3D Mammogram review…read more If you're highly anxious or just like knowing what to expect, here's a walkthrough of my experience. It was incredible and trauma-informed, just like every experience I've had at Steinberg. My doctor sent a referral to Steinberg. They reached out within the hour to get me scheduled. They had lots of availability, which I appreciate. Since you can't wear deodorant and it's 110 degrees out, I wanted to get in as early as possible. There's a simple breast health and history questionnaire to complete as part of the process. You'll get a preregistration reminder a few days before your appointment. I can't stress enough how much time this saves! I spent less than 2 minutes at the registration desk. Everyone here is incredibly kind. The sign-in person will call your name and direct you to a registration desk. If you preregistered, you won't be at the desk for very long. I only waited a few minutes to be called to the mammography area. The mammogram area is private, behind a locked door. First, you'll get a locker to put your things away and change into your gown. Thankfully, you only have to remove your shirt and bra. If you're worried about coverage, I'm a size 20/22 and 5'7". The gown was very roomy and went down to my knees. There's a small waiting room with a TV. The mammography room is private, dim, and cool. They'll confirm your info and then review any history that you shared. In my experience, the staff are incredibly trauma-informed. My tech told me everything she was doing and why, and tried to make the best of it. As someone who had a very negative mammogram experience elsewhere, I really appreciated the kind, upbeat atmosphere. Steinberg does 3D mammography so the process is a little different. First, they do the traditional top and bottom views. It was super easy because they let you keep your arms down. You just have to turn your head to the side. Then came the side views. For these, they angle the machine. You do have to reach forward and hold onto the machine, but your arm rests along a plate so you don't have to hold it up. The machine rotates around and takes 10 images. In total, I was in the mammography room maybe 5-7 minutes. From there, you go back to your locker and change. There's no check-out required. As my tech said, "Walk out like you own the place." My appointment was scheduled for 8:45 but since I didn't need the full 30 minutes for registration, they took me back early. I was in my car by 8:47.

I will never go to them again.

If you need to use the restroom you do have to ask the front desk for the key. My daughter went there for her first MRI and, as a parent, that can make you a little nervous because you are not sure how they will handle someone who has never done it before. The staff was very accommodating and took the time to explain the process to her so she knew what to expect. They were patient and made sure she felt comfortable before getting started. They also allowed me to be near the room to help her through the process, which I really appreciated. Those small gestures make a big difference when your child is going through something new or a little intimidating. Overall it was a positive experience and the staff made a situation that could have been stressful much easier.

I dread getting bloodwork done and don't like needles AT ALL, but I was diagnosed with a vitamin D…read moredeficiency last summer and I requested a recheck at my latest wellness checkup to see if my levels were improving or not. My primary care provider couldn't do same day bloodwork at their office because I had already eaten beforehand, so they ordered tests and I was advised to fast for 10 hours. Alongside this vitamin D recheck, I also received a lipid panel. I wanted to get in first thing in the morning so I could fast overnight, but all early morning times were booked up over several weeks. Normally I visit the Quest on Mountain Vista, but then I learned that this Quest is across the street from my boot camp gym and I decided to book my appointment in the early morning right after getting my workout in. Quest on Horizon Ridge and Carnegie is located way in the back of the parking lot. Note that they do not have a front office receptionist, just a check-in screen. For a quick check-in, scan your driver's license and insurance card at this screen. The waiting room is a little tiny with about eight or so chairs total, however. If it's busy, you can choose to leave and come back 10 minutes prior to the start of your appointment. Right after I got myself checked in, I was called back about 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. Talk about speedy right there. The phlebotomist I saw was extremely nice and helpful, plus the big window they had in the room she was in made my procedure easy and comfortable. It took longer than I was used to because multiple tests were being done on me, requiring multiple test tubes. Towards the end, I did start feeling squeamish because my blood started making these weird squishing noises as it was being loaded into one of the test tubes. And before you know it, my procedure was finished and I was sent on my way. I was very satisfied that I've officially decided to make the switch from Mountain Vista to Horizon Ridge. They were very fast and very friendly.

I had to cancel and reschedule due to an issue with my schedule--which they allowed me to do easily. When I checked in, they accidentally gave me new patient paperwork as opposed to paperwork related to a worker's comp case. The staff realized the error immediately and gave me the appropriate forms. I was called to the back and given a few gowns to cover myself for when I went to get the MRI done. It took about 20 minutes and I was able to lock up my belongings in a drawer, keep the key, removed all jewelry, and used the provided headphones to drown out the noise. The tech asked me a couple of times if I was ok with enclosed spaces or claustrophobic, but I was not. I did have a slight cough and he told me to try to control it so that the imaging would come out clear. I was also asked about if I had any pain or if I needed assistance getting on the table (I did due to my injury) and he helped me off and on the table. When it was finished, the tech came in and helped me from the table, took the headphones and cleaned up the area (since I was the last appointment of the night). I got dressed and had the staff member at the front make me a CD of my images and she also provided me with a link to make my own sign in for their portal. Honestly, it was pretty professional and easy to deal with the staff at this location. The only hiccup was when I first signed in for my appointment. They were pretty quick and thorough when it came to the MRI. If I should need more imaging done, I wouldn't mind coming back to this spot.

What should have been a simple MRI turned into an entire afternoon of inefficiency and frustration…read more Prior to arriving at the office, Steinberg employees need to review procedures, ask some medical questions, discuss the scan, etc. This phone conversation took about half an hour the week prior to the test. The next day I received an email to check in on line. That was another half hour or more answering the same questions on the computer. The day before I was to have an MRI at the Sienna location, we received a call rescheduling to the N. Gibson office. Now that I've been rescheduled to a different location, the electronic questions must be answered again. Another 30 minutes or so. Arriving 15 minutes before the recommended half hour early time, there were a couple of people ahead of me at the front desk. When it was my turn to speak with someone, I told them my name and was advised to sit down and we will call you in a couple of minutes (to deal with insurance cards, etc.). One of the receptionists was knee deep in a complicated billing discussion with a patient, and the other was on the computer ignoring people. Seven or eight other patients arrived after we did, and were also told to have a seat, we'll call you. Each of those people were called and I sat patiently waiting. 45 minutes later, as my MRI was supposed to be starting, I went back up to the front desk and again gave my name. The receptionist checked the computer and said I wasn't on the list any more. Not sure what that meant, but we needed to check in, so I was a little more assertive and convinced him to take copies of my ID cards, etc. I have a fairly common first name and, due to HIPAA Privacy laws, staff only uses the first name of the patient when calling them for their scan. This led to a good deal of confusion in the lobby. In the area where scans are done, there is a second waiting room. Upon receiving my gown and socks, etc. I was given a clipboard with more paperwork to review and sign (what was duplicate information previously done multiple times). An employee called my name and walked me back in the direction of the MRI machine, pausing first to review all of the paperwork, signatures, etc. while I waited in my gown and socks. Then told to please go sit back down. All together, this paperwork and check in fiasco took nearly an hour. The MRI was a 20 minute event and done. So arriving at 2:45, we left about 5 pm. We have recommendations for improving the efficiency of the office if anyone in management would care to contact us.

I needed to get my glucose test done, so I booked it here anyway. I was able to book it online and book it for an appointment first thing in the morning which was nice because I didn't want to have to fast for too long. For the glucose test, I had to sit in the lobby for a couple hours. I thought it was a bit odd they had me sit in the lobby for it and not in a back room, but it was fine cuz I ended up being okay. The guy that took my blood each time was so nice and friendly. He was great! And did a great job finding my veins. Sometimes that can be hard cuz apparently I have small ones and when I'm fasting it's even harder haha. But he was really nice and encouraging. Probably one of the best experiences I had here which was nice since I had to sit out in the lobby for a couple hours.

LabCorp at this location is definitely one of the ones that make it painless and simple. Fair warning, this place fills up pretty quickly, when I pulled into the parking lot at 6:30, there was already four or five people standing in line. I went in at 6:45 and the line was nine people deep. They're very prompt, and the doors opened right away at 7:00 a.m., and everybody lined up in front of the check-in kiosk. Process went pretty quickly and names were called right away to head back. I think I was seated for no more than 5 minutes before my name was called, they asked for driver's license and insurance card and then gave me a piece of paper and told me to head back. The ladies in the back were very nice and professional. Honestly? This was one of the most painless blood draws I've ever had. She was very skilled and made the process very simple. I had to give a urine sample, as they only have one restroom in the blood draw room. I had to go across the hallway, not a big deal, although I don't like wandering around with a cup of urine in my hand. But I went back in and dropped it into the little white basket and how it was on my way. Bottom line? I don't know about the other LabCorps in the area but this one is at the top of my list. Bonus points. It's in the same medical building as my doctor, so I can kill two birds with one stone when I need to. Need to get blood drawn and are a patient of that facility. You are in luck!
