This clinic continues to impress! The doctors bedside manners are amazing and they have successfully treated my dry eyes. Although I'm a full time contact lens wearer, I love the selection of frames for men and try to pick up a new pair of backup glasses every other year...very trendy and cool stuff. The doctor spent a little extra time with me during the exam which went along way because this was my first eye doctor appointment in years. The staff was quick, friendly and very helpful. They took two weeks after I had picked out my frames before starting the ordering process. At that time they realized they under charged me by $4.56 and would not order until I called back with the additional payment. The retail price of the glasses were $1200.00. I have insurance so they did not make $1200.00 off of my order but to not process a new customers order for 2 weeks and then hold it for an additional two days for $4.56 is ridiculous. It took almost 30 days after I ordered to get my glasses. Very disappointed. read more

DO NOT buy glasses here! My eye exam was fine, other than having to wait in the room for the doctor too long. Prices are ridiculously high and it is difficult to get an appointment. I had trouble with my glasses causing eye strain and headache (which I have never had before) so I had to make an appointment with a tech (1.5 weeks out.) The tech looked at the RX to confirm it was what the doctor wrote and told me I had to make another appointment with the doctor to be sure she wrote the correct RX (another week or so out.) I spent about 35 minutes with the doctor and her assistant and was then handed over to a tech, stating it was likely an issue with the design of the lenses (I have multi-focals.) She marked up my current glasses as well as my new ones and said "I'll be right back." 10 minutes later she emerged from the back with Brian. He was condescending and basically told me my RX was right but I was using my glasses incorrectly! What?! He said they could redo them but it would likely not help. I told him I wanted to scrap it all and get a refund. He said there would be a "restocking fee," which turned out to be $183.55!! I wanted to give a smaller business my business and definitely regret it. Big business wins as I will return to Lens Crafters or even Zenni where I have never had these issues and spent less money. read more

My doctor gave me the best eye exam since I can remember. I never feel rushed here and everyone is always so patient. Both she and my technician made me feel comfortable and informed as they did the exam. Despite not feeling rushed, the exam didn't take very long and I learned a lot about my eyes too! When I need glasses, their optical staff is always very helpful and are great at suggesting eyewear and making sure it fits perfectly afterwards. ve been going to him for over a year and he prescribed Restasis and suggested that I take Fish Oil daily and use the Thermo Eyes reusable heat packs that I purchased from his office to use at night before I go t bed. Following his advise has made my dry eye much better and I no longer have to deal with the feeling that I have sand in my eyes all day every day. I have been a patient here for 4 years. Every time I leave the office I tell my husband I am never coming back. Then I am due to go in and I am too lazy to find something else. I will start by saying that the doctors here have all been very nice/professional during the visits. The same with many of the staff. The office is also very clean. there are a few kids toys, drinks, and snacks. The problem I have is how I feel they try to nickel and dime me at every visit. When I first went in I was pregnant. The front desk person made a pitch for getting this eye measuring device (an extra cost to do it). The appeal she said was that I would not have to be dilated. I then told her I was pregnant and she said I could not get dilated and therefore should go with the device. I did, thinking I had no other option, and then was informed by the doctor during my visit (after I asked) if I could have been dilated and she said I totally could have been. During another visit, they were 45 minutes behind schedule. Instead of telling my husband and Me when we checked in, clearly carting 2 young kids with us, they let us check in and wait for an hour in the room. At my last scheduled visit, I asked to order more contacts. My vision hadn't changed and I liked the kind I had. I primarily wear glasses but use contacts for special occasions or swimming. The front desk person told me I'd be charged for a contact fitting and would have to come in multiple times. I told her I just wanted to order the same ones. She said I could not order them unless I had the contact fitting despite being fitted only a year before. When I went into the doctor, the doc told me it would be fine to just order the same ones without the fitting and extra visits. When i went to pick up the contacts, they only had half of what I ordered (why they had me come in for half, who knows?). When the second portion of the contacts came in, they called to let me know. I did not pick them up right away. After they called me one other time, they left me a message telling me they would just send my contacts back to the manufacturer if I did not pick them upright away. It's worth noting I had already paid for them. My last experience I will ever have was recently. My frames are loose on one of the sides. It causes my glasses that I wear all the time to fall off. When I went in to have them tightened, they proceeded to tell me that I would have to get new gLasses because they didn't have the right tool to fix the glasses and they no longer manufacture them. These frames are only 1 1/2 years old. When i inquired about waiting to get new ones at my next visit, since I get frames every other year, she told me the front office used my insurance for my contacts despite me telling the office I would pay completely out of pocket for my contacts since I primarily wear Frames and care more about using my insurance towards those. After pushing back a little, the employee said they would go ahead and pay for my old frames as there are a only a few left from the manufacturer but that I'd have to order now and pay $65 for shipping and handling and wait 5 weeks. THEN I waited and waited to get a call to say the frames were in. After many weeks I finally called and low and behold they have had them in for 3 weeks and supposedly called my home phone and left a message. I am done with this place. Like I said, the doctors have been good. However, for me, the office staff are pushing for sales and playing games to get you to pay more. I don't like that mentality in a doctors office. And that's what I find here. read more

I felt my exam with the doctor was sort of rushed, then I felt pressured to buy new glasses when I wanted to reuse my own frames, if even for a "backup" pair after mentioning I already had a backup pair. Then the "disclaimer" that they might break my favorite old frames when fitting them for new lenses - I sorta felt like that was again, pressure, to keep them and buy new from them of course. If they break my frames I'm going to be pissed. Their vendor should be able to know if something is going to break before they actually break - given their job is to make glasses. read more

Recently, I visited Dr. Gelt at Clearvue Vision Center. As I walked in I was greeted by I sweet young women she explained what I could expect from my impending appointment. Next Dr Gelt's technician called me back she was so caring, I have white coat syndrome and often feel anxious visiting the doctor, she reassured me and made me feel at ease. THEN the doctor came in. She has such a way of explaining that was happening with my eyes and what steps I need to take to slow the progression of my cataract. I have never felt a personal connection with a doctor like I did with Dr. Gelt. Finally I must say I am IN LOVE with my new Ferragamo sunglasses! They are amazing! The girl who helped me was so sweet and stylish! I love my glasses and wear them more then any I have ever had. Do yourself and your eyes a favor and go to Clearvue! read more

My daughter needed glasses, first time getting a professional eye exam. Everyone we dealt with was wonderful! From the lady who checked us in, to Dr. Gelt who is so kind and caring. Kate who helped us pick out glasses is an absolute treasure! So nice, kind, and funny. She made the experience pleasant and I dare say, fun! I called last week to make an appointment and gave all of my insurance information over the phone. I was very clear about what why I was coming in, which was to possibly switch to contacts but I could tell that my vision had changed since my last eye exam. I show up to my appointment yesterday and everything seemed fine, filled out my paperwork and noted that I wanted to see about getting CONTACTS. I went through my whole exam (that my insurance was supposed to cover) to be told at the end at checkout time that I owed money for a Contact Exam because it was different than what my insurance covered. The lady checking me out apologized and said that they dropped the ball and said that the person who checked me in should have told me. But she didn't and said not a word while the woman checked me out. she waited until the end to glance over smile and turn away. I also have to note that my eyes were dilated during my exam, in a dark room. No one told me that i would have light sensitivity and blurry vision once i got outside. I asked another person about it and was told that Shades should have been provided to me or they should have told me to bring some with me to my appointment. Another ball dropped. Because of them not "caring" for their customers the way they should have I was out money that i was not expecting to spend and I struggled to drive home in rush hour traffic where I had to judge distances based on blurry blobs in front of me that were cars. I am appalled at how bad things where in such a clean nice office with great reviews. Only to be mislead and sent out the door with no care to how I would adjust or drive with dilated eyes. KRIS was the only person there who seemed to actually care. read more

First class Eye Care from the two Optometrists (Dr. Gelt & Dr. Heitmeyer) to the entire staff. I have been with this group for a few years. I have had contact fittings and frames, also. I highly recommend their frame 'fitter' Brian. He can adjust your frames perfectly, because how your frames 'fit' will determine if you enjoy wearing them or not. I went to Clearvue Vision Center looking for help with dry eyes. I have not been to an Optometrist for a long time and Dr. Heitmeyer was friendly and made me feel very welcome. He went above and beyond to help me during appointments and on his own time. I had difficulty getting my prescription and he did all he could to assist. Dr. Heitmeyer responded promptly to my emails, changed my prescription quantity to better meet my needs, and informed me of a program that assisted me financially. I recently moved to this area and had been struggling to find a decent optometrist to see. Per the solid reviews, I decided to try Clearvue and I'm SO happy I did. My first impression was with Gloria and she was beyond friendly. She was personable, authentic and funny, to be honest at first I thought she was the doctor as she was so knowledgeable as she was conducting my original eye exam. Next I had Dr Gelt who was sweet and professional. She directed me to my options of contacts and glasses which brought me to Joanna in frames: she was hilarious and truly made a simple exam into a memorable experience. She helped me pick out some Ray-Ban frames (she played the role of my sister or best friend to give me the 2nd opinion) and then she brought out some special edition Ray-Ban sunglasses that I fell in love with. I opted for the frames and contacts in the end but her authentic selling approach was commendable. I understand the business of sales/up-selling but she was just having fun with me, try this on, these are cute, etc. Overall, Clearvue has a professional and educated staff while leaving a lasting impression and truly creating a customer service culture within their business. read more

My family and I have been going her a long time. The Doctors are very nice and seem thorough. We have purchased several pairs of very expensive glasses. I was told that there was a lifetime warranty on the second pair of expensive fendi sunglasses I purchased. They broke in a little over a year. They did replace them as promised. The second time they broke recently in exact same place. They said that the company had sold out to another company and the warranty was no longer valid, sorry we cant help you or fix these. I would not have spent $600.00 on sun glasses had I been told up front that the lifetime warranty only means the lifetime of the company staying in business. I think its poor customer service not to have an option for the customers with who were told they have lifetime warranties. When this has happened with other products, the company that sold me the item has made other arrangements for warranted items. I also don't like the way they scheduled appointments for our family without our knowledge and then had the nerve to say you didn't keep your appointment. I do appointment scheduling for a dental office and I have never just made someone an appointment without them knowing about it. We had to tell them multiple times to stop. read more
