I had a mold issue in my apartment. After the apartment managers remediated it they wouldn't provide the reports. I called Clear Environmental to see if I should get private follow-up testing. I called on a Sunday evening around 8:30pm expecting to get a voicemail. Instead, a live person picked up and told me the owner of the company would be getting back to me shortly. Rich the owner called me Monday morning and listened thoroughly to my situation and concerns. Based on what I told him, he said it sounded like the complex had taken the proper steps and it was likely follow-up testing would not reveal much. I appreciated his unwillingness to take my money when it might not be necessary. He also patiently answered all of my follow-up questions about our affected belongings. I called them to do asbestos testing on our garage that had had a fire. They came out a couple days later. The test was available the following day after the testing. Rich responded promptly to my message and came out with Chris to our home in south OC to check our moisture and mold concerns. Although we had re-roofed 2014, we were concerned about some cracks in the stucco outside that resulted in bubbling in a few spots inside the home. I had Clear Environmental Service come out to inspect a our home in Newport Beach last week, and they did a fantastic job. Rich spent a couple hours looking around the property and walking me thru each section of the house as he finished up and moved to the next section. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable, not only identifying all of the issues, but where things could be repaired or where they needed to be replaced outright. He also pointed out were issues didn't necessarily need to be fixed, but would benefit from safety improvements or modernization. I cannot recommend Rich enough. We have a water leak situation that had been festering for two years. We had countless tests and inspections done and no one could identify the source. No slab leak, no infrared camera, no damaged fixtures, nothing that would normally point to what was causing our wood floors to buckle. Rich was clearly vested the first time he came over; the word that I would use to describe him is detective. He had several hypotheses and in the end, he was the only one who could pinpoint the problem. He came over multiple times and did not give up until he figured it out. We had Rich come out after we had a really nasty leak from an upstairs apartment from a busted pipe leaking into our kitchen. Our apartment manager would have just had maintenance patch up the five holes they had to cut to fix & replace the piping. He was very professional & friendly. He helped us talk with management about the situation and how dangerous it would be to just cover up the water damage. He took samples and really put our minds at ease. Even though management was incredibly rude & standoffish, he remained cool and was unwaivering.
