Tried the oysters and they are excellent, very fresh and they open them in front of you, fried pickles are great too. Apparently some people don't have very high values when it comes to where they eat. When you do find this establishment, it's kind of hidden you enter through the bar and go out back to eat on picnic tables. I don't mind that but I do mind the over all grunge. Food was average at best portions were moderate for the price. Overall we will not return. read more

Went to the oyster bar today & someone name T let me just stand there while she continued to look through her phone & talk with the regular customers. One of them asked her to grab something where I was standing & she still ignored my presence. After about 10/15 minutes, I called her numerous of times & she acted like she didn't see me come through the door. I left . The service from the start was horrible. I will never return here again. This place is a HIDDEN GEM! I am somewhat of an oyster fanatic and let me tell you they did not disappoint. These oyster were HUGE and oh so TASTY My fiancé had the wings and said "these are the best I have ever had", I managed to wrestle one from him and they were simply life changing. The service was fantastic and they checked on us multiple times (which I love). If you didn't know about this place you would drive right by it (hence hidden gem), very quite area and fun outdoor seating with corn hole! I can't want to go back when I'm in town again! read more

Went here looking for oysters and what a disappointment! We ordered a bucket.... Well no matter how small/big they are they apparently only give 24 to a bucket! $40! They were old and nasty! The Clermont Oyster Bar is tucked away and very easily missed. The outside area screams dive bar to the point that my husband said that he didn't want to go in. He does not mind a good dive bar he just doesn't want to eat raw oysters in dirty hole in the wall. We decided to give it a look and see with an alternative restaurant already in mind. As soon as we walked through the door we knew that we were staying. The place was clean, packed and welcoming. We were offered a drink while we waited the twenty minutes to get seats at the bar. Once we were seated we ordered a fried appetizer basked ($9.99) with clams, onion pedals and hush puppies. Everything is cooked to order and comes out of the kitchen the second that it is done. This means piping hot and exactly what you are looking for. Next we went with a bucket of oysters. ($25.95) The oysters were huge and taste very fresh. We enjoyed them so much that we decided to try some other items and added a half pound of steamed of clams. ($7.95) They were cooked perfectly and not overly chewy like most places that serve them. Afterwards we moved on with a basket of fries ($3.95) and a basket of fried clams. ($7.95) Both of these items were good quality convenience food and cooked perfectly in fresh oil. The service was excellent. Every employee appeared laid back, friendly and hard working. They worked as a team to delivery a great overall experience. read more

Terrific oysters, shrimp, and clams. Fried mushrooms were great. Seasoned fries - strong. Good service. So, why only 3 stars? I am allergic to shellfish (the other 4 in my party were not and loved it). The only real choice on the menu was chicken wings and a fish sandwich. That's it. Entire menu. But, I love chicken wings! These were horrible. Over breaded and very fatty. Charge another $2 a dozen and get good wings. Like worse than the pizza delivery companies. Maybe offer unbreaded. Or a grilled chicken sandwich. Or even a burger?!? We'll be back for sure. I just may have to bring my own food. Be wary - this is a dive bar and proud of it. You come for the oysters and clams. Not ambiance. read more

I went to Clermont Oyster Bar last week. It was delicious. We had fried shrimp and a basket of french fries. Truly was, but they are not practicing social distancing. I know it's not mandatory but if they cared about the well being of their customers, they'd understand that social distancing is important. I was with a friend and I had wanted to try them out for awhile...so I didn't leave. In hindsight I should have suggested another restaurant. The waitress was okay and good, but no mask or gloves. The server wasn't wearing a mask or gloves either. We did sit outside and there was no one else out there. But inside at the bar was absolutely no social distancing. When the pandemic is over, I'll go again. read more

The clam strips were just what were looking for and didn't disappoint. I had the fish dip which had a nice spice also the fried mac n cheese bites, also spicy. Great tasting oysters, every time we go there. You sit up at the bar while they shuck the oysters in front of you. You can also get them steamed if you like instead of raw. They also have on the menu nice green salad, shrimp; steamed, crab legs, clam chowder. They do have an area outside where you can sit, but if your interests lean toward the raw oysters that is only at the bar. read more
