Used this service for the first time recently. On the first visit, the lady did a fantastic job but ran out of time and didn't get to one room. No big deal. We liked the work so we asked them to come back in a couple of weeks and do the one room and use the rest of the minimum time (3hrs) to clean other rooms. The lady misunderstood our instructions and still didn't get to the original room. We were annoyed, not wanting to pay another 3 hours minimum just to get one room done. When I called to complain, they apologized and offered to send someone out to take care of the room for free! Mistakes and miscommunication happen, but the way a company handles it shows their worth. I emailed 27 hours in advance to reschedule to next week, as my daughter has Hand Foot & Mouth disease. I thought it would be responsible to not expose the cleaning ladies & their families to HMF. In response, Chris texted me with a threat that reads: Hi, How about the mom who you just cancelled for tomorrow that has three kids and bills to pay now we will text her no work for tomorrow. AVOID, "Clearly Clean" is the opposite of what you get I hired Clearly Clean for a move-in deep clean on May 8. I paid for a full move-in cleaning per "Clearly Cleans" suggestion. I got a rushed wipe-down and had to re-clean the apartment myself that night. Here is what they left behind, all documented in the photos I sent them on May 9: 1. Drawers: crumbs and dirt inside 2. Cabinets: dirty 3. Trash can: outside half-wiped, inside still dirty 4. Backsplash at sink and above stove: greasy film 5. All 4 corners of the kitchen sink: food residue 6. Floor molding: dusty When I emailed with photos, owner "Chris" replied five days later claiming his team "asked for your input several times" and I gave "positive responses." That is false. The timeline: crew arrived 8:00, I left at 8:30. I returned at 11:15, they were packed up and out by 11:30. There was no walkthrough, no "several times". When I got home I immediately told them they missed spots, they were already walking out the door and had to unpack to clean. Their excuse in the email was that the unit "was in a much more difficult state than anticipated" and there are "physical limits." This was a vacant, standard 2-bed condo, not a hoarder house. Moving a couch and wiping a sink corner is not a physical limit, it is basic cleaning. I wanted to use them biweekly. After this, I wouldn't let them back in with a free offer. Save your money. The name "Clearly Clean" is misleading marketing. Look at the photos before you book. The service I requested was quick and they were pretty flexible when I booked. They take zelle or card but with card there is a convenience fee. Irene came to clean my place and she did a phenomenal job. I am moving into my new place and there is not a speck of dust anywhere. She is meticulous and I appreciate how communicative the team is. They called me when she was about 20 mins to being done. One thing I will recommend is to provide a ladder or step stool if you have tall walls. AVOIDDD. i'm so exhausted with this experience. my aunt runs a cleaning service in indiana where i moved away from so wanted to support a place here, specifically eastern european (ukraine). the first time i was so excited to come home to the clean casa and was so sad, not only did a candle get left on (i turned it on for her to be nice and told her) and i have a tiny shotgun style studio apartment . it was a mess everywhere, so i have the uncomfortable convo for them to return anddd again im let down and now out $100 plus the $15 tip and had to clean it myself. i had to tell the manager what areas to have her visit and revisit that were somehow missed and again they were completely missed, i even removed everything off my tiny singular end table to make it more obvious and send him photos of everything that he said he sent to her. they told me if it's a deep clean needed they'll let me know i said sounds good. after the first he said y don't need a deep clean, so now here we are and i sent him updated photos and he's claiming "those are diff areas than before" which isn't true and also that shouldn't even be relevant as it should all be cleaned then he replied to my photo of the end table and said that's a deep cleaning for that!!! when he prior told me i didn't need that an i agreed to it if needed and it took me less than a minute to while down with windex. the cleaner was nice and it's sad this happened and sad she let me down an sad how the owner takes advantage of clients with poor results and no refunds. i'm a disabled veteran and my mobility isn't always the best so i was excited for this journey. also after the second apt and me complaining he said i should have yet againnnnn showed her the areas that still somehow were missed when that's incredible uncomfortable to do and why am i correcting a professional cleaning after two cleans in two days for a tiny apt ??avoid about avoid read more

Management will accuse you of wrong doing, take zero accountability, and be unwilling to work with you for any resolutions. Worst customer experience we have experienced in the services industry in a long time. Here's what happened: We set an appointment for a cleaner to clean at our house earlier today. Within the first two minutes of cleaning our bathroom, she broke the bathroom mirror. When Management called us to respond to the incident, the first thing which they told us was that their company wasn't liable for the damages, and that it must be our fault that the mirror couldn't withstand a simple clean. Let me say that, over the years, we have had multiple cleaners come through, cleaning the same mirror. Never once has the mirror fallen down or broken. The mirror is not in some hard to reach position, nor is it particularly challenging to clean. Just a standard mirror in front of a sink. Yet when Chris called us to respond to the incident, he accused us of having inferior bathroom fixtures and that it must be us/our products which are faulty. Cleaning lady apologized, and we understand accidents can happen. But Management's response will give you an idea of what kind of accountability the company believes it has with property damage while in your home (zero). If you're considering this service, do yourself a favor, find another company which is managed with higher standards, and one which takes an interest in valuing you as a customer. read more

We recently booked this company for a "move in clean" of our new apartment. They suggested 4 hours so that's what we went with. The day of the cleaning, they called to say the lady needed another hour, which we were fine with, so ended up paying $160 for 5 hours (before tip). I specified that I wanted all the kitchen cabinets/drawers cleaned, however each drawer that I opened to check had either pieces of food or dust inside - this is unacceptable. Almost all the kitchen counter tops were still dusty/had pieces of dirt on them. I asked for the windows to be cleaned but clearly the lady could only reach half way up - so she left them half clean, half dirty. They shouldn't offer a window cleaning service if they don't have the tools to allow them to do it. Called the company to complain, and the best they could do was to send the same woman again the next day. She spent an hour cleaning the few specific things I pointed out and left them marginally better than before, but the whole apartment still needed a proper cleaning job done. We booked this move-in clean to take some stress out of our move since the way I see it, it's worth it to pay professionals to do the job well. I had one of the worst customer experiences with this company. Chris, the owner, clearly doesn't care much about customers, which was demonstrated throughout my experience with the company. We used Clearly Clean Services to clean our house in Lincoln Park. We found a great cleaner in their services that consistently did a good job but then we had an awful experience with the company during our move-out. We agreed to pay the extra move-out cleaning premium as well as pay for extra time and the two cleaners that came did a terrible job. I had to ask at one point for them to do the shelves in the kitchen, which I had assumed was part of a move-out clean. The premium clean also didn't include vacuuming so I ended up having to vacuum our basement. When I called the company, the woman was quite pleasant and sounded like she empathized with my situation but told me that Chris would need to contact me. I subsequently receive a call from Chris, tell him the situation and he proceeds to tell me that the clean was good and that I don't know what I'm talking about. He then berates me and demands payment (which I make). Needless to say, it was a horrendous customer experience and one that didn't need to happen if Chris wasn't so confrontational and insecure. I hired this company to clean our condo and trusted they would do a good job since I wasn't in town and couldn't be there when they finished. huge mistake! I paid for 3 hours of cleaning (this is a 1bd/1br 850sq ft condo) and it is still unclear what they did for 3 hours, because they certainly didnt clean. the bathroom sink, tub/shower, and toilet were all dirty. The refrigerator wasn't touched. My tenant was the 1st to see it and said "there is no way someone cleaned this place", then i went over to see when i was back in town and it looked awful. I took pictures of everything and called Chris to discuss. He was immediately defensive and just talked about how many happy/satisfied customers they have, and I'm sure they do, but that isnt the point. The issue is that my cleaning was horrible. I offered to send him the pictures but he said he didnt want to see them and that he wouldnt send another cleaner out and wouldnt compensate in any way. I told him if that was the case, then i would be forced to write them a bad review, to which he accused that of being "blackmail" - lol. Having been fortunate enough to use a different maids service on previous occasions we were excited about having someone come to do a deep/spring cleaning of our 1 bedroom apartment. We spoke with a woman named Helena over the phone about all of the services we were hoping to have done and she suggested that 6 hours would suffice. We requested to have 2 people come so that the job could get done more quickly and she said that it wouldn't be a problem. On the day of our appointment 1 woman showed up at the time I had discussed with Helena...Not 2. I called Helena and she assured me that the other woman should be there within the hour. The second maid was an hour late. Not only was NOTHING I had discussed with Helena passed onto the maids, but there was a huge language barrier so I couldn't express to them (beyond pointing) what I would like for them to do. Again, I had to call Helena back and politely ask her to speak with the ladies about the services we had requested. As I sit here and write this I can see dusty splotches on the floor that we were missed by their shoddy vacuum and mop job, the closets are not organized as I had requested, and there are visible areas in that kitchen that were totally neglected. DON'T spend your hard earned money on this company. You will not be satisfied with the 'service' provided. This was my first time hiring a cleaning service. My husband and I have been stressed and overworked with very little free time and decided to let a professional catch us up on our cleaning duties. We asked for a 4-hour deep clean and were mostly pleased. Yays: 1. She polished our bathroom garbage can. We would never do this. 2. She dusted my closet doors. I would *certainly* never do this. 3. She was in and out in precisely four hours. This is impressive to me, as it would take me much, much longer. She obviously has a system down. I wish I'd been there to learn a few tricks. 4. She "edged" the floors, ridding us of about a sweater's worth of cat hair. 5. She took her shoes off and wore soft-soled sandals. I appreciate this. Nays: 1. She did not do the insides of the windows, which I'm just now realizing and which I'd requested. Unfortunately, it is too late for me to do anything about this. 2. We have a sunroom which functions as a plant / utility room. This room got minimal attention. She mopped / vacuumed the floor and that's it. To be fair, it's obvious this is not a living space for us, but it would have been nice if she'd edged the floors in there as well. 3. She spoke not a word of English. I hate to be "that guy" but even a very basic vocabulary would have been helpful. My husband had to gesture at her like he was playing charades. Perhaps she's very new here and still learning. She seemed very sweet, but it would have been nice to review the plan with her as obviously there was some disconnect between what I requested and what she was told to do by her employer. It's weird having a stranger flitting about your house while you're home. I thought I'd feel all grown-up and cosmopolitan, but instead I felt apologetic and fought the urge to jump in and help her. They are not accommodating to schedule changes and their services aren't up to par. I dont understand why they can't clean the inside of ovens well. I even left the easy off oven spray in the oven so the grease could come off better. The cleaning lady did such a poor job removing the grease and easy off remnants. I have been using Clearly Clean Services for YEARS. In that time I started as a infrequent user and grew to be a regular who has someone come every two weeks. Whenever I come home on cleaning day I am always impressed by the care with which the job has been done. I do have the same person each week (and in at least 6 years there has only been one replacement due to turnover) and she has gotten to know my home and is helpful in ways that I sometimes hadn't expected. If I could give zero stars I would. I had used Clearly Clean several times and was happy with the work. Then a couple weeks ago after their last visit, we came home to unmopped floors and a huge scratch in our wood kitchen table. Our cleaning products had been placed over the scratch in an apparent attempt to cover it up. I called, they said the manager Chris said he would come with the cleaning lady to check it out the next day. Chris called the next day and said they couldn't come until Monday. Fine. The cleaning lady showed up on Monday, no Chris. She took pictures and left. Almost two weeks goes by and I haven't heard anything, so I send an email through their system asking someone to please call me. Chris calls me and says he "cannot understand how a cleaning lady could scratch the table." He's also claiming he spoke to my husband who told him "the cleaning supplies were on the counter, not the table." One, he never talked to my husband. Two, the bottom line is the cleaning lady was the only person in the apartment the entire day. The scratch was not there when we left in the morning, and was there when we got home. I understand that mistakes happen. What I cannot believe is that a business would so blatantly deny responsibility for their actions, all I asked was that they make it right. They offered no solution, not even an offer of apology. With so many cleaning services in the Chicago area, I would highly recommend avoiding the risk of working with a company with such disregard for customer service. read more

I use service multiple times per year for tenant move out, new construction and for my person residence. I just had a tenant move out and needed the unit turned over immediately. Tenants left the unit absolutely filthy. Cleary Clean service staff arrived early and transformed the unit, leaving the entire unit spotless. They tackled the filthy greasy kitchen appliances and cabinets and disgustingly dirty bathroom and mildew tile. I requested extra service to do all unit baseboards, windows and window sills! I have recommended them to a few clients for move out or pre-listing cleanings. They cleaned one of our listings on Monday. After a lot of difficulty scheduling (and the woman was 25 minutes late), they cleaned for "6 hours" and then expressed they would need additional money (more than quoted) to finish the job. I find this completely unacceptable. They also told us we should "not call them again". I don't think this is any way to run a business, but I would suggest you call elsewhere also. read more

Surprised by all these negative reviews - our experience has been fantastic. We have a 5 hour cleaning set up every two weeks and they do a great job every time. You can tell that they really value being thorough and leaving the home looking tidy as well as clean. We used two other cleaning services before finding Clearly Clean, and they are the best. The big national chains pay a low hourly wage and keep the bulk of what you pay, and you can tell, because the cleaners just don't care that much. It makes a big difference to use a smaller service with better paid workers. Plus the lady who comes loves my dog, so I feel safe leaving the house. Really happy to have found them. read more

This was our first time using Clearly Clean and I came home today *very* pleasantly surprised. I was so happy with it that I decided to write my first Yelp review - Yep! That good. I expected a satisfactory surface cleaning but our cleaners were very diligent with the small details as well. I was was particularly blown away by the bathroom and kitchen. Not only did they clean the toilet and bathroom surfaces, they also cleared the 12 bottles of shower stuff I have on the ledge, and cleaned the entire area for mildew. All the hard water on my shower doors - gone. In the kitchen, they cleared everything we had in the sink and made it sparkle like I've never seen before. They even washed the pot I had made fondue in, which was so cemented on with cheese, I had scrubbed and soaked it for 3 days with no luck. The pot was immaculate and neatly stacked on the rest of our dishes when I came home. That itself was worth the money. Great experience and we will definitely be using them again.
