5/5 I've had Andrew come out twice now. The first time was to repair a drain line leak in my living room ceiling, and the second was to rough in a shower drain for an upcoming remodel. Both jobs were done with the skill and attention to detail of a master plumber. Price was competitive with others in the area. It's been over a year since the leak repair and everything has held up perfectly. The shower drain rough-in was centered exactly where it needed to be and completely leak-free. I'm fairly handy myself, and Andrew has always been willing to share helpful pointers along the way, which I really appreciate. Coastline Plumbing has become my go-to plumbers. Whenever Andrew is on the job, I can relax knowing the work is being done correctly and built to last. One thing to expect: Andrew was upfront about this from the beginning, but Coastline typically doesn't patch drywall or plywood after plumbing work, so you may need to hire someone separately for that part. I think that's standard for plumbers specialized in their trade. In my case, I patched them up myself. read more

I've had coastline out a couple times. First they installed a new shower valve. Second was for an earthquake shutoff. I'm happy with their quality of work, did a nice job on both occasions. I messaged them on Yelp yesterday in the mid-afternoon, and they were able to send technicians this morning to fix my toilet, which wouldn't stop running. Service was done on a toilet that was apparently quietly running (no water on floor/behind wall ... discovered by water bill). The cost was high, however, the fellows were very professional, and positive. I ended up getting another "warning" from the water company that the bill was going to be excessively high again. Coastline Plumbing came back, for no charge, and found a gasket issue. They were not going to get anything from the water company, so I do not think they missed something on purpose. After opening up the drywall, I took some pictures and sent it over to Coastline Plumbing. Dan replied with a competitive quote with an availability on the following day. He showed up when he said he would, took a look at the leak in person, and wrote down all the parts that he needed. He told me that he needed to go get the parts and would be back in about an hour. In almost exactly an hour, Dan came back with the parts, repaired the leak, checked and double checked his work, and his final price was exactly what he quoted me the day before from looking at the pictures that I sent. We called Coastline after SoCal Gas informed us that we had a small but significant leak somewhere in our gas dryer connection. The Yelp reviews convinced us to contact Coastline ... and we're delighted we did. Dan managed to fit us in first thing in the morning. He wasn't certain that SoCal's analysis was correct, but he tried out a solution which required him to go find the proper length connector linking to our dryer. Perfect! It appears the leak has been identified and, more to the point, remedied. All at a reasonable price!! I requested a service to detect water leak which was quoted for $265, however, when technician (Andrew) arrived, I was told it's $265 per hour which was the first surprise. Secondly, I needed to know the manifold location to get quotes from different vendor and I was told it's extra $145 (second surprise). Well, since technician is here, I told Andrew to proceed to do both because I just don't want to schedule another one to delay the fix of my slab leak. At the end, he wasn't able to locate the manifold because he's unwilling to open the drywall under the sink but I still got charged more than $265 (I believe I should not be charged over $265 from what I got). At the end, I also got quotes for both re-route and re-pipe. Re-pipe is relatively reasonable based on my other quotes. Re-route is twice of my other 3 quotes which I just couldn't understand how he came up with this price. read more

Andrew helped us after we had a renovation and the contractor did several wrong things, some we noticed and some were pointed out to us by Andrew. He is super knowledgeable, a nice guy, explains things thoroughly, likes my dog, and is trustworthy. He helped us replace drain covers that were the wrong color and were added by our contractor. He also spotted no seal around our tub's faucet and also around the shower head that could cause leaks, etc. We asked him some other questions about the contractor's work and he helped us determine if there would be problems and how to fix/mitigate them. He spent a lot of time talking to us and looking at our newly installed bathrooms. I think the price was reasonable. And I really appreciate that he showed us how to correct a few issues on our own with limited cost. That's cool. We'll use these guys again for any plumbing issue that arises. read more

Can't say enough good things about Coastline. 2 weeks ago we had a water leak under our slab in the living room. After going back and forth with HomeServe decided to find our own plumber to reroute all the water lines into the ceiling using pex. Dan was able to send his crew out the day after we called and it was finished in a day. The drywall & stucco crew came the next morning to patch the holes and fix the stucco. In the interim our water heater needed a new control panel and Dan was able to fix that as well. We are so pleased with all the work we had to have done. We now have hot water and are not worried about anymore leaks under our slab. Everyone who worked on our house was extremely efficient, nice and didn't leave a big mess. Dan V sent a plumber to my house to install a dishwasher I purchased from Home Depot. 1. He did not assess to make sure the new machine was working properly prior to install. Once installed, he discovered the machine control board was faulty. Could have been avoided if properly assessed prior to install. 2. 2.5 hours and $360 later, I don't have a dishwasher installed AND discovered same evening the dishwasher water line was left leaking onto my floor. The main valve and the newly installed safety water line valve both failed and there's water now creeping up the wall. 3. Now NO ONE IS REACHABLE at Coastline Plumbing to stop the water leak that the plumber created!!! Voice message states they're closed on Saturday and Sunday. Is there a knowledgeable plumber who likes to work?? Coastline reached out and a plumber came and stopped the leaking water line. read more

We've used CLP many times in the past and I'm not sure why I forgot to give them a Yelp review. Actually, the reason we haven't used them recently is that once they fix something or install a faucet, it's done so well, we never have an issue again! Every time they've helped us, whether it be a clogged drain, installing a kitchen faucet to replacing a toilet, the job is done right, on time and with very honest, friendly service. We called Coastline as they worked on the house next door and the owner was very pleased. We looked at Yelp after and found that the reviews here were excellent as well. Daniel from Coastline showed up on time, called me when he was on the way. We requested drain line service as we did not know when the last time our drains were cleaned or scoped. Coastline has very impressive tools to accomplish this and not stone was left unturned to ensure our drains were clear and more importantly, which drains went which ways to the street. Daniel spent time inspecting every drain. I was very involved in the process so that i could understand what he was doing. He was very patient with my endless questions and tool the time to show me in the camera where the drains were going and how clean they were after service. Overpriced and incomplete work Had a leaking tub fixed by them. Job took about two hours do complete and included a new plastic drain to properly seal the pipes. Andrew gave me a whole song and dance about this custom machined drain which I assumed would be metal (machined) but upon install it was just plastic connected to a rubber universal pipe. It did the job but $1200 for that? And that was at a discount. Then to make things worse they leave me high and dry on finishing the job by not patching the ceiling! He told me to use the tub and see if it's no longer leaking then call him to finish but now they say they don't do drywall and never said they would... What a lie read more

I ordered a plumbing inspection during the escrow inspection period for my clients home purchase at the request of my client and they specifically asked for a video so that they can see what is inside the mainline. The contractor came to the house, put a line down the attic and then came down and told us that the video was on the line but there was nothing for the buyers to look at. We received nothing. Instead of a real report, he also wrote on his invoice page a description of what he found and gave it to them saying that that invoice is the plumbing report. He charged $385 for this. The service was subpar and by far, the most unprofessional vendor I've ever worked with before. read more
