They assured me it would be reliable as that was the only reason I was getting a car but after only having the vehicle for 4 days, the check engine light came on. When I called they said they would pay half which actually ended up being me paying 100 dollars more than half which was ok at the time because I was grateful they helped in a way. Still very frustrating. Now it has been a few more weeks, haven't had the car for a month, haven't even used the full tank of gas, and I had to take it back to the shop again with an extra 300 dollars cost. In total I've spent close to 1 thousand dollars on fixing this car out of pocket on what was supposed to be a reliable car. Didn't bother contacting them again because the last time I did, they were stressing I brought the car "as is" and this is very upsetting for me, especially since I work 12 hour night shifts and had to stay up bringing the car in the shop twice when I should've been sleeping for work. I'm writing this because I don't want someone to make the same mistake I did and at least bring someone of your own to look at the car you want before purchase.

My car has had a transmission overhaul, shifter fixed, lights replaced and the engine seals now need to be replaced because they're failing. I've spent thousands on repairs and more still on the way on a loan that is now underwater. Do NOT buy from these guys! *update* looks like the previous owner sold the car back to carmax after only a few months. I now have to pay $5800 to get a new engine. It's not the seals. The engine is broken and the warranty won't cover it because it's not broken enough Do NOT buy an extended warranty with these guys. You'll get screwed and not in a nice way. I'm having a lawyer investigate this. What carmax did is pretty shady so I might be able to get them reported to the bbb and fined.

This updated review is for the service department…read more After owning the vehicle for two months, I was contacted by a woman called Charisma at the dealership offering a free oil change for my vehicle. After a few text messages back and fourth trying to establish a good time for when to bring my vehicle in, I was completed ghosted. No replies to text. Seems like this person fell off the edge of the earth never to be heard from again. I also contacted my salesperson Brody and he never got back to me. In addition I asked Brody prior to this woman contacting me if I had any complimentary oil changes after purchasing the vehicle and his answer was no so I was surprised that this woman would even contact me at all in the first place. I firmly believe that accountability and follow up should be strictly enforced especially when someone makes contacts you and initiates a false offer and then completely cuts off communications. Pretty disappointed. Who knows. Maybe she was an intern or got fired but nonetheless, there should be some accountability especially if you want returning customers in the future. The vehicle runs nice though. No issues. If you're here to buy the vehicle, only expect that. Have it serviced at another place where you feel that your time is respected without being led-on for false expectations. He is also funny and cool; as one of the other reviewers said, you'd like to have a beer with him. You can work with Mitch in two ways. One: he might happen to have the perfect car for you sitting in his lot already. If so, lucky you! He only sells cars that are in great shape, often managing to find what I call "car unicorns" (one-owner cars with great maintenance records from states without road salt or flooding). Two: if Mitch doesn't happen to have the right car for you, you can use him as a sort of "car sommelier." He'll help you figure out what kinds of cars you might like (which was super helpful for me), steer you away from bad years or bad models, and then, when you know what you want, he'll source you a great car. When the car arrives in PDX, he'll take it to a reputable mechanic to make sure it's in tip top shape. We were definitely going to use Mitch to source a car for us, but, alas, we unexpectedly found our own extremely rare "unicorn" at a different dealer.
