I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience here. My son went in to pick up an order and was immediately met with a rude and unprofessional attitude from the bartender--the only person up front besides the cook. I could even hear the disrespectful tone over the phone, which was upsetting enough that I went in myself to confirm the order and pick it up. When I asked to speak with a manager or owner, I was told the cook in the back was the owner. I explained that employees in the service industry should treat all customers with professionalism and respect, especially paying ones. The way the bartender spoke to my son was completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the food was awful. The burger was not made as ordered, the fries were soggy, the Brussels sprouts were burnt beyond eating, and the brisket was soggy and flavorless. This was one of the worst dinners we've had and a total waste of money. Between the poor customer service and the terrible food quality, I will not be returning--and I feel others should know what kind of experience they may face here. read more

Finally made it to the sports lounge. I am glad we took the short walk to this bar. Today was just a crazy computer day for me at work and my husband was down for happy hour after he got off work. Our bartender was super friendly and talked about the items on the menu that she suggested. I ended up getting the blackened tilapia tacos. They were a good deal for only $8. My husband my husband got the barbecue cheeseburger, for $10. We both ended up getting beers. They have rotating beer. For happy hour they also have a beer and a shot for $6 . Overall we were very happy with our food the price the atmosphere. Burger was good and tacos were seasoned right. Sound system and available games make this a nice chill sports lounge. This is my favorite neighborhood hangout and spot for Bears games. Great daily food and drink specials! The food is always a hit - love the wings, tacos, quesadillas, burgers, etc. I would give it 5 stars but the service speed can be hit or miss depending on how busy it gets. First time ordering from this place . I had a taste for wings so I decided to try some from here . Wings were pretty meaty , good buffalo flavor, good sauce coating , and a tad spicy but nothing overwhelming ( I got the medium). Fried pickles were okay. They were kinda salty . I tasted the pickles and breading separately. I determined the majority of the salt was coming from the pickles . The ranch was disappointing in two ways: 1. Too little given for amount of food to dip 2. There wasn't enough ranch flavor in the ranch .. maybe it was a lack of dill or whatever ingredient makes ranch ranch but it wasn't there . Look for the BBQ marquee sign on North by California Ave. Bar is right as you walk in. Kitchen in far back. A rectangle space with still a lot of room. Modern jukebox, two dart machines, shuffleboard, atm, seven large flatscreens (that I could see), and a projection screen MAKE this bar my new go to. I ordered the sausage (2 links), white meat chicken , and brisket. Enough food for two people! Each portion came with fries. We ordered crispy brussel sprouts for instead for one of the orders. Make sure to specify if you want to sub one of the side orders for a different side, or order an additional side. I'm NOT a BBQ snob, but I DO eat a lot of it. I was a little hesitant going to a neighborhood bar for BBQ. But, I also LOVE TO BE PROVEN WRONG. The sausage was SO GOOD and my favorite of the three orders! Crispy and hearty. I'm not a brisket fan, but this time I went in for a second bite. So rich and tender. The chicken fell apart at the cut of my knife. The fries were average, but did the job. We order via grubhub and I am posting this here so you can imagine my frustration. We ordered a burger, FIRE BULL BURGER, and starting eating our food. A quarter of the way through I identified the wax paper for the cheese was cooked into the burger. As you can imagine, I called the restuarant and the person that answered was clearly frustrated with me that I called to complain about the order, I then asked to speak to the manager to advise. Regardless, the manager only spoke spanish and the compalint was not relayed the only response I got was call Grubhub to get your credit. Thanks... but thats not why I called....I called them to make sure they were aware that there was wax paper in my sandwich. Now, instead they had amped me to call Grubhub.... Here is the copy paste of the message received from Grubhub "Thank you for holding I was talking with the manager at the restaurant sorry for the delay unfortunately they did not approved the refund , however we have processed a %20 discount code that you can use in your next order from our end for this inconvenience with your food." You've got to be kidding me.. Regardless, I finally got the full credit. I continued to tell the Grubhub service rep that the response was unacceptable and we definitely were not inclined to eat any of the order. Based on the fact that I ate a quarter of the wax paper that was melted and cooked into the burger. Arrived there around 8pm to watch the WBC. It was was not really packed. Waited about 5 minutes for the bartender/waitress to come to our table. Ordered a couple of drinks and nachos. Drinks were delicious. 30 minutes passed no one came to check on us and no nachos. Walked to the bar and ask the over worked bar tender/waitress about my nachos she forgot to put the order in. Finally received nachos which were delicious. Put in another order of drinks and never came. This place needs employees ASAP. With hopes of watching the College football playoff championship game: Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Clemson Tigers, I sought out Boulevard Sports Lounge. I identified it solely because of its location being closer to my neighborhood, plus I'm familiar with the area. After looking at what its menu consisted of; liking it, and confirming if the actual game was being televised I made my trip out. Once I visually saw Boulevard Sports Lounge, I then searched for the nearest parking spot, which was in the neighborhood on one of the roads off to the side of the bar. Parking was definitely no issue and it instantly made me proud that I chose this bar versus making the trip to either 'The Ogden' or 'The Fifty/50' which were two others I had in mind prior to searching out Boulevard Sports Lounge. I expected it to be crowded with College football fans, but it ended up not being. The other fans started trickling in while going into the 2nd Quarter, which was not that bad in comparison to other sports lounges in the Wicker Park area. It also struck me as being spacious with several widescreen televisions along the main wall televising entertainment. As for the menu, it consisted of appetizers, tacos, ribs, sandwiches, wings, smoked meats, mac & cheese, and sides. Prior to my visit while looking through pictures shared on Yelp, I took an interest in the Smoked Brisket Sandwich which I will have to try on a different visit. Because on this visit, I ended up ordering the BBQ Pork Sausage Sandwich w/ a Chicago style root beer. With that I figured that I would return anyway, so why not try something else that caught my interest. I made sure to arrive at a reasonable time before the game, so that I could order my food before everyone started trickling in which I have no complaints on the timeline of receiving my order. The bartender was attentive with not just me but everyone else that sat at the bar and surrounding. I definitely plan on visiting again because everything I looked for fell in to play, such as its televising of the game, its location, good food, and there being no issues with parking. I have to say that after eating that BBQ Pork Sausage Sandwich, I was very tempted to unbutton my jeans, so that my bloated tummy could hang out as I watched the college football game, hehe. Other features that caught my eye were its ATM, juke box, dart throwing machines, and a visible kitchen which brings a restaurant feel considering that most kitchens are hidden inside of bars. Great place it's like the old tv show Cheers, we are regulars and there are a few other regulars, so it's cool to see there faces and the same servers because we all remember each other so that's a plus! The food is always fresh & delicious! I think they kidnapped someone's mother to prepare the food because the taste is homemade and never burnt or soggy or flavorless...we could eat here three times a week. My daughter always gets the chicken tenders they come with some truffle fries she also orders calamari they all look & smell delicious I'm vegetarian so all I can only snack on a few fries. Ok, I'll be honest with you. I'm a vegetarian and I don't normally visit BBQ places. However, I love this place! I first visited only because it was a convenient spot to watch some basketball playoffs. They have plenty of TV's, they generally have the sound on for big games, and the drinks and food are a plus. However, the first time I had their brussels sprouts my life changed forever. Add on their mac n cheese and jackpot! Their brussels sprouts are made with apple vinaigrette and the flavor is remarkable. They are crispy, yet juicy, and I could probably eat an entire meal of just sprouts. Seriously, I've never had anything like them before. The mac n cheese pairs very well with the side of veggies. It comes out in a cast iron skillet, with breadcrumbs on top. I like to add jalapenos to it and that adds the perfect amount of hot to the gooey cheese. Again, I can't speak to the BBQ (although friends say its fantastic!), I can say that they have veggie friendly options, plenty of seating, tons of TV's, and a great environment. I'm pretty much always happy with the food. The brisket sandwich is good!!! Probably the best thing on the menu, and it keeps really well. You can eat it cold if you don't finish it. It's $12, but it also includes hand cut fries that are solid. The wings with buffalo sauce aren't your momma's buffalo wings. The buffalo sauce has great smokiness. I also enjoy the mac and cheese with truffle oil. It's creamy underneath the toasted breadcrumb topping. And it's rotini! Who doesn't love rotini? It'll set you back $11, but if you go on Monday, it's $8. The Honey BBQ chicken tenders are delicious also. They aren't over-glazed, and the sauce is just sweet enough. The tenders with fries is $10, which isn't too expensive. In terms of drinks, they have a fair amount of beer on tap. Probably around 20-30. Service has always been pretty good. I love the TVs they have here and it's a great place to watch sports. It pains me to do this, but I must give them one star. This is because they employ literally the worst bartender I've ever seen. I wish I could say "she seemed like a new bartender and a new employee" but it is far worse than that. She did not know what Meyer's Rum was and when I told her "it is right in front of you, top shelf on the left" she stared at the bar for a minute, panicked, and then consulted the other bartender. The brisket was really fatty although a bit on the dry side which I found odd. I went for the ribs which were alright not fantastic but good flavor. Surrounded by older buildings and businesses, this place stand out as a glimpse of the food scene that's spilling out west from Wicker Park. The burgers are great, the smoked wings are usually a crowd favorite, and the sides are outstanding. I love the brussel sprouts and truffle fries among others. The food is on point but the service can be an issue, especially during peak hours. This spot is such a hidden gem. They just recently started serving food at this sports bar and it didn't disappoint. It's a BBQ based menu with a few nice surprises on it, like tacos! I went with my wife and a friend on a Friday night and got seated right away. We ordered nachos with pulled pork on them and had a couple rounds of Moscow Mules then ordered some meals. I had the cheeseburger which was loaded with bacon, my wife had the brisket sandwich which was crazy good, and my buddy enjoyed some chicken tacos which were awesome. I selfishly hoped he ordered the brisket tacos because I wanted to try those instead, the chicken tacos were still very good. We kept enjoying Moscow Mules throughout and finished with the brownie, which was served with ice cream and was a nice finish to the experience. The service was wonderful, one of the owners even checked in on us a couple times too. I thought this was real nice to see, a hands on approach and concern for each customer. One of the best sports bars I've ever been to. The staff was very accommodating in letting me and my Work Bff watch the NBA Playoffs with the sound on! Their dart machine is super fun and cheap to play! Must try! One of the waiters told us that it was a neighborhood bar and was shocked that we took a 30 minuet Lyft just to get there. Really not much positive to say about this place. I've been coming here for about a year and never have a good experience and keep wanting to give it another chance, but I think it's finally run out of chances. The service here is awful. The younger blonde bartender is great but everyone else here is clueless. There's another waitress (younger, maybe Mexican) that just follows behind her retaking orders and causing a lot of confusion. Beyond that, it's pretty tough to get service at all to order. I've been in here times when there's 4-5 other people inside the place and the other waitress mentioned above has her back turned to everyone on her phone. Orders for food and drink come out wrong frequently. One of the upsides is they stopped serving their old menu and have taken on L'Patrons menu, which is great. Their old menu was good, but the L'Patron menu is really tasty. Their steak burrito and chips and guac are very good. My biggest disappointment with this place is when it comes to UFC. They have a banner that says home of the UFC and always advertise playing the fights. Every time I've come in, it's a challenge to get them to turn on the prelims - they act like they have no idea what I'm talking about. When they play sound for the main card, they'll randomly turn off the sound to play music during the fights (during UFC 243 they cut the sound during the Dan Hooker fight and played 3 Nickelback songs - and this isn't the first time it's happened). It's pretty messy and really takes away from going there to watch the fights. This last fight, they started charging a cover out of no where without having that info posted ahead of time anywhere, which was obviously disappointing to my friends and I who go every week and show up for prelims. Honestly, there are better places to go to watch UFC that is 1) always free, 2) already has the fights on/switches them over on time/overall has a better production for the events, and 3) better service. read more
