After our AC stopped working, we had a different company come out (skyline) and claim that we needed an all new furnace and AC unit totally $14k! I had a feeling I was getting scammed as they barely even seemed to open our unit and look anything and just kept taking photos of everything. I wanted a second option and was referred to Mark at climate brothers and am so thankful!!! He immediately opened up our AC unit and furnace to take a look at what the issue was and turns out it was just a really bad clog in one of the lines. He cleaned it out, showed me how to do it in the future if it happened again (a very common problem) and made sure everything was working again! Could not recommend these guys more. I had multiple contractors come out to do a tuneup. A big name local HVAC company wanted me to replace my furnace. I knew it wasn't that bad. I saw the Climate Brothers truck at my neighbors house up the street. Called the office and one of the guys called me back the same day. They showed up on time and gave me an honest assessment. Requested a quote on Yelp Wednesday evening, they reached out for my phone number first thing Thursday, called immediately and were at my house within an hour of that call. We had an issue with our furnace and had another company come out and give us quotes from $1400-$4400. The heater was working intermittently...so replacing it seemed excessive but that "other" company said their $1400 repair wasn't guaranteed and it was just a bandaid. That tech REALLY wanted me to upgrade to the $4400 model - hmmmm wonder if their technicians work on commission??? I live in downtown San Diego so have a rather interesting HVAC unit. I had several different companies come out and got so many different stories of what was wrong and the prices ranged from $3000 to $6000. One company never even showed back up after leaving everything apart. CB come out and diagnosed the unit and said it was about a $1000.00 repair. I was referred to Climate Brothers by a general contractor friend that I know and trust. I figured if he likes them they must be good. Well they were GREAT! We had a problem with the balancing in our upstairs system. They analyzed it, recommended installing dampers in the trunk lines and then performing a balance. The difference is really noticeable and effective. They did not try to up sell unnecessary equipment or even a whole new systems as other HVAC contractors tried. They were extremely respectful and made my wife feel safe and comfortable while they worked in our home. When we decided to put in central air, we called a lot of the big companies like ASI, Anderson Plumbing & Heating and Sears. While I liked that Anderson Plumbing & Heating took calls on Saturday late afternoon and on Sunday's, I didn't like that their representative slammed the heating system that the A/C would tie into in an effort to sell a combo unit and basically do a scare tactic sell of what would happen if the current situation was to continue. All the other companies had nothing bad to report, which tells me Anderson either didn't have a clue or just sent out a slimy salesperson. Climate Brothers were straight forward on price, giving appropriate information without any lengthy sales pressure and provided great pricing over the competition. If you're one to shop pricing as we are, I would recommend ASI, but Climate Brothers did win our business. Obviously, based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend Anderson Plumbing (we didn't even get a price from them because there were so many scenarios on how to proceed and then no follow up) and Sears was too much $$.
