Amazing burgers! I have been here several times. The burgers are handcrafted and freshly made. Served with fresh made-to-order hot and crispy fries. The burgers come with a fat slice of fresh tomato, onion and really fresh leafy and crisp lettuce. What is not to love. I've also had the fish and chips, and those are awesome as well. If you like blue cheese on your burger, man, you'll love their bacon and blue cheese burger. Heaven. My husband and I were going between Mt St Helens and Mt Rainier and were hungry on highway 12 and saw this place last weekend, it was excellent!!! They have the BEST burgers and fries!! I couldnt believe how good the burger was! it was def a hit for us! Very Friendly people there!!! I also had a Rootbeer Float which was so yummy!! I really recommend it!! Recognizable from the street with its skiing theme (not to mention that there's only a handful of restaurants in this small town), we were very impressed by their delicious varieties of handmade burger. The perfectly cooked patty with nice caramelized crust was the perfect end to a long day of hiking! The service was pretty fast despite the last minute dinner rush (they stop taking orders at 6:50). We happened upon this place while visiting Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens, and I am quite happy we found it. It is a small, unassuming place but the food was quite good. I was not terribly hungry when we first walked in so I just got the club but my boyfriend got the jalapeno burger with a vanilla milk shake. My club was very good but his burger was excellent (I suddenly became hungry again when I started nibbling on it). They serve a large variety of juicy, tasty burgers, and the shakes are great as well. The environment is fun (the walls are covered with random sporting equipment), and the service was fantastic. If you're traveling through the area, I would recommend stopping by for a bite to eat. read more

We stopped off here after hiking on Mt Rainier. We ordered shakes and burgers with fries. The burgers and fries arrived well before the shakes, unfortunately, but a rush of 10 shake orders (a group) had come just before us. Everyone was very apologetic that it took so long, however, it was hard to be annoyed. The burgers were delicious, just what we needed after the day's workout. The shakes were also tasty and worth the wait. The food was good enough that we went back the next day. I should also note, in response to some others' complaints, that the staff were nothing but kindness to us. We were greeted with a friendly hello when we first walked in and had several staff members ask how our meal was going throughout the meal. Yes, there are times when they seem to get overwhelmed and a bit behind, but that's the reality of a small restaurant. They handled it like champs, though, so no complaints. read more

Awesome place! The menu was excellent, even had a vegetarian burger option (not what I expected for somewhere that far out there). Also had buffalo and elk burgers. My family and I were driving out of Mt Rainier after some day hiking and looking for a decent place to eat, happened to stop in here. Wasn't too busy, but started to pick up after we got there. Food was still being delivered fairly quickly (about 10min or so). The food was about on par cost wise with what I'd expect. Not as cheap as McDonald's, but they use fresh ingredients. I'm impressed by how this place operates so efficiently during the busy flea market weekends. We had to stand in line of course but we were okay with that. Brand new place serving traditional, hard-packed ice cream. They have a very nice outdoor seating area in addition to the quaint indoors. The ice cream shop is just the first stage of their plans. They are working on a restaurant and bar in the other half of the building. I wish I lived in the area so I could help support this new business. read more

After hiking 15 miles for 2 days we were so excited to eat some good hearty food and this place knocked it out of the park. The sign our front says 'Best Burgers in Packwood'. I feel like usually when places say that, you can bet that's not quite accurate. This place, however, might have been the best burger in the state! Feeling extra hungry, we all got the double patty burgers...they were HUGE! These guys are not messing around. I had the Rainier burger and it was amazing. The milkshake was also one of the best I'd had in a long time. Huge props to these guys, and it's a definitely must stop anytime I'm in the area again! read more

Where should I start..... don't bother relying on anything for open hours. They literally open and close randomly whatever days and hours they feel like it. All the burgers have extravagant names and of course, cost around $13.00 for a burger. The fries don't even taste salted and the milkshakes... Oops I mean the small paper cup that costs $6.00 is about the only thing good. I guess I will end it with the fact my beer was expired by a year... if that doesn't say it all nothing will. read more

While staying in Packwood, we drove past this place at least 3 times before finally going inside. I wished that I had looked here on Yelp first. The family that runs the place are very friendly and accommodating. The burgers are made fresh daily and taste far better than any mass produced sliders you get everywhere else. The prices are a bit high, but I took into consideration that Packwood is many miles from the nearest city and just about everything costs more out there. The fact that the burgers are homemade and taste excellent just about makes it worth the money. As mentioned before, the fries are awesome, and I wished that I had ordered onion rings since they are beer-battered and not the breaded variety. The next time we are in town, we will stop in again. The staff is friendly the owner is the one that cooks the food with the help of his wife running the ice cream shop. The food is far more superior then most of the out town burger places for $13.00 I got a double patty burger, tater tots and large drink . I Would recommend eating here read more

Hamburgers are decent, fries are good, tater tots were dark brown and overdone. $9 for a plain kids hamburger with fries isn't going to entice us back. Lady taking orders was inexplicably rude. Decor is kinda cute with the skis and other gear but there are so many laminated and hand made bossy notes hung EVERYWHERE. It's so odd it was entertaining and am guessing must be made by the lady behind the counter. Much better food, value and service at the Cruiser Cafe. The restaurant is very clean and there is potential for this to be a great place to stop each time we come through but we were treated so rudely it kinda ruined diner and the next hour on the road until we shook it off. read more

Three others and myself attended the flea market sale. While there we went around two o clock for hamburgers. Greeting was good but customer service leaves a lot to be desired. example- over an hour waiting and nothing said when ordering, like ( there is a wait time.) They never offered a place to sit or is there anything we can do like a sample of their ice cream too cool us down. We saw others complaining and leaving. I spoke with the owner and they said normally 5 mins wait.But every year The packwood sale slows things down and her husband is doing his best. I say do better and plan ahead Duh! My partner and I were going back home from a job in Grandview, WA, and headed through White Pass toward Olympia. When we reached Packwood, I was quite hungry, and we stopped at a restaurant which we found didn't serve burgers. We asked which restaurant served the best burgers in Packwood, and they said to try Cliff Droppers. It was 6:30 pm, and they didn't think Cliff Droppers was open. We started driving down the road again, and I noticed the "Open" sign on the door as we sailed by. I asked my partner if she wanted to try their burgers, and she said yes, so we turned around and went back. Sure enough, they were still open, but my partner went in and then came back out and said that she wouldn't pay $9.95 for a burger. I went in and found that the price included the fries. It would probably be around $7 for a Big Mac and fries at McDonald's, so no big deal. We were quite pleasantly surprised. We both ordered the cheeseburger, well-done, with fries. My partner wanted her's with no cheese, to which the lady behind the counter offered a discount without us asking. The burger was delicious and hand-pressed. The burger seemed quite large, and the fries were to die for. We plan on stopping there again, if we are ever in the area. I give them a big thumbs-up! read more

Great place to eat if you like waiting a hour for just a average burger! We walked in, parking lot was a little full but no one was at the counter. We waited for 10 minutes for someone to come to the counter and even help us! That should have been our biggest sign to turn around and walk out the door. About 35 minutes more passed by and we noticed people after us getting their orders, so we decided to go see what was going on. Very rude girl said " it's on the grille now" and rolled her eyes. Guess that was sign language for they "misplaced" our ticker/order? 10 minutes later "which is what a average burger usually takes to cook anyways" it arrived. I ordered a blue cheese burger with bacon and got a blue cheese w/o bacon. The owner doing the right thing said she would take it back and fix it. I made the comment " yeah right and wait another hour for my meal, I'll just eat it!" She just laughed and said " you guys must have got stuck at the end of the big rush" and walked away! My husband and I stopped in for some burgers and fries while in the area. I had the Jalapeno burger and he had the Hawaiian. Best burgers we've ever had, hands down! The jalapenos were cooked and even thought was smothered over the burger, had the perfect amount of hot. The lettuce and tomato were very fresh and the meat had a great flavor. We both could taste every part of the burger. Not to mention the fries were amazing as well. Great service and quick. It was a beautiful day and they had outside seating.
