I don't understand all these rave reviews... We got an estimate for insulating the entire second floor ceiling plus some exterior walls, patching/painting the holes they'd have to drill, and dryer vent cleaning. The guys who showed up were prompt and nice enough, but they had no work order, no idea what they were supposed to be doing. I explained as best I could and checked in throughout the day, but came home to find almost nothing done. I managed to get a sizeable portion of our deposit back, but we're still out $1600 (something about a "minimum charge"? IDK. The story kept changing). All that money got us was 76 sq. ft. of insulation and a clean dryer vent. Oh, and unrepaired holes in the ceiling. Definitely not worth it. read more

Not careful. Very disappointed after Ofer's quick response. I was hoping a good service based on yelp review. I do not recommend this company based on paint damages they made on every single vent in my property. Even after we told them to cut vents with the razor since it's damaged my contractor will have to repair it, they didn't. Also Hector and another guy came for service lied to Ofer that we said it is ok to leave paint chips around to Ofer. Unless you are ok to have paints off around every dingle vent after their service, don't use them. My hubby said it is pretty common mistakes by air duct cleaning. Also Ofer to paint and to correct it..i revised my review to three stars. But I was upset in the beginning with result...but they offered to correct it. I will attached photos. read more

So I get a call at 10p from my tenants in Chicago telling me that the living room radiator is dripping water at a constant rate. I ask them to assess the situation and see if this is something that can be contacted until the morning. They asses the situation, send me a video of the issue and I determine that this is a leak that is emergency status. Come in Yelp. I make the request for emergency service to HVAC companies in the area. I think I reached out to like 5 or so companies and only Clean Air Doctors responded and had the ability to chat with me, within 10 minutes of my request, and get someone to come out for a service call. I knew I was going to pay hefty for this call but I had no choice. The owner, Ofer, was more than helpful and with me throughout the process. His technician, Demitris we attentive and responsive. I needed to redo my attic insulation since it was extremely old. Working with Ofer was great, he came to my house, inspected the attic, and all communication via text or Yelp was quick. After scheduling an appointment, COVID-19 lockdown happen and we had to reschedule so that our family wouldn't be too burdened by the install. They were really flexible to accommodate. Install day arrived and the crew arrived on a Friday. They removed all the insulation on day 1. Ofer told me they were supposed to come back Saturday but because a supply house was closed they couldn't come back until Monday, that's fine life happens. However, after day one, one of the techs was a chain smoker and leftover a half dozen cigarette butts on my driveway and property. After telling Ofer this, he came back to pick up his mess. The next workday (Monday) the crew finished. They told me I would get text messaged pictures and they would be back tomorrow to pick up trash that couldn't fit in their van. I never received pictures and the trash wasn't picked up until Thursday afternoon until I reminded Ofer about it. Overall good interactions with Ofer but his crew can use some more professionalism. read more

We had a pretty large job with Clean Air Doctors and overall I was really happy with the work they provided. First we insulated our crawl space. It was difficult to find an access point but they worked through it and got it done quickly. Then we had a total HVAC cleaning. Mark was awesome and I'd hire them again if we could have Mark every time. He was knowledgeable and a hard worker! My only complaint is a few of the workers left some trash behind, including a bag of dirt they retrieved from my vents. No big deal if they forgot it but it was thrown off into the corner of my porch. I felt like for paying so much they could've taken it with or just thrown away in my trash. I do not recommend this company. The 2 person insulator team arrived 1 hour and 40 minutes late, with no notification and no apology. I called 3 times to get an updated arrival time - I was lied to all 3 times. There are dozens of companies that provide this service. This place has lots of 5-star reviews, so I was shocked at the customer service & lack of professionalism I experienced. Ofer (the owner) is quick to respond & will negotiate price. Everything went well until I noticed a screw was forgotten & there was dust on the floor. I took out a broom & the tech offered help, but it was obvious that cleaning up after themselves was not standard procedure - he was asking ME to tell him where to sweep! After they left, I noticed that SEVERAL vent covers were damaged, there were marks left on the walls & most importantly, when I installed a new air filter, within 15 & 30 min (see pics) there were HUGE PIECES OF DUST in the new filters. So now I'm wondering what I paid $250 for. I called Ofer & he promised a refund because "it's not about the money". During our 2nd call, he refused to issue a full refund; he offered to redo the job & a 50% refund. I declined because his staff left a mess the 1st time around & asked for a different offer. He refused. At this point, we were flat-out arguing. He kept repeating how he has lots of happy customers & even though it's "not about the money," I can't have a full refund because it was a service provided & it was in his opinion a 90/100 job. If he could, I'd gladly have him put back the dust he took out of our vents! I've been a small restaurant owner. If someone complained, a full refund is always an available resolution; I'm not going to ask for half-eaten food back. Give the refund & move on. Since calling him was not productive, my parents went to the business to come to a resolution. They don't speak English well & Ofer bullied them into redoing the job without the 50% refund he offered me. His claim was that if we were still unhappy with the job after the 2nd time, he'd give us a full refund. Our ducts were a mess. We finished some remodeling, and needed help. Called up Clean Air Doctors and scheduled an appointment. It was quick and easy. They technicians arrived on time, the day of service. They finished their work, and were off. I can see the difference, and can feel it difference in the air flow. The floor guys left tons of debris in the floor vents, which Air Doctors cleaned out. The cleaned out my dryer vents and the furnace (or whatever it's called in the basement. :-) I would definitely use them again, and again, and again. read more

The contractors did an great job covering everywhere with plastic wrap. They went up the attic and also fixed an opening of a fan. The work took 4 hours. They nicely cleaned up afterwards. read more

I usually do not like writing bad reviews but CleanAirDoctors told me they would be at my home between 9AM-11AM, so I took time off from work. NO SHOW, NO CALL. I called them 4X between 11:15 and 1:30PM. I got someone on the phone who acknowledged my appt and said they would call back. It's 2PM now and my day is wasted. Based on the positive Yelp reviews, I reached out to Clean Air Doctors for a few reasons: - To clean out the dryer vent - To perform general maintenance check up on my HVAC system in my town home I received an immediate response and quote and within a few days, they were at my home. I was not home at the time of the visit, so the rep called me throughout the visit to explain each step and the condition of each element. He needed to perform a few repairs to the AC unit and texted me quotes to approve before beginning work. He also said that there was a leak in the Water Heater and that he recommended I replace the unit, outlining why. Within 48 hours, I had a new water heater installed. Demetris from sent to me from clean air doctors. He evaluated my HVAC issue and determined it was my thermostat. After replacing with a new one, it still had the same issue. I called upset, and didn't feel he was correct in his original diagnosis and made it clear I did not want to work with him again. Leo, who was returning calls, still forwarded my info and Demetris insisted that it was the thermostat, and the tests he did were conclusive that was the problem. Demetris wanted to come out again and prove his original diagnosis was correct, but I was not going to settle for that. I was frustrated with the level of diagnosis and felt he was incorrect - and requested a refund, which Leo completed promptly. Demetris was nice however it was frustrating to have to argue with someone regarding something I felt was not the issue (without being a tech or handyman myself) and knew this diagnosis was incorrect from the beginning. This was cheap for them to diagnose (meaning they are inexpensive), but in the end they were incorrect as I had another technician come out and quickly diagnose it was in fact the flame sensor that simply need cleaning. Once cleaned the furnace returned to normal function again. I ended up wasting time and energy, especially with having to argue with a tech regarding that a thermostat was causing my issue. I had to get a new thermostat to prove he was wrong, and another tech to correctly diagnose the issue and resolve it. I would not recommend clean air doctors at this point. The only positive I will say is they were prompt in giving me a refund even though I had to talk to the tech again when I really didn't want to. read more

I would highly recommend Ofer and his team. I hired him to clean a large, multi-blower unit in a downtown high-rise. His team was quite familiar with how these setups work and, unlike other quotes that I got, was able to do a thorough cleaning of the vents in both directions, despite the fact that some of them are hooked up to the central building system. He was quick to reply to all questions, came out for an immediate quote, and was able to schedule the cleaning within a week. The whole process only took a couple of hours. The cleaning is a bit noisy and can leave a little bit of dust in the air afterwards (though the crew cleaned up the work areas quite well!) so I would plan not to have the kids around and be ready to do a quick clean of the counters, etc. afterwards. read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT DAMAGE TO YOUR HOME AND INCOMPLETE WORK! My experience with this company is very similar to all the other bad reviews they have. First they were quick to respond and set up an estimate appointment which I was happy about but when the day came and my appointment was set between the hours of 12-4pm the tech never showed after calling the company number and no answer I finally emailed Ofer the owner via yelp and he stated his tech had gotten sick and they would have to reschedule. I let him know I took off work and it was a job that I needed done quickly, so he sent out a tech Mark that showed up at 8pm when my appointment time was originally earlier but he seemed very knowledgeable about what he was doing. Even though it was a bad first impression they quoted the job and we set something up to have them come out, two techs show up and as they are attempting to back up in there van they end up going onto my grass and getting stuck, they spent about 45 min attempting to get the van out of the grass creating a mess of mud and destroying that part of the lawn. At this point I was ready to tell them to just get the Equipment and leave, when Ofer the owner shows up and reviews the job with me I take him to my attic again making sure that I tell them I didn't want any mess coming into the home and he assured me they would leave no mess behind and everything would be taken care of in that same day although he stated that the job would most likely take two days. I was happy to hear it would be less time since I was getting my home ready for thanksgiving, and we were in the finishing phase of remodeling so my cleaning crew was scheduled to come out once they were done with there part of the work. 2 hours later I receive a call from one of the techs telling me they were ready to start filling the attic with new insulation and that they were done sanitizing and sealing. I also realized the mess they had created along the walls and doorway to the upstairs since the attic acces was in that location I explained to the tech that they had made a mess and he assured me it would be cleaned up and not to worry. Well to my surprise I arrive home and see not one but all the garbage bags that they took out of old insulation in my back porch, every single room in the house had dust and attic insulation on the floor the bedroom walls and door trims had been damaged as well as a window sill they used to pull in the hose, even the floor baseboard trim were damaged I was furious to finally find out that my attic wasn't even completly filled and only parts were actually filled so the job was left incomplete after immediately calling the owner to let him know he ttold me they coul not Come to either finish or pick up there garbage for a week! I demanded he take care of it immediately and they took 3 days to add more insulation and pick up the garbage, to which the tech stated they didn't order an insulation door so that would be done the next week. As for the damages caused to waLls, doors and trims they stated he could send one of his carpenters well after the horrible experience I denied any other employee come into my home and told him I would have my own painter do the job and forward the expense he agreed but apparently he thinks painters are cheap well they aren't especially when your having to repaint multiple walls and doors. He has since denied covering the expense and to completing the job, he has threatened to sue me and a send me to coLlections because of no payment well i will not pay for incomplete services nor will I pay for someone else's damages as well. Just want to let the General Public have a resource and inform them of what is taking place and never reported . I am not at the liberty to jump into my attic to evaluate what was discovered after this company did and didn't perform work as agreed. I hired the Clean Air Doctors, 5318 N. Clark St. #2F Chicago , IL. owner Ofer on November 26, 2019 . Ofer initiated discussions thru Imessaging to discuss the details of the attic work that was to be completed as per his recommendations and completion of job . 1) Block vents at soffits with Batt insulation and a failure to deliver per agreement , 2) install rafter baffles and a failure to deliver work per agreement , 3) wiring mesh was to be secured with metal strips and failure to deliver this work per agreement 4) spray foam the wire meshing and a failure to deliver this work per our agreement thru the iMessages and I have not signed any contract until I have viewed it with these components of this work included on the contract. As a note Ofer was not on the job long and had to leave with two employees doing some work in attic and after couple hours they came down and said they were done. I was to pay them in cash the total sum amount which was paid in full. I requested a Paid receipt in full and was told it would be sent to me later . Only because the wrong attic entry board was not installed at which I messaged Ofer asking to have someone to correct this. His reply was another day to stop back out here to correct. I had found a ladder from someone to gain entry into the attic and all the listed items above were discovered not done at that time .This is how I discovered the work was not performed and notified Ofer immediately. The final reply that I received from him thru imessage was he would call me 11/30/19 which he never did. I have made many attempts of iMessages , Business website customer inquiry form , Phone call with no avail. The same work will have to be repeated needlessly by another insulation Company due to the cause and failure to install the rafter air baffles which should have were not . As an observation it seemed as thought once he got the cash passed to his employee that was the last I would see or hear from him . Many messages , phone call with no avail .
