He diagnosed the problem - some hack wire-splice job done on the fan motor itself that fried it. He got a replacement motor quickly and replaced it to ensure that it would last without compromising its functionality. He was quick and courteous and explained each component of the replacement so I could understand the scope of work and faulty splicing that caused the issue. They said there was a $49 assessment fee to come out and look at my HVAC. (See attached screenshot of Yelp chat). When they got there, they assured me they could take care of the problem and would provide a quote. The visit ended with them charging me $219 somehow. I disputed the additional $170 with my credit card company because this is FRAUD. Even by their own invoice, they did nothing to earn anything past the $49 assessment fee and even that they don't deserve. They NEVER provided me with a written quote. Because I live in a condo building, they had someone call me back and say I would need to pay $10-15k to rent a crane so they could replace my HVAC system and that didn't include any materials, labor etc. Just the crane. They also said they would have to cut through my upstairs neighbor's unit for the repair and that I would be responsible for all of the costs of demolition and restoration. At the time, I was in a different state taking care of an extremely sick family member and when I asked clarifying questions about how they were going to do the HVAC replacement they just kept throwing out bigger and bigger numbers until I was deeply distressed. $10-15k for a crane, another $7k to run some tests on the lines that run to and from the HVAC system, an overall ludicrous quote of $40k--to replace an HVAC system!! They could've just said they don't want the job. They could've even refrained from following up. Instead they needlessly put me in distress and unjustly tried to take $219 from me while providing NOTHING in exchange. I ended up going with a different company who didn't try to take advantage of a young homeowner and didn't need to get a crane. Please don't go with this lazy, crooked company. Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves. P.S. I also had to ask for a time frame (see other screenshot). They said 9-11. Then I got a call at 7 am that day saying someone was on their way. I was not at all prepared and told them they had to come later.

Big hype on selling us a water rite water softener that was supposed to also supposed to do the job of an acid neutralizer by correcting the PH levels. Were assured we did not need an acid neutralizer with this water softener and that it would be evident because we would no longer see blue and discoloration in our sinks, showers and tubs. Never happened. In fact, the tank blew out within the warranty period. Screaming Eagle refused to honor the warranty even though we had made consistent calls for help when the system was not working properly, requesting them to check the settings and find out why it was requiring several bags of salt per month. Promised several times they would come out to the house but never showed. When the system finally blew we were told it was because the salt tank was empty when they arrived. It was several days afterwards and why would we add salt to a broken system? We also reminded them about our previous messages and calls regarding the system requiring excessive salt, but they didn't recall. Asked about the promised warranty and were told we had to call the manufacturer. Called the manufacturer who agreed to replace the tank with confirmation from Screaming Eagle, but that never happened and the warranty expired soon after. We spent $7000 on this system because we have two disabled and medically complex children, one on a feeding tube, and both in wheelchairs, and we wanted their drinking water to be safe. We had to mostly buy bottled water anyway, even when the system was working because of the overabundance of salt in the water. We also had to pay plumbers twice to dislodge the salt from our faucets twice, and our pipes were getting pinholes and leaking due to acidic water. Their response was "Don't recall that you requested an acid neutralizer." Really? Screaming Eagle did not contact the manufacturer to advocate for us and offered no further assistance. The warranty expired and we have a blown water softener sitting in our basement with no way to remove it as we are in our 70s and disabled.
