of bad times during Covid, Derek (sales manager) assured me with 20-25k down they would have no problem financing me. So I agreed and if this did not work out I could still fall back on negotiating a cash deal. I was told several times through text Tyler would have an answer for me that day. After calling late that evening I was told again that Derek would contact me before closing or first thing Monday morning. My wife and I decided on waiting for our car shopping till we heard something from them. We really wanted to buy a car this weekend since we were both off work at the same time (rarely). Monday 11/29/2021 had rolled around and I have not received any calls from either Tyler or Derek about this car or the financing. It is now Thursday 12/02/2021 and I am writing this complaint without ever hearing a word back from them. I have purchased a vehicle from them 4 years ago. This is very sad that they will never receive our business any longer and we also have more family that has bought new cars with them and they will not be going back as well. If I could give it a zero I would. I was lead to believe they had a new blue activ chevy trailblazer on lot that I could buy. What actually happened was I was shown a used black trailblazer with stains on every seat. When we said no he brought around a used red one. 2022 was the year and it had 50,000 miles and was also not in good condition. He then went to "talk to his manager" and told us he could sell us an activ chevy right then and there but it hadn't come in. He wanted to full amount, not the $500 to hold it which was ridiculous. We then asked about other cars on his lot and he went to go information on them. He came back with another offer on a trailblazer that wasn't on the lot. We had driven 45 minutes for this which was disappointing and irritating because it took up the whole day to be lied too. Anyways if you deal with someone at this dealership named Arturo please run for the hills he doesn't have your best interest in mind he just wants you at his desk to try and sell you something he doesn't have. If I could rate zero stars I would!!! I found an online price at Autotrader listing a specific stock and vin number on a trex. I called and spoke with an associate who informed me item was in stock and price was correct. Drove to dealership 45 minutes from my house. I spoke to an associate who I showed the stock number and price to and he stated he would go find the item. He went into the bullpen and came back and stated that the item number that I had requested had been sold in the 45 minutes it took me to drive in. Which is impossible if it truly were available when I called. He stated that they would honor the price on another Trex of the same trim level on the lot. I filled out general info sheet and gave them my license for copying. We looked around and selected 2 to test drive. As we started out of the parking lot the gas gauge dinged and stated 2 miles to empty. We switched to another model get a feel for the drive of the vehicle. When we arrived back at dealership I reiterated that if the price I showed him was correct I would purchase the car. He agreed and said he would come back with official pricing sheet and asked for the keys on my possible trade in. 30 minutes go by and he has given keys to purchasing manager and returns with a pricing sheet that shows the car 15000 more than the online pricing. To which we objected and reiterated and showed the listed online pricing. He returned to bullpen to speak with manager and came back with some excuses that the online price showed discounts of every possible rebate and that it was unreasonable. And he offered to lower the price by 1000 dollars. I told him he would need to be closer to the online price for it to be acceptable. He then went back to manager and came back and offered the car at still 10000 more than online price. I told him that price was still to high and he kept stating that we were being unreasonable and we would have to meet him at at least half way between the offer sheet he fiat gave and the online price. I told him that was still too high and dishonest compared to online price. It took me demanding my property back 3x times for them to bring me back my keys. I took the items I remember giving him and went to our car. As we got into our car we could see the sales person and the management pointing and laughing at us from inside the bullpen! How disrespectful! The following morning I went back to autotrader website and saw the same item number and vin number listed for sale dated that morning at 5000 higher than the price from the day before which couldn't be updated except by the dealership. Furthermore I discovered that I had not been given my license back. I called back and identified myself stating that I thought my license was there and the person answering the phone couldn't figure out who to ask I if they had seen it. So I had to drive back down and same associate still had my drivers license and had the audacity to say "Well at least I kept it for you" when I asked for it back! Then once again he goes into the bull pen and we see the sales managers and sales associates pointing and laughing at us!!!! I would never recommend anyone to do business with this dealership! This is got to be one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had in my life. Although I know by the car is usually a painful process I was forced to purchase my Chevrolet from another dealership much further away from me. Even after dad and only trying to cover this for a basic oil change or one calling to inquire about price scheduling I have been disconnected five times in the last five minutes the young lady answering the phone in the service department originally told me that she had no idea what the price of the culture have to transfer me to the sales so one of the salesman to tell me how much when I choir about why I would transfer to sales this was the service she mumbled something put the phone on mute then quickly transferred me to a number that no one answered. When I called back a second time and was transferred to the service department she must have seen my number on the caller ID because she picked the phone up and then hung up on me. After calling a third time and asking someone to transfer me to the service department once again she answered the phone when I asked if this was the service department instead of telling me that it wasn't and that she would transfer me she immediately told me to hold up and transferred me again to a number but no one answered. When I called back again I asked the gentleman who answered if he knew who was answering the phones in the service department told me he did and asked if there was a problem I told him I have been hung up on him transferred to a non-working number several times and he told me to hold on and transfer me back to the service to work once again the same lady answered the phone and hung up on, this has been a great experience, and I still need an oil change! read more

After our traumatic experience with "FRIENDLY", my partner read reviews on Cooley before arriving so that we knew this time, what to expect. That's where we saw plenty of reviews expressing how good of a salesman Don Johnson is, so we walked in and straight away, asked for him. We were greeted by many salespeople EVEN with Don already having us claimed as customers which in reality IS FRIENDLY. We weren't playing games going into this, we DIDNT want to go home empty handed. We specified what we wanted and needed in our Traverse and BOOM, he did his homework and came back with what is now our new family vehicle. Not only did he find us the perfect vehicle, he gave us a great deal with an amazing trade that "FRIENDLY" said we would not get anywhere. Stay away from this dealership. They will make promises and not keep them. Bought a new vehicle and I we had to keep following up with them to pay off are loan in the trades vehicle. Also was told that the spare key was to be picked up when the plates were in. Went to pick up the plate and guess.... no spare key. They would have to make a key which is a 1-2 hour process. Guess what... they did not have the key and fob in stock. Was told they were going to call me the next day when they came in. Was also told the would fill up the gas tank for my troubles. I called two days later because no one called me. Dropped off the vehicle late in the morning and pick up the next morning so they had all afternoon to make the key and fob. Was told they would call when it was done. No call. Picked up the vehicle the next day. Took over 30 minutes to get the vehicle and the gas was not filled. Did not wait and left. Will never go to them again not recommend them to anyone. Vehicle has 15 Miles on it when we bought it. Would not even give them 1 star if I had the option. Also a women came i while I was picking up my plates. The car she just bought 2 days earlier was smoking. It took forever for her to get assistance from anyone. Worst customer service EVER!!! Purchased a 2017 checy truck, took it to the service department on 9/19/18 because check engine light came on, and turned out that "they found water in my gas tank". Got it fix and couple of months later check engine light turns on AGAIN, they "ran some test" and the code the get back is has to do with what they supposedly fixed. Now they are telling me that my truck does not have warranty any more i have to pay. I have been calling the GSM Ali, but have not heard from him. I've also emailed their complainst secretary Linda and again no response from her and it has been going on 2 WEEKS!! I've spoken to a Tony (customer relations manager) and I've even send him thr invoices that have been provided to me by them with the same error code and now he wont answer my calls!!!! Sat there with my sister for hours by ourselves, while the were "talking to the banks". Finally got a deal, signed it, left with the assurance that all is well. Got a call late Thursday night (2/22/2018) from Scott (my finance guy) telling me that they were going to have to up the payments of my car. What a joke! I (non apologetically) hit the roof. My sister and I walked out the door, went to Vandergriff Toyota, where we were treated like we were VIP, they worked with me and gave me a better deal for a MUCH better car. My 2019 Traverse was hit while parked. I purchased the vehicle from Clay Cooley so I figured I would let Clay Cooley Collision Center do the repairs. My vehicle has been there since 9/27/21 and is still not complete. It is a lease and the original estimate was right at $6k in repairs. Will was the manager I was working with. For several months I was told it was a parts delay issue after originally being told repairs would only take 45-60 days. The repair estimate was completed within 7 days of the vehicle arriving and a claim number was assigned. Will did not do a great job following up with communication. After 5 months of calls and emails with sporadic responses, Cody told me that Will quit on 2/11/22 and had left all his repairs up in the air. He said that noone was even aware my vehicle was still there and had not been worked on. Terrible service. Anyway he told me he could try to get my vehicle repaired ASAP. His asap was projected to be about a week. 5 months of waiting and now it can be done in a week? My car has been taken apart and exposed to the elements for 5 months. That's also 5 car notes with no access to the vehicle. I called and reported the issue to Hector LeBron the general manager for the collision center and requested a callback. I waited 48 hours and he did not call or email. So I called Cody back and he told me the boss got the message because he called and got on to them. Hmmmm, ok so I called again for Mr. LeBron and was told someone was at his desk at the moment so I asked the secretary to write a note saying who it was, my purpose for the call and my availability. Guess what? Mr. LeBron still did not return my call after another 48 hours. But, they did call to ask me to bring back the loaner car I had to throw a fit to get four months into the repair. Bring the loaner but my repair is STILL incomplete. I will be contacting the BBB and writing reviews on every platform available. Get my car repaired with a quality job and contact me to follow up Mr. LeBron. We also need to discuss additional accommodations because pandemic or not, it doesn't take 5 months to repair a vehicle and its not a parts issue because my insurance company requested proof of the dates the parts were ordered. This is a mismanagement and labor issue. They also have technicians and mechanics to do the work, there has been no labor shortage. They just didnt do mine. Cody said that Will didn't make anyone else aware of my vehicle still being there. I'm sure GM Financial will also be thrilled to hear about how you all deal with their investments. I still don't have my vehicle. I also want to note that the female that answers the phones at the collision center knew my car was there and how long it had been there. She was cosigning what Will was saying when I told her that it was taking too long. I spoke to her more than once because he was hardly ever available. Take accountability for bad business practices and rectify this situation fairly! No one has taken care if my issue but they keep calling asking me about buying a new car. I came in last Friday for the first time to service my car. When I arrived there were several cars in line to get service so I waited. After about 10 minutes I had finally made it up close enough to be on the actual pull through part. At this point I was able to see what was taking so long... only one guy was out helping every customer one by one. No other employees were around to where I could even try to ask for help. Even though I was a bit irritated at this point I decided to wait it out. When it was finally my turn the same guy finally came strait to me and immediately apologized for the wait, and introduced him self as Blake. He said he would do his absolute best to improve my experience since it had obviously not started on the right foot. He got all of my information, asked what all I would like to have done and then showed me where I could wait. He updated me though the entire process and came straight to me when it was completed. Before I left he thanked me for being so understanding about the wait, and said that he hoped they had earned my business. I will be returning to Clay Cooley Chevrolet's service department, but will only be working with Blake because it was him that earned my business. read more

I will not go back here again. I signed paperwork with a VIN# that was incorrect on Clay Cooley's end and then when I went back the 2nd night to finalize the deal and pick up the car, it was not available. Returned on the third night, another car was there, but they wanted me to come back the 4th night for the car, but after negotiating, I did go home in the car. On average I spent 3 hours each night trying to get this resolved. I love the car, but felt my time was not a priority and would not subject myself to this run around in the future. read more
