I check back about 5 weeks later and was told they hadn't gotten to them because they were backed up. I get a text at almost 7 weeks that they are ready. Pick them up & find the laces dirty, sole yellow & parts of the shoe falling apart/un glued. After a bunch of back-and-forth they agree to repair. They hold the shoes for ANOTHER 3 weeks (I keep calling and texting for update) only for them to tell me they can't repair. More back & forth and them promising to check with another repair shop just to get another message days later saying "it's not worth repairing" At this point it's been 11weeks of back & forth, we pick up the shoes because it's exhausting to keep trying and they couldn't even provide a refund. It's only $40 but the lack of communication and accountability is awful and unprofessional.

Champ Shoe Repair replaced the worn/missing heel tip, glued down some material that had started peeling, and also treated the material because the black dye would transfer onto my skin whenever I wore them. I would literally come home with black marks going up my feet and legs from the straps! The gentleman did good work, and everyone I interacted with was very friendly. I believe this may be a family-owned business, which I always like supporting. There was, however, a bit of a language barrier, and I misunderstood exactly what was included in the price. I thought more of the bottom sole was going to be replaced. When I initially picked them up, I spoke with who I believe was his son, but he wasn't sure exactly what work had been included on my ticket, so I left the shoes there again. When I returned later and spoke with the original gentleman, we were able to clear up the misunderstanding. For me personally, the repair was also a little pricier than I expected--probably more than I originally paid for the shoes! But I really like these heels and wanted to save them, so I went ahead with it. Overall, they did a good job and were very kind. I haven't worn the heels yet to see how well the dye treatment worked, so I'll have to update my review once I do. My experience with a suitcase, however, is what prompted me to write this review. The suitcase was a birthday gift from my wife several years ago, so it, too, has sentimental value to me. When I brought it in for a handle repair, Culver Shoe Repair was completely upfront: this particular type of work isn't done in-house, but is sent to a third party. The repair was completed within the promised timeframe, but unfortunately, the handle broke again only a few days after I picked up the suitcase. Things happen. Repairs fail. What matters to me is what happens next. I contacted Culver Shoe Repair and asked how we should proceed. There was no argument, no attempt to shift responsibility to the outside repair service, and no runaround. I was immediately offered a repair at no charge, along with an apology. No further questions asked. I picked up the suitcase today, and everything appears to be exactly as it should be. That, to me, is excellent customer service. It is easy for a business to look good when everything goes according to plan. You learn much more about a business when something doesn't--and Culver Shoe Repair handled this exactly the way I would hope a reputable business would. For shoe repair, I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere. And after this experience, I also feel confident using them for any of the other services they offer. Excellent workmanship, honest communication, and--perhaps most importantly--a business that stands behind the work entrusted to them. I've used like 10 other dry cleaners and no one is as good as Power Cleaners! Also, Power Cleaners offers a pickup and delivery service which we use all the time. They deliver/pickup from a large geographic area so even if you live farther away like in Newport Beach, you can still get their service super easy without leaving your home.
