We ordered water to drink. They serve it in quart jars! We also ordered kids chicken fingers for our pup in the car. She brought it out and we went ahead and opened it up so we could break it up to cool off. It smelled delicious so we ate a bite and man, it was DELICIOUS! It was crunchy and moist and made us think about getting it next time, because we definitely plan on coming back since we travel this way quite often. On Saturday, Aug.29, 2026 @ 5:15, I made the mistake of ordering a chicken livers dinner, only to find a long medal wire sticking out of one of the livers. There is no way this food had a quality assurance check completed. And to make matters worse, the livers were refried and had obviously been prepared much earlier and just refried because they were so hard. I was soooooo disappointed, and so was my daughter whom the dinner was for. Then, the cherry on top was the unapologetic "manager" who came to give a refund and never said one word to me. The carhop, bless her heart, showed more empathy and had better leadership and customer service skills than the manager who begrudgingly gave me a refund. I came to town to visit my son and I'm always looking for a fun community race for us to participate in. I found the midnight express and knew we had to do it! I love embracing communities, meeting locals, supporting good causes and immersing yourself in your neighborhood. I've always taught my son to get out and explore- this event gave us the perfect opportunity to do so. We had the best time!!! I snagged 1st female in my Masters group which was my goal. I told my son I wasn't flying home without it ;) I forgot my running belt and my watch was dead so I ran with no phone, no watch, no music but said I'd just make it work. I take off another star for staff bringing their kids with them to work. I don't know the story as to why one of the waitresses had their kid with them, but if you bring them, I should not know that you brought them. Having an unattended kid sitting on a huge rocking chair screaming a song over and over again for 20 minutes for the whole restaurant to hear is not enjoyable. Good thing we checked our order before we left, because not only were the ribs dry we didn't get a full slab and the pork sandwich we ordered was suppose to have coleslaw and it had one small tiny leaf. When we showed them the issues with the order we were met with a poor attitude by the manager. We ordered the eggrolls too, and they were dry, small and hard. This is it for me and won't return. Ribs, brisket, smoked sausage, pulled pork, collard greens, baked beans, corn on the cob, cole slaw, sweet potatoes. Lots of mmms and not a lot of talking. I ordered the Turkey & Stuffing, with 2 sweet potato souffle's as my sides. The souffle was phenomenal! On the sweet side, with brown sugar crumbles, but oh-so good! I probably wouldn't order the Turkey & Stuffing again, but it wasn't bad. Huge portions. If you need a sugar fix, head straight to dessert and get the Lemon Meringue pie. The way they handle orders , especially countries Barbecue on Broad , is terrible . I have no doubt if you are eating in and you have a problem it will be corrected immediately. But if you're using doordash or any other food delivery service , or getting takeout at their drive-thru , then more often than not something will be wrong . Sometimes it's minor , tonight I did not get my bread order . Sometimes it's major , I ordered grilled chicken fingers the other time , and got fried . As a diabetic this means I can't eat that chicken . Thankfully it was a rib and chicken finger platter so I could at least eat the ribs. But it's always something . The pickles are huge and cooked perfectly - not over-battered and not over-fried. We also all ordered platters. Our platters came with 2 sides each, in addition to our choice of white bread, grilled bread or corn bread. They have 3 BBQ sauces to choose from at each table - a sweet BBQ, medium, and hot sauce.
