First I will say my sales guy was cool. Everything else was bad. No communication after the sale, mistakes with finance that could have been easily corrected with repeated calls were not. I left voicemails for Wes and never got calls back. I was told they would call the lender to fix their error, and they never did! I had to keep on calling. Two weeks after the sale and this is STILL AN ISSUE, and I still have not received a call from Wes, or his manager Ben. UNREAL!!! Do yourself a favor and keep looking, there are better deals out there, with much better customer service after the sale. Look at the Yelp reviews from ALL his dealerships. You see a pattern? I came in to get a oil change and plug a tire, I got here at 10:30 and my truck is still sitting in the same spot it is now 1:00. I have bought my truck here back in March and had bad service then as well. This place is ran so poorly. The managers don't ever answer or return voicemails. Very dishonest set of car dealers. I received an online quote from their website for a brand new Equinox. The sales agent (Andrew H) told me he will honor the quote and that it would be hassle free. "Just pay Quote+TTL" and close the deal. I had provided all my information including the fact that I am not trading in any vehicle before I received the quote. So I dropped in to close the deal. But the sales agent with whom I was emailing went home. I was sent to another Agent named David P. He started giving me the run around. He said that if I dont trade in, some of the Chevrolet manufacturer rebates wouldnt apply and that I need to pay an additional $2000 to $2500 for the car. This is absolute nonsense and mathematically incorrect. The quote that I had in hand said the car had $1500 in Manufacturer rebates, and As per Chevrolet website these are not contingent on a trade-in. So I wonder how in the world does this dealer say that I need to pay $2000-$2500 more when the rebates in itself was only $1500. Totally dishonest. My time is precious and did not want to play the haggling game. If the dealer cant stand by his written quote, then there is no point is doing business with the,. So I walked out. There wasnt even a Good bye from the dealer. Very discourteous. I raised a complaint with their management about this incident. Like any other new car dealership they will try and swindle you as best they can. I got a good deal on the car I bought and that's why I went there. They advertised a good deal. They advertised a certified pre-owned vehicle for a certain price. I went in knowing there would be extra fees tacked on. However, they tried to throw a $2500 fee for the "certified" part of the vehicle which was shady as hell. I didn't let that fly and they dropped it. Also, I came in with a possible co-signer. It wasn't until we went in to sign the papers that we found out the car was solely on their name. Again, shady as hell. Make sure you ask these crooks what they're doing and question them every step of the way. Don't let them bully you into something you don't want to do. They will certainly try. read more

Ran across an online add for a new Chevy Colorado with an excellent price. I called and spoke to a salesman to ensure the truck was still there and to verify the price. He verified the truck was still there and told me he would verify the price with his manager. Never heard back so I decided to head out in hopes of getting a good deal. Another salesman helped me out and I again inquired about the price saying I didn't want to waste my time or his and he said he'd check it out. We took a quick test drive and then went inside to work up the deal. After 10 minutes he came back with the typical 4 quadrant sales sheet with a crazy monthly payment of $1000+ per month for 48 months. Note, this is a $20k truck. Told him that was plain crazy and that we needed to work on the price before even discussing payments. Off he goes again and comes back after another 10 minutes with a price $11k higher than the ad. I again showed him the ad on their web site and he said it "might" be a mistake. I told him it either was a mistake or it wasn't and that I was not going to pay $10k more than the ad price. I asked to talk to the sales manager who kept me waiting for another 10 minutes. He eventually came out and said the ad had a mistake but as indicated on the web site they are not responsible for errors. GEEZZZZZ... I get it, mistakes happen! However, just tell the customer up front. Instead they let me come in, test drive the vehicle, waste an hour of my day and then try to close me on a price that is $10k more without telling me that the price was a mistake. All they had to do is acknowledge the mistake on the website, apologize for the inconvenience and tell me they would be happy to help find a truck within my budget. That's it! This was clearly a bait and switch situation. I asked multiple times for confirmation on the price and only when I forced the issue did they address the "mistake". What I find inconceivable is that they thought I would pay $10k more that what is advertised. Maybe this works on some people.... This is no way to run a business Clay Cooley. I came in, sat for nearly thirty minutes in my car and NO ONE spoke to me. And when I tried to speak to anyone on the service team, they avoided eye contact and speed walked away despite no other cars being in there. Waste of time coming here. Hands down one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I found one of their listings online and made an appointment to see this vehicle, with full intentions of purchasing. The asking price online fit exactly was I was looking to spend. Unbeknownst to me ( and presumably 99% of the general public ), nowhere on any of the online listings did it clearly say the price was contingent on financing through them only, even if they insisted that is was blatantly stated. The only indication of financing options online was listed as "coming soon." Even if I were to give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to the online entity's fault for false advertising, they still would not accept my offer for ASKING PRICE. Fully understanding that there are additional costs associated with the asking price, I was fully prepared to walk away with the vehicle at that specific price, no haggle. So, I am supposed to assume that only if I finance through them, then will I receive the opportunity to get a better deal (side note: even with their financing numbers they weren't giving me even a slight discount)? The salesman that helped me was a gentleman to work with but mentioned several times and could be paraphrased as, "it depends on what moods my managers are in" when asking about the listing price of the vehicle. I should've known to walk away then and spare myself the next hour of haggling and discussing possible refinancing options that would have cost me a small fortune in fees, no matter how many reassurances I got that it wouldn't. Bottom line is, very rarely do you get a customer that is ready to pay asking price and then gets his/her business refused because they can't come to a mutual agreement on something even close to what's stated online. Some people are comfortable with their pre-existing financing institutions and just want a new car with no lash back... I strongly urge new car buyers to look elsewhere when shopping for a vehicle. read more

On 11/19/19 I called this dealership and asked if they still had a 2018 impala available that I saw online. My bank had already approved me for an auto loan so I wanted to look at the car,test drive it & if everything was good, I would be ready to purchase immediately! I told Don that I would be there in 30 minutes. 30 mins later I arrived at the car lot & Don immediately sat me down at a table and shoved a piece of paper in my face, something he called a 5 liner, and told me to fill it out. This " 5 liner asked for ALL of my personal information..name, address, social, etc....and I hadn't even seen the car yet!This was the first red flag! I told him that I didn't want to do all of that yet...I needed to see the car FIRST!! So Don said he would pull the car around. 20 minutes later he comes to me and says he can't find the keys and to give him a few more minutes. Mind you I called a half hour ahead of time!! The car should have been pulled around for me and ready to view. Another 10 minutes passes and he comes back and tells me that the car isn't even at the dealership...it's at the place where the cars are detailed. He said I could follow him there and look at the car. By now I'm getting pretty uncomfortable, but I proceeded to follow him there because as I stated, I needed a car badly. So we take a 7 or 8 minute drive to the detail place & guess what?? They don't have the keys there either!! So he called someone at the dealership to locate the keys and bring them to us. In the meantime I look at the car and it's filthy & covered with about a 2 inch thick layer of dust. How Am I supposed to look at and want to buy a filthy car?? He wanted to make the sale so bad that he told me I could buy it, & then they would get it cleaned up, and if there was any issues they would take care of them after! Absolutely NOT!! I told him that I would never ever as a consumer do something like that. I needed to see the car clean to check for any issues with the paint and body ( scratches, dents, etc). They promise me that they will have the car cleaned up and looking gorgeous, and that they would give me a call when it was ready, & I could come back around 5:30 to check it out again. Well 6pm rolls around & I still haven't heard from anyone so I called up there. Mind you, I called 3 times with no answer, and finally on the 4th call after it rang for literally two minutes, the woman that answered the phone informed me that Don was sick and wasn't even there. He didn't even take out the time to call and let me know! So I ask to speak to Dwight. He takes my phone number & tells me that the car STILL isn't there, & he will see where the car is and call me back. 45 minutes later a completely different person calls me back & tells me that the they finally got the car to the dealership. By now it's 8pm!! So I told this person that I definitely was not coming back up there. By now I'm feeling this car lot is super sketchy & doesn't give a damn to be quite frank. I was over it!! DONE! So the next morning 11/20/19 I get a call from the dealership. This time it's John..who says he is the sales manager. I told him about what happened the day before and explained that I didn't even want to deal with them anymore because of what happened. John proceeds to tell me that " that's why he was calling me and they wanted to make it right." He said the car was clean and looking awesome and I could come see it. I was extremely reluctant but I decided that when my fiancé got off work we would go look at it, given the fact that John has said he would get everything right. So around 7pm I call the dealership b/c after all the bs they pulled the day before I just had a feeling something wasn't going to be right..again! Once again I had to call two or three times before the woman at the desk answered the phone. Finally I spoke to someone in sales who said they would let John know I was coming & they would have the car pulled up in front when I got there. Against my fiancées advice, I still wanted to give them a chance, and drove 20 minutes back to the lot! So we get out and start to look at the car. After about 20 minutes NO ONE has even walked outside to greet us or ask us if we needed help. We can look right through the glass & clearly see multiple employees doing NOTHING so I know they in turn could see US!! Any car lot I've ever been to has salesmen come out IMMEDIATELY, at least to check and see if their customers need any help. No one even bothered here....especially John who was supposed to be waiting for me! I go inside the dealership and low and behold the woman behind the desk is on a PERSONAL phone call ( now I know why I have to call multiple times and why the phone has to ring 10 times before she answers). I told her to let John know that I would be standing outside, looking over the impala. People...I CAN NOT MAKE THIS UP....20 minutes later STILL NO JOHN!! At this point my fiancé and I were DONE!!! Before trying to take car in for the THIRD time for same issue, I asked if they could loan my wife an SUV since we have three children in car seats. You would have thought I'd them to provide a private car service. I brought my brand new (3 months old) suburban to them to get a warrantied part fixed. I bought it to them twice and once for a whole day after the part came in (ended up being the wrong part they ordered), it never got fixed, and ended with them never returning my numerous emails/voicemails. Eek! Like someone mentioned in their review, terrible lack of respect for people's time. I already wasted an hour with the service department and I don't want to spend more time on giving the more detailed review about my visit. But, still trying to give the review with more context. I am not in a mood beautify my sentences or follow the grammar. So here you go... I got a call from clay cooley for a service recall, booked an appointment at 2pm, got permission from MY WORK, made it to claycooley service dept. before 2pm, no one seem to care why I was there, I was letting someone who works there know that I was there for an appointment, he asks for email, I show him the email, he says the person who sent the email to me QUIT THE JOB 3 DAYS BEFORE he sent me an email (haha), I call the number in my email, been told to wait for someone, that someone shows up, says there are 2 service recalls, he can do one of the services ONLY EARLY IN THE MORNING, other service will take time and I have to leave my car and wait for few days, those days depends on the availability I may or may not get replacement car until mine gets ready. On top of all these, this person shows me what the service recalls are, asks me whether I have 3-6 year old, I say no. he says then THE SERVICE IS NOT IMPORTANT NOW and says other service he can only work on earlier in the morning. I mention I had an appointment for this, he says that appointment is only to drop off the car, also says just because I have an appointment he can't come and look at my car and in reality that won't happen and stuff, then I started wondering why they made me to get an appointment at the first place. Realizing nothing can be done today (or in the future) for my car, I was thinking of showing my frustration but didn't want to be mean to anyone and chose to leave the place with out having my car looked at and losing an hour of my work. Still furious about the visit and wanted to do something and realizing that I can't do sh**t about this situation and I have to suck it up like rest of the people in the world for lot's of issues in the world. We went into clay cooley looking to buy a 2014 chevy silverado. We told them what we could afford and he price range we wanted. At first the sales manager was really nice, but after turning down trucks and prices they got frustrated and the manager came out and tried to sell us some used trucks dating back to 2009. After about 3 hours there he told us that we couldn't get the truck we wanted and that trying to get that truck would be like trying to get a Ferrari on our budget!!!!!! Today (sat) we came to FRIENDLY Chevrolet and the people here are amazing. We worked out a deal in less than an hour on a much better truck and it was thousands of dollars cheaper than at Clay Cooley. They talked us through all of the rebates that we were eligible for and they even gave us the bed liner and side-steps for free. They also provided us with free lunch while we waited. read more

I had a good experience. I got the car and color I wanted. I have to say there are bad salesman who don't listen to what you want but there are ones who care and want to make a customer for life. There for I had Doug help me. Because I do work for a car collection agency I am knowledgable in dealership tricks. I had gotten a car previous to my current job with clay Cooley and they had me upside down and paying 3x as much for a piece of junk. But Doug was able to take it as a trade in and get me into a brand new car. I told him my budget and he was able to work with that and got me the best interest rate to keep my payments the same. I do have to say we as people need to educate our selves in car loans and the buying process can seem to be a scam if you don't know what you are doing. Clay Cooley makes their money by scamming minorities into buying their cars at a high interest rate and then taking advantage of people on trade ins. They called me out of the blue to make a full cash offer on my 2008 Porsche Cayman S and then changed their tune into trying to sell me a car when I arrived. They offered me $10k under what my car was worth after telling me they were buying it for my asking price over the phone. I got out of there as quickly as possible. Their show room is disgusting with no furniture, pictures, water, coffee just a bunch of obese guys in very cheap suits trying to scam people. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau. They had a car I was interested in listed on multiple online sites. I called them to confirm that the car was still available and they told me it was. When I arrived a couple hours later they told me they just got the car in, so it was being inspected and was not available to be viewed. I told them I could come back when ever it was available. They later changed their story and said the car was moved to one of there other dealerships and sold a few days ago. They did try to sell me a car that was older had more miles and was $4000 more than the car advertised. Classic bait and switch. Buyer beware. read more

During the paperwork to purchase a vehicle, the price of the car, before TTL and everything, jumped from $16,000 to nearly $20,000. The fees were $2,500 because the car was certified and a $1,340 addendum for features such as nitrogen in the tires and paint protectant. These were not options and they were not included in the advertised price. I was told the fees were not negotiable. The GM of sales admitted there is a standard addendum from $1295-$1995 added to their vehicles. This is not included in the advertised prices. I assume my fees were much higher because this was a "flash Internet price" as they called it. Do not be fooled by their Internet prices. No other dealership I visited had these ridiculous added charges. After I sent emails to management, they attempted to solve this situation by offering to sell me any car at advertised price (every other deallership did this from the beginning), but said the vehicle I originally wanted had sold. I sent the info on the vehicle I wanted and the GM of sales(top person listed on their website) said that was fine(11am) and he would be there until 9pm. I told him I would be up there later. At 5pm, after I got a cashiers check and everything together to purchase the vehicle, I messaged him and told him I would be there shortly. He responded to tell me the vehicle I wanted had sold the day before. read more

Everyone is all smiley and friendly. Offer to give me more than $1000 less than I need for it. Sign all the papers take my truck. Haven't seen the check yet and it's been over a week. Was told " just bring in your clear title and we'll cut you a check. " Over a week later -- Where's my check!!!! First time I stopped by to get it. Chris wasn't in and no one else could handle it. 2nd time I stop in Chris is there but basically brushed me off. States he just got the title just now. And he will have the truck check if there are no problems he will "send the paperwork upstairs" wtf....,!!!!! Then they will issue me a check. I was never told this. I was told "bring in your clear title and we will issue you a check". I have sent multiple emails. No response. Does not answer phone. What do I do now???! They have my truck.
