I had a microphone go out in one of my hearing aids. The cost for repair was $500.00. I was told by…read morethe audiologist that they did not have the software to adjust the settings and it would be reset to the original settings at the repair facility. If my hearing levels changed they would not be able to adjust the hearing aids. Several days later I received a call stating that UPS had lost the hearing aid during shipment. They would put in a claim and they could replace the lost hearing aid with a different brand, therefore I would have two technologies for each hearing aids. I informed Wright Hearing Center that I had found a hearing aid center that could order a replacement of the same brand that was lost. All of a sudden they CAN replace with the same brand! Fine, put in a claim at UPS, order similar brand for replacement and cancel the $500.00 charge for the repair because obviously Wright Hear Center was only going to be out the administrative time for the original shipping and then submitting a claim. Well they state that they will not be crediting the $500.00 because all of the time that would be spent and I was getting a new hearing aid. The $500.00 was for a repair that never happened!! They're going to be receiving settlement from UPS for replacement costs. I phoned the credit card company and filed for a disputed charge and cancel the $500.00. I reached out to the second hearing aid center and had them order the replacement hearing aid for an out of pocket cost of $1360.00. I know it seems foolish, but I rather pay the added cost myself then ever set foot in Wright Hearing Center again. Too bad they have no integrity. If I could rate this business lower than one star I would be happy to!

The representative who answered the phone did not listen to me at all. She transferred me to another young woman who transferred me to an audiologist. I explained that I was calling to get the price of the hearing aids advertised and would they be able to use my doctors audiology report to program them. He told me that he could not sell me hearing aids because it was illegal. I explained that I had purchased hearing aids from another company previously and was not required to visit another physician. They simply used my doctors report, programmed the aids and shipped them to me. I was interested in the Ines they advertised but clearly he didn't even know what was on his website. After growing frustrated I thanked him and hung up. I have since spoken to several other companies that will gladly sell me the appropriate aids and they assured me there were no laws being broken.

One night he went to bed hearing and the next morning he woke up deaf in one ear and 3% left in the other ear! He was frightened and couldn't read so he had to yell, I suppose thinking we couldn't hear him so we had to yell back so he could hear us because he couldn't read. He didn't know some language and all other avenues had played out to where there was no hope for him to ever hear again. My husband is a preacher, and this left him to where he couldn't hear prayer request or talk to the people he had to Council... we were at our wits end without nerves shot and nowhere to turn but to God! After much prayer my husband and I received a mailer from my mom about the balance & Hearing Center in Gadsden. We went with faith that God was going to answer our prayers through Mitch and Holly. After receiving some very expensive hearing aids to where we had to finance them, Mitch and Holly were so moved by our story they both were in tears as we were. Exactly two weeks later after being fitted for my husband's hearing aids they were tested. When we walked in that day he could not hear but 3%, and when we walked out that day he received 92% of his hearing back! The office staff was very friendly and helpful and got me in pretty quick. The audiologist gave clear instructions for her testing and assured me that I'd get answers to my questions. After testing I saw Dr. Clark and his assistant (NP, I think?) in a small but efficient exam room. The assistant was as quiet as a church mouse but present. They LISTENED to me explain all my symptoms in detail. I didn't feel rushed or unheard. Then he explained my results to me, gave reasonable treatment options and a plan moving forward. He has an emergency line so I left a message. When he called back he was really mean and put off and told me in a very ugly way that there was nothing he could do to help me. That he was closed and I would have to call to make an appointment during the week. That he's in Atlanta and there's nothing he could do for me. He had a really bad attitude and was just a jerk. I didn't know what I was missing. I had researched AUDIBEL on line and the reviews were either one or five stars. The ones had to do more with the person's experience with the representative. The fives were about the product, mostly. I have fives for both! The office is professional and comfortable. My wife's happy, I'm happy, and no one notices I have hearing aids unless I tell them. I go at regular intervals for hearing aid check up , to update the program, keeps them tuned correct, cleaning and still has a good crisp sound. This is inside a big medical center so you need to allow for time to park and find your way inside. At level 2 is where you'll need to be from the parking deck to have a walkway either into the hospital or to the medical center for doctor appointments. The staff were all friendly. Dr. Roth (newly married, previously Dr. Hatchett) was very kind and informed me that my insurance doesn't pay for hearing aids. Taking this into account, she let me know the options I had moving forward. We were able to order a replacement battery for my current (older) hearing aids. She called the manufacturer and ordered this. Once it arrives, she'll be able to replace it in office. She also informed me of another program that may be able to assist me with getting new hearing aids. I really appreciated that information. I recommend this office just based off of my first appointment.

In contrast to those past experiences, I was extremely pleased that Dr. Hankins took his time with me and made certain he answered all my questions.
