Awesome! Best small town BBQ in the area. Chipped sandwich, stew and a sweet tea. I like locally opened places and this is the place!

I heard about Clearview just yesterday from two different sources, looked at the reviews on Yelp and had to give it a go. It has a great BBQ atmosphere and at 2:30 there were still a fair amount of folks showing up to eat. There were maybe 10 people in line the whole time I was there. I heard if you go for lunch the line will be out the door. I don't like lines so I waited till I thought I could get served without too much of a wait. I've been on a chip sandwich tear lately so the $.99 sandwich was a must. I like the way it was prepared on top of a panini type cooker with the bun slightly toasted. I had slaw and pickles with the hot mustard based sauce, and a side of Brunswick stew, and an iced tea. I was a little surprised they only had sweet tea sitting out for refills, and I'm not supposed to ingest refined sugar, but heck, I'm on vacation. Now to the story of the sandwich and stew. My first bite of the sandwich, my mind and mouth say "salt!". Not as in it needs salt, but salt is the overbearing taste in my mouth. I thought, it's because of the pickles, so I remove them. Next bite, still salt. Huh. I go for a taste of the stew: delicious! I have a few more bites of stew and give the sandwich another try. Still salt. Not the delicious meat, slaw, bread and sauce flavor I'm used to with chip sandwiches. OK, maybe it's the slaw. I really couldn't separate it from the meat and bread, so I filled my spoon with the hot mustard sauce and took a sip. Mustard. At this point I need to say that I make my own mustard sauce in the same style of Chicken Comer's, and it doesn't have an overbearing mustard flavor. The heat was good in this sauce, and was just the right amount of runny to soak into the meat and slaw, but the mustard was too there. All this to say that for $.99 it's way better than any burger experience you'll find at this price, but if you're looking for a smoky meaty and slaw experience in your Chip sandwich, you might have to go elsewhere. read more

If you are a fan of real southern BBQ then this is as most of the reviews write. This is southern BBQ not that stuff the call Que up north. The price is perfect for the selection. We cook with grease down here and we BBQ a boston butt up and throw it between two pieces of bread with a slathering of sauce. It surely will never make it too a five star, but it is GOOD EATS!!!! read more

YUM FEVER! The regional bbq sauce is mustard-based and omg, it was so delicious. I had a chipped pork sandwich for friggin' 99 cents! My mapanion had a smoked chickenwich and he loved it. It was a little pricey at 2.25 (ha!)I loved my chipped porkwich. We shared a smoked baked potato and added bbq sauce to it and YAY! Also, the atmosphere is great - wooden walls and great Southern decor. Yay! read more

Pretty good BBQ, the pork sandwich is the way to go in my opinion. The potato salad was more like whipped mashed potatoes, not my favorite at all. The lemonade is super good though. Made in house a little too sweet but delicious. If I'm ever back in the Columbus area I would return here. The people were so friendly, it's cheap, cash only. FYI the lines are very long. read more

Chipped sandwich is amazing. Lemon pie not so much. The restaurant itself is shack-like, and the parking lot is full of holes. The sandwich and tea were so good, I'd be back everyday if I l lived in this area. read more

Very disappointing BBQ. I ordered the pork plate and two sides. Pork was bland and spongy had a lot of fat in it as well. I had cole slaw and baked beans for my sides. Cole was ok tasted like KFC' s cole slaw. Bake beans tasted and looked like pork and beans straight out of a can and soupy consistency. I didn't even eat all the food ended up throwing more than half away. This will be the last time I eat here, much better options elsewhere. Don't know why they are always busy at lunch, must not be anywhere else to eat around here. read more

I travel a lot for business and like to try out bbq joints in the SE. This has to be one of the best, no thrills, straight up bbq places I have been to. The line should speak for it self! The girls in the back keep the line moving. And WOW the prices are ridiculously cheap. Don't think you can eat at the Golden Arches or the king for what it cost here! Keep doing what your doing and you'll be here next time I pass through town. read more

What can I say I could eat at Clearview 6 days a week, would 7 but their closed on Sunday. Only thing bad I can say is the workers there get a bit sassy when you ask for extra cups of Bar BQ sauce, even when you say you'll pay for it. read more

Put simply, Clearview BBQ is delicious barbeque at a very reasonable price. The chopped pork is wonderfully moist and tender, the chicken is flavorful and the ribs...well, the ribs are as good as it gets. Ambiance is meh--this restaurant is all about the eatin'. There are more decorative BBQ joints in town, but for my money, I'd rather have the best tasting food, and Clearview is it. read more

Absolutely the BEST BBQ place for miles!! If the line is long, it's definitely worth the wait! The ribs are the biggest, juiciest, tastiest ribs and half a slab only $6!! They usually run out of ribs bc they're so good! So go for lunch or get there early for dinner. Their chipped sandwich is full of meat and only 99cents. You won't be disappointed. It's your typical hole in the wall really really good barbecue place. It was a 40 minute wait just for take out. The staff seem to be running behind because they only had one small grill. The place isn't clean at all but most hole in the wall places have the best food anyway. Aside from the wait andand the unfriendly staff I will do it all over again. The food was good real authentic barbecue I couldn't even believe the amount of food that I got for the price. You get what you pay for with this place. It may be cheap but it's for a damn good reason. Lots of gristle in the meat. The establishment was just messy and gross and the ladies behind the counter were all very rude. Id recommend getting a tub of prepackaged bbq and put it on the cheapest hamburger bun from the store before coming to this restaurant. My favorite barbecue place in Columbus, Georgia. The sauce is a delicious, mustard-based sauce (I always get extra). They have 99 cent BBQ sandwiches. They carry Tom's chips and great sweet tea. My favorite sandwich is the pulled chicken sandwich. There is always plenty of meat, and the meat is moist. Only downfall is they only accept cash! read more

This is probably the best BBQ in town. They do everything on the menu really well. Fast service and good prices.

This place is pretty good... The meat is good, not enough seasoning but the pork is good. The baked beans are not good at all, they taste like pork'n'beans with their mild BBQ sauce. The corn was not 'roasted', is tasted like it was boiled and they add season salt. The coleslaw is delicious, I would have just preferred it not to be so finely chopped. They only take cash or checks, which is Ok and it is a Ma and Pa store but, it was a little inconvenient having to go get cash. Overall- I gave three stars. And it is very decent priced.
