I was not expecting extraordinary service, so I was not disappointed. One of the MacPro towers in our office quit. We switched out all kinds of gear and believed we isolated the problem. Raced the MacPro over to the Los Altos Click-Away store to get our diagnosis confirmed. Phoned ahead and talked with a technician to make sure they could handle our problem. We were promised a call back within 24-hours. No call. Checked again the next day with another technician. Click-Away staff promised to look at our computer and give us a call. 24-hours later, still no action. At this point, I gave up. I retrieved the computer and drove it to Apple store where I received immediate help. Perhaps they can straighten out their internal processes and regain the level of service described by other Yelpers. Until then, I wish I would have gone straight to the Apple store. I recommend business users go to their nearest Apple store--unless you have a lot of time to waste. read more

ClickAway fixed and recovered data from my severely damaged and corrupted System files. The service was reasonably priced, employees courteous and regularly called me to update. I have contacted Geek Squad prior to finding ClickAway in Yellow Pages. Geek Squad priced the recovery of the data around$250 and said they have to charge me double for rush work. I was so pleased with my service from Clickaway. You know how computer-types (especially at the Apple Store) go out of their way to make you feel like an idiot? This is NOT AT ALL the case here, they are friendly, helpful and HONEST. They are not just out to make a buck or sell you something, they actually want to help you. Greg was able to get all of my files off of my MacBook after the motherboard crashed and it was completley useless to me. They took the old machine to use for parts and knocked off all of the repair charges! They didn't hav ethe new machine I was looking for but I will definitely be back if I ever need anything fixed. My Clickaway hero for the week/month/year is Bimh. My hard drive crashed, and crashed hard. I thought I just broke Windows 10, but unfortunately, it was much worse than that. What made it 100x worse: I had not backed up my desktop. I don't use it nearly as much as my laptop; but that doesn't mean it's not worth backing up. Hard lesson learned. But, the story has a happy ending. Bimh was able to recover EVERY FILE, and restore them to a brand new, superfast 1TB hard drive. My computer screams now. He also looked up my last MS Office download, and reloaded it for me. Above and beyond. For the new HD, saving all my files, restoring the OS, I felt the price was very reasonable. I was unable to sign into my laptop and took it in to the Los Altos store for diagnosis and repair. In less than two hours they were able to detect the problem and repaired it. They called me to notify me that it was ready. Tom assisted me and explained the problem and how they repaired it. All of the staff were very courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. Ashkan is the man!! I was very stressed because I had a deadline and my computer crashed in mid sentence! So I brought my computer to Click Away and Ashkan took care of me. I ended up purchasing a Dell which he picked up from the vendor and built for me. But most importantly he took care of my concerns... my being worried about my deadline. He was not being put off by stress. That was most important to me. Competence is one thing but care and concern for the customer's circumstances is not the kind of service you run into everyday. Ashkan provided that service! Then yesterday I was trying to install a new program and my system crashed. Needless to say I blamed the computer. Called Ashkan and again provided the same care. He did a thorough check and found that all we had to do was reinstall the program and that worked! In the meantime I had contacted the software vendor's tech support and after nearly 3 hrs they made things worse! Ashkan was calm and reassuring and fixed my system. The speaker on my Dell XPS-13 notebook started to emit hissing sound suddenly. I was so convinced it must be a hardware problem that I asked the Los Altos shop to order a new speaker. Their employee research this issue online and found many complaints with my computer model. She tracked down the problem and fixed the firmware. The speaker is now as good as new. Wow! What a great experience it was to get my computer repaired at this location. My computer had very limited memory capacity and was painfully slow. The owner Bhim, patiently and honestly, explained the upgrade process and resolved the issue with an excellent cost effective solution that I am very happy with! I I brought my Lenovo laptop in to ClickAway several times over the course of a week for multiple software and hardware issues. They quickly ran thorough diagnostic tests and identified that I needed a new hard drive, which I ordered, and the technicians were able to install in less than an hour. Unfortunately, my computer had several outstanding software issues, but Patrick was able to locate each one quickly and fix it. I have an older laptop and prefer Windows 8 to Windows 10, so he was able to re-install the OS without updating it. I came in to the store at least four times in a week to address malfunctioning software and programs, and each time Patrick was so professional and persistent in locating the computer's issue, each time explaining to me exactly what had happened so that I could be more informed. Communication with the staff was very easy and professional. Patrick called or left a message each time he located a problem and told me when the laptop would be ready for pickup and was very thorough in the diagnostic tests he ran. I would highly recommend the Los Altos ClickAway staff! Hopefully I won't have to be back too soon, but if I encounter any more laptop issues I'll definitely be back to them. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I had a terrible experience with Click Away and would not recommend it to anyone. My Dell laptop was broken- it wouldn't turn on so I gave it to them to look at. While they offered free diagnostic services, they took an extremely long time and almost never contacted me about the status of my laptop. They told me 4-5 days in (after I called them) that I just had a power switch issue (which was fixable for a very reasonable ~$150). However 9 days in, I called them again and it turns out that my laptop had motherboard issues-I would be better off getting a new laptop. Terrible, terrible service- I was very disappointed and frustrated with my Click Away Experience. read more

Maybe this place is good for some app support or installation. But they have no qualification for anything more challenging. And they are after the $. I had a crashed hard drive and thought I would give them a chance to recover it. They charged $50 for a dianogstic. Then they told me my drive was badly damagde and I needed to pay them $850~$1,400 to go to the clean room to recover whatever bit is left there. What a joke. They simply switched the PCB board to my drive and got it spinning again. Then they gave up because they couldn't read it. It only takes a Google to find that for WD drives you not only need a PCB board but also a ERPROM transplant to revivie the drive. I just went on the Internet to order a donor PCB board for $49 and paid a local electrician $30 to move the old ERPROM over. The drive started working again. Avoid them for anything more technical. read more
