I got a very berry icy bowl from here. It had very little flavor. The strawberries almost seem like they were freeze dried. There were no blueberries on my bell, which I realized I tried left. There were almond butter, squeezed over the top, but it was not what I was at all expecting tropical smoothie is a chain and yes, they're icy. Bowls are OK but drive on down the street to Playa bowls if you're looking for a really good Aussie bowl, they are absolutely the best. I will not be back and clean juice. read more

So random praise but this was one of like two juice places open at a time I think is appropriate to have juice. The staff explained the menu and I was able to quickly order my juice and be on my way. They have some great music playing. I love the big picture windows. Now the juice. It was good. I made my own blend of their "Red". I wanted to add spirulina. Trying to start off my birthday right. My juicer broke a few years ago and I have missed juicing. Also, their juice was really good, no grainy finish. The next juicer I get needs to be professional quality. This was a lunch stop for us after morning soccer camp. Our whole party enjoyed either a smoothie or açaí bowl. Unbelievably bad. Got an avocado toast and they had nobody in there but still chose to give me two butt ends of a tomato and cut the cucumbers so lopsided it was comical. Excellent service and a store with excellent covid precautions. I hadn't been to this location in a while and was pleasantly surprised to see this Clean Juice location had their staff masked up and was asking clients to wear masks inside as well. This is a stark contrast to the Durham Southpoint store which does not do either and something I found appalling. I live between both stores equally but tend to be over near the Southpoint store, but their poor covid precautions mean I'll eagerly go out of my way to the Franklin St. store to support them since they have a culture that cares about their staff and their customers. My to go order (almost always The Recovery one with added blue berries and honey) was ready even before the app said it would be and tasted great. Very easy to pick up and get in and out of the store. Parking on a Saturday afternoon can be a little busy but they have convenient parking up front for running in to get orders. This is the best Clean Juice location in the Chapel Hill/Durham area and I will be going back very soon. read more

Full disclosure: I don't like juice so I come here for the smoothies. I love the philosophy behind the juice though, and everyone who has one loves them! Their smoothies are delicious! They aren't too sweet nor too tart, and you can taste the different fruits in them. I appreciate that they have different choices for different seasons so that there is always something new to try. The menu is extensive, so don't get frustrated if it's your first time there. The Juiceristas are used to this and they're patient and extremely helpful. There are usually samples available if you'd like to try one before buying it. I also like the look of their store - it's clean and simple and exactly what it should look and feel like. They have juice cleanses if you've been wanting to do one. They have Juice til Dinner, and 1-5 day choices. They aren't cheap, but when you think that each will be a meal, then it makes sense. So, if I love it so much why only four stars? They aren't as environmentally friendly as they could be. Their cups aren't recyclable, they use plastic straws, and they could use paper products for a lot of things rather than plastic. Clean Juice, to me, should be clean for the body and for the environment. read more

It is difficult to find on Apple Maps, so I recommend just going to the area near Jersey Mike's and you'll see it to the right. My go-to place after a workout. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice it even smells healthy. The staff are always friendly and accommodating especially when it came to my partner's tree nut allergy. They used a separate blender for people with allergies. They also made sure to find replacements for the allergens. The smoothies and bowls are expensive but they're really good. However, I would say the price is the main drawback for this place and that's why it gets 4 stars from me. Today we got the: Mangoes and cream protein shake: "almond milk was substituted for coconut water bc of tree but allergy. I thought was tasty but the protein powder could've been blended more. I'm a fan of Clean Juice! They have way more than just juice so don't let the name turn you away if you aren't super into cold press juice. Speaking of juice they have quite a few out on the counter that you can sample while you wait or just if you want to try one before committing. I'm a big smoothie gal and they have a ton to choose from. I got Mangos N Cream with hemp protein - it was delicious! Sometimes protein smoothies get too chalky with the protein, not this one, you couldn't even taste it. The smoothie had just the right amount of sweetness but wasn't overly sweet. I love the environment in here! Everyone is so friendly (customers and team members) and seem to be in a good mood. I'll admit I'm not a juicer, but I'm very into their smoothies. Mangos and Cream is my fave, but I've been happy with all that I've tried. To get the fifth star, I'd say their packaging (cups, bowls, straws, etc.) should be biodegradable or recyclable and their smoothies could be 15-20% cheaper. I know lots of great ingredients are going into them, but $10 for a smoothie is a steep price and thus turns my visits here into only occasional treats. read more

Not to mention, the employees there are extremely helpful if you have any questions and seeking for recommendations. So many yummy options at Clean Juice! This is a pretty standard health food/ smoothie and juice bar located on the corner of Eastgate closer to Starbucks. They offer smoothies, bowls, juices (aptly named) and other snacks like toast and oatmeal. Everything is organic, which I love! I ordered The Double One, a sweeter green smoothie with protein, and added cinnamon. It was really good! I could tell the bananas used weren't super ripe like I prefer them because it wasn't super sweet, but I still enjoyed it. Pretty affordable for what you get. At first the menu was pretty overwhelming and I wanted to order almost everything. When I feel overwhelmed like that, I usually ask the employees for recommendations. Both of the ladies working there were extremely friendly and helpful. One in particular, whose name I can't remember, recommended the Beauty Bowl without the cold brew and she was incredibly passionate about it. Very excited about this place after falling in love with a similar style juice place in Cincinnati. Also a big Robeks person.
