6th time visiting this campground. They changed owners this past winter. The previous visits were very nice. This year we are very disappointed with the conditions of the sight when we arrived. The bathrooms were dirty the beach was unkempt and the beach store was closed. Also the store was not stocked . The trees have rotted branches hanging everywhere during a rain storm on fell and dented the roof of my truck. When I mentioned it to a employee He acted as if he couldn't care less. I wish the original owners could see how bad this campground has slipped. Not to mention that if you want to make a reservation for the future they want full payment and a $20.00 sight lock in fee.Its sad we won't be going back anytime soon. read more

We just spent a week at Clearwater Campground and will very likely return. The sites are spacious compared to other campgrounds and private "enough". While we did not need the "facilities", we did check them out and they were immaculate. The staff was friendly and even delivered a ladder to our site when we needed to check our bump out roof (forgot ours in the haste of leaving our house with a brand new camper). The campground was quiet and peaceful even over the pre-holiday weekend. We are not beach people, so we went across to Meredith Woods and used the pool and hot tub. Also immaculate. The indoor pool/hot tub room is enormous and bright and we pretty much had it to ourselves as most people must prefer the beach when it's 90+ degrees. The campground rules are very reasonable and help to ensure that campers have a good experience. We felt the rates were also reasonable. read more

In my fairly expert "camping" experience, this place is alright. There are outlets and water spigots at each campsite with showers and bathrooms not too far from any particular camp site. There's a beach, several little jungle gyms near each of the facilities for the kiddies to play at, a game room, and a convenience store that, surprisingly, doesn't try to rob you blind. They conveniently provide a small metal trash barrel next to each picnic table on the site, so you don't have to worry about bringing any of your own unless you know you'll go through one large black plastic bag really quick. A word to the wise, you have to bring whatever garbage you create to the dumpster near the entrance to the campground yourself. And, should you be like us and show up really late: the campground shuts down at 10:30 p.m. This means that if you have reserved a site, but show up at 10:35 p.m., you're not going to be happy because they're not going to let you in. Thankfully, we showed up just in time, but not without being told how lucky we were to just have made it. Security at this place is pretty standard in the ways of campgrounds of today: once you've checked in and paid your money they give you an RFID card so that, should you leave the campground for any reason in your car, you'll be able to get back in later. No card, no getting in. The con to this place is that it is basically an RV paradise. So if you're in to that sort of thing, you will be more than happy here. Also, because its such a densely populated campground, quiet hours start at 10 p.m. so you do have keep raucous drinking voices to a minimum. As we were on the very edge of the campground's property line, our neighbors were quite tolerant of our loudness. Note: by "camping" I mean the type where you have all the comforts of home within walking distance, but you're still sleeping outdoors, roasting your food over a fire of some sort and have plenty of bugspray to kill the nearest infestation of mosquitoes. read more

Spent a weekend here in July. We arrived at the campsite and it was extremely rocky as well as located in front of a fence. Think backyard! There were other sites open around us. So we called the front desk and was told they were all reserved. Unfortunately that differs with their initial policy when I made the reservation saying they assign campers a site upon arrival. Overall the campground is exactly that, a campground. Not a whole lot of family activity outside of what you would normally expect. Decent shower and bathroom facilities. Good size sites. The major problem is the staff. Not welcoming in any aspect. And the rules are out of control. We visited a few weeks ago and were given an access coin for the gate, this time there's no coins and you need an act of congress to get in. When we tried to pay for the time we were in there, the clerk was rude and insisting on us paying for the electric bill of the site we were visiting. The visit rates are a bit higher than most others. Two adults are $30 per night. The owner has the personality of roadkill. The only staff member that was the least bit helpful was the owners son. Since my in laws are seasonal pass holders, it has been decided that this would be the first and last year that we would be staying. read more

This campground has the rudest staff we've ever met, and the owner is ignorant when asking questions or for help. we stayed this weekend and for an adult it was $20 versus if it was a kid it was for free how does that make sense? kids are more chaos than adults like are you deluded? not to mention they overcharge on all the drinks and candy, and coffee is 2.50 when it's not even subpar coffee. the only thing that's clean are the bathrooms, the cabins are fireplaces are infested with huge spiders. no one wants to stay in a cabin and not be able to get a good nights sleep, especially when paying extra. it also takes forever to drive out with too many one ways and every activity you do is only limited for two hours. finally, they charge you for wifi when most other sites have it for free and then charge you a bunch of fees for the key, the cabin, and a car pass. a lot of the people there besides a few we met are nice and personable, everyone else isn't but a rude ass. if you want to have a good camping experience whether tent or cabin don't come here! there are far better places with nicer atmosphere! read more

Clean and fair prices. You could hear some road noise at night but not too bad. Easy checkin and right on beautiful lake + great proximity to local attractions etc. I was a little annoyed at the security deposit on the gate card but they do refund upon return and I get why they do it. I checked out early, before the office was open, so I dropped off the card but didn't get the card security deposit ($10) back. That left a sour taste in my mouth but I wasn't going to waste the time/aggravation trying to get it back over the phone. To my surprise, I received a letter with a $10 personal check in the mail today from the owner, without ever asking. In today's world, I was absolutely blown away by this class act. We took family here for a 10 day camping trip. Staff was really friendly except one woman made a teenager employee scold me and my kids about the pool rules. This place has a great location for activities around town (Lake Winnipesaukee). They had great amenities such as a beach, indoor swimming pool, hot tub, 2 game rooms and movies areas. People were nice and considerate around the campground. Can't wait to go back. read more

Do not recommend, we rented a cabin for the weekend and ran into numerous issues and nobody was willing to fix them. 1) The cabin smelled like sewerage 2) The "screened in porch" had large patches of screen missing 3) There was no picnic table 4) The freezer did not work 5) The light above the stove was broken read more

We drove up the year before to look at sites to book for the next year because they only book 5 nights for a guaranteed site number. We call a few weeks before we are scheduled to go to get dock space which is double the money than any other campground around there. We get there and they changed their rules. They say 6 nights now for a guaranteed site I explained to them we booked the year before they didn't care. We got the smallest site I think they had. Couldn't have a fire because my awning was over the fire pit. When we pulled in 10 mins early to check in the two girls at the desk said to each other your 10 minutes early you can not check in yet. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. if I haven't payed them already I would of gladly left and went across the street to TWIN TAMMARAC. We have been there a handful of times they are always nice and helpful. Book there it is worth walking across the street to go to the lake. read more

The campground was really nice and well kept. We went with a large group and they refused to assure us we would all be next to each other. That was a bit of a worry because we all have kids and plan meals together. We did end up being put together. my husband and I checked in first, they even refused to let us know we were next to each other when we checked in. My biggest complaint about Meredith Woods is the staff is extremely unfriendly especially the young guy working there.. read more

By far one of the worst campsites I've ever been to. First off the lady at the front desk was an absolute nightmare to deal with, can't throw a football on the beach but you can drink all the beer you want on the beach and in the water? Makes sense. And one of the "security guards" walking up and down next to our camp site with his flash light trying to hit on my girlfriend. It's bad when you have to kick security off of your camp site for being an absolute creep. Beautiful place. Horrible HORRRRRIBLE service and people who work there. Would like to say we enjoyed the campground - but can't. This was a visit we were looking forward to for a long time because we had camped with our children many years ago. Now as adults with children of their own we decided to have a "return weekend." We are tent campers and it appears that the campground caters to "Seasonal campers." The first night we had seasonal campers close by that were not just loud, but very loud with bad language and bad conversation until about 12:30. Apparently, no staff members monitor the 10PM "Quiet Time." The kids even commented on what they could hear. Not good. The rest rooms were dirty, even after the scheduled cleaning. Moldy shower curtains, dirty floors, dirty door screens, and poor maintenance in general. You can't reserve a sight in advance so you get whatever they want to give you. Although we told them exactly what we were camping in. The sight assigned was to small, way to small. We had to look for, and request, another sight which we thankfully received. Although we in past years had many great memories from camping here, those days are gone. It's sad, but we won't return!!!!!!!!!! read more

We have been here before years go and decided to come back for a long weekend. Upon checking in we found a new office which is very nice and clean. The girls at the desk were very pleasant and welcoming. Rates for fall camping are good for full hookups for a large trailer. We had requested a site by looking at the map online. We were told it wasn't guaranteed but we received anyway. (I thought it might have been the site we stayed on years ago.) Once we arrived and got to our site, we realized it was right next to the basketball courts there was a bunch of loud kids screaming there. Kids will be kids, and I don't mind that, but we wanted a quiet weekend for fall camping. We went back to the office and asked to be moved. Not a problem!! We were moved right away to a site we picked that was empty that we saw when driving around the campground. It's a perfect site, nice and quiet. The campground is clean and all sites are pretty good size. The beach is nice and clean with soft sand and the water wasn't bad. Swimming in mid September!! We also used the pool and hot tub across the street at Meredith woods which was very nice. We are very seasoned campers who camp very often every summer, I can say we will definitely come back more often to this place! read more

There are two campgrounds here. Meredith Woods on the north side of Rt 104 and Clearwater Campground on the south side of Rt 104. This review will focus on Meredith Woods. The campground is clean and neat. The sites are large and level and coated with crushed gravel. It's a little rough on the feet. There is plenty of power for larger trailers, 50, 30 and 20 amp plugs at each site. They all come with water, sewer as well as cable TV. This side is made for larger RV's. Most sites are seasonal and well maintained. The roads are paved. We stayed on site 212 and had a torrential downpour one evening and our site was inundated with water. It drained quickly and was dry in a few hours. That's a big plus! The staff is not very friendly. The younger curly haired kid working the counter is a D-bag of the highest of levels. The pool and hot tub are inside the office building and while quite nice you feel like you are being monitored the whole time. There are multiple cameras in the room. Not cool. The Clearwater campground side is much more family friendly with the beaches and playgrounds. If you have kids stay there. If you are older and like the quiet come to Meredith woods. read more

Never, ever heard of a campground that won't tell you before hand what site you will be on!!! This is the explanation I got. "If you asked for a certain site for two nights and we told you ok you would expect that site. Butttt, if a person called and asked for that site for a week then we would be out a full 5 days of not renting that site". I paid in advance and could at least expect a site number. Nooooooo way Jose! Really irritating policy as most of their sites are seasonal. I booked a couple of months in advance and was told at that time that she couldn't tell me what site I was going to be on. Which I thought was understandable at the time but, I called today and found out that they still can't tell me. Really????? Now its a crap shoot for us. Hope they make it worth our while! read more
